Chapter 19: A Reunion

"Hey, what happened with you and Chase?" I questioned him once I was right in front of him. "Nothing really..." Slater said looking off in the distance. "Nothing? Because Chase had a black eye..." I pointed out knowing he was lying. "Oh... well I may have gotten into a fight with him. He just knows now not to touch you again. That's all that matters." Slater responded with a protective tone. I looked at him with furrowed eyebrows. "What?" Slater said. "Are you mad that I gave him a black eye?" He said with a stern voice and a confused look.

"No... I just don't like seeing people get hurt. But don't lie to me please, I know when you are." I said looking back up to him with a worried look on my face. "Okay sorry..." He responded knowing that I obviously caught him lying again.

I turned around and walked up the steps to the house then opened the door. Slater had stayed outside since he had gotten a phone call from someone.

Once I closed the door behind me I noticed Grace sitting at the kitchen counter, eating scrambled eggs. I walked over to her, my heels clicking on the wood floor. She looked up to me and smiled. "Hey, Danielle! Where have you been?" She said waving with her fork in one hand. I sat down on one of the kitchen stools across from her. "Slater invited me to a meeting this morning and I went," I responded tiredly.

"Oh alright, that's nice." She said as she continued to stuff her mouth with the scrambled eggs. "My girlfriend is coming over later if you'd like to meet her." She looked back up to me with a kind smile. "Yeah for sure, what are you guys going to do?" I responded as I rested my head on my hand. "Maybe just watch a movie then go out, hang out for a bit, you know?" She seemed so excited to see her girlfriend. It made me happy to see Grace like this. She was usually very bubbly and kind-hearted, and her girlfriend made her even more excited from her just thinking about it. "Sounds fun, " I said while smiling then covering my mouth when I started to yawn. I was extremely tired, I had barely gotten any sleep last night.

"Dang, you look tired. Maybe you should take a nap?" Grace said, noticing the bags that formed under my eyes and my loud yawn. "Yeah, I guess I am," I responded as I rubbed my eyes. "After my girlfriend and I hangout we might go out to a restaurant . You want to come with us after you take a nap?" She said once she finished the last bite of her eggs. She set her fork down on her plate and carried it to the sink.

"No, I'm actually going to my cousin's wedding today," I responded while I watched her wash the dishes. "Oh okay, that sounds fun." She exclaimed while she dried off her hands after she set her plate and fork in the drying rack.

My eyes caught focus on the pool outside. I haven't gone swimming in a long time, I guess I could sit on one of the floaties in the pool and rest my eyes for a bit. "I think I'm gonna go swimming," I said as I started to walk away to go upstairs and change. "Have fun, I'm gonna go and get ready for my girlfriend." She said once she had grabbed her phone off the counter and walked away towards the bathroom.

I continued my walk upstairs to my room. Once I got into my room I sat down my phone on my bed and walked to the closet. I opened one of my dressers drawers at the bottom, it was filled with swimsuits top and bottoms.

I slipped on a black bikini set, the bottom was a thong like shape and fitted me perfectly. The top was a push-up and had thin straps that tied in the back. I turned around to look in my mirror at the end of the closet. My shape was shown perfectly and my curves looked great. This bathing suit served justice for my body.

Once I was done I put over a white lace cover-up and grabbed my phone off the edge of my bed. I walked quickly downstairs then looked outside the glass doors to see someone in the pool. It was Nik, he was sitting in the corner of the pool drinking a beer. I haven't talked to Nik in a while, we never really saw each other. He seemed very sweet and genuine.
