Logan scoffs, "Don't blame David for this. Your emotions are always crazy"
"You've not seen anything yet!" I argue. "Wait till I'm pregnant"
"Megan!" David gasps. I burst out laughing when I see Logan unable to comeback me, and turn paler and paler by the second.
"Bet you wish you had that defibrillator now" I roll my eyes. "Sorry David, please continue"
David chuckles, "I just want you to know that I'll never let you or your Mum down. The reason I want to propose is to show I'm there for her every step of the way, and that does include you. I'm not here to mess things up. I'm here to make your Mums life a bit better, I guess"
I smile at him and look out of the window briefly.
"Okay" I nod.
"What?"
I shrug, "Do it. Propose"
"Are you serious? You actually want this to happen?" he asks in disbelief.
"Well yeah. You love her and she loves you so why not?" I shrug again. "But if this goes wrong, David-"
"Yeah, I know!" he holds his hands up in defence. He probably doesn't want to hear another one of my graphic threats. "So you want this to happen?"
"Yeah" I nod.
"Megan, you're a diamond" he practically squeals, coming over to pull me in for a hug and kiss me on the top of my head.
I chuckle and push him away, "Speaking of diamonds..."
What? I wanna see the ring...
He pulls the box out of his blazer pocket and passes it over to me. I let out a squeal of excitement as I open the box, and it's only now I feel completely comfortable and excited that my Mum's getting proposed to.
The ring is so beautiful. It's really simple; the band of it is circled with tiny diamonds, and the diamond on top is just a simple circle shape.
Wouldn't I be a good salesperson?
Yeah, I can't exactly explain the ring in detail but I know my Mum's going to love it!
"Will she like it?" David asks hesitantly.
"One million percent!" I squeal again, glancing over at Logan to see his reaction. He still looks slightly pale. I roll my eyes, "Oh my god, Logan. I'm not pregnant. Now look at this ring"
He shakes out of his thoughts and takes a look at the ring, "Yeah it's nice"
Nice?
Men...
"So do you know how you're going to ask her?" I question David.
"What do you mean?" he scares me by asking.
Logan and I mirror each other's actions as we look at David, then back to each other in confusion.
"Well, you have a speech... right?" I ask in fear, and almost cry when he stares at me blankly. Men are actually useless!
"David, you can't just ask her to marry you" Logan steps in, realising I'm left speechless again. "You need to tell her a bunch of stuff to make her want to marry you, first"
It takes me a bit more than half an hour to calm David down and give him a bit of advice on what cringey things to say to my Mum before he asks her to spend the rest of her life with him. Who knew I'd be the romantic one?
