Saving Who?

Chapter 39

Kat adjusted everyone's arrangments to make sure there was no confusion. The music started to play and the bridesmaids and groomsmen walked down the aisle, and then it was finally Rosa's turn.

"I'm happy the both of you are walking me down." she gave both of them kisses and hooked her arm through theirs.

Ryan smiled at Kat, and she to him, they knew that their nana was happier than ever. Walking down the sandy beach, Kat trained her eyes towards the pastor, but obviously her eyes drifted to the green eyed man standing a few feet away.

He couldn't take his eyes off of her, the way the wind blew her hair, the way she smiled at her nana. Then she looked at him while they walked Rosa down the sandy aisle. He couldn't help but smile at her and she did the same before looking away. 

When they eventually reached the pastor and Richard, both of them said they were giving the bride away. 

Then Kat and Ryan took their positions opposite each other and the ceremony began. Throughout the entire proceeding, both Talen and Kat snuck glances at each other.

"Keep doing that and everyone else is gonna want you to get married." Claire whispered to her.

Kat blushed pretty hard at her comment. "Sorry." was all she replied. 

At the end of the ceremony, Richard and Rosa  kissed, everyone threw rose petals at them as they walked off the aisle. 

As if they were pulled by magnets, Talen and Kat drifted towrads each other, and walked towards the refreshments area together... ignoring the formation she had set, and earning grins from everyone else.

"That was nice." Talen said lacing his fingers with hers.

"It was, wasn't it? I'm happy she's happy." Kat sighed, sipping on champagne.

"Are you happy?" he asked looking directly at her.

"Everything feels right now. Everyone has their own thing going on." 

"What does that mean for us?" he said unsure.

"It means, I love you. We'll just have to see what the future holds for us."

"Kat, we need you over here. We're about to leave to check up on the reception venue and food." Bree said cutting in. "Crap, I'm ruining another moment aren't I?" she said wincing.

Talen tried all he could not to stare her down and just shook his head. "Not at all. We can talk later." 

Kat handled everything she could at that moment. She didn't want anyone bugging her while she talked to Talen. 

She and the girls were taken to the reception where dinner was bound to happen that night. Where her grandmother would have her first dance, and cut the cake. The cake which she tirelessly worked on with her team. 

Pushing thoughts of Talen to the side, she focused on what was at hand.

"You have so much running through your mind right now. We can tell. But we just need to ask you. Did you talk to him yet?" Claire asked looking worried.

"No. No I have not. Let's just hope it isn't too late once this is all over." she sighed.

They changed into their chef whites and headed to the amazing venue that was also by the beach side. It was a mansion that was remodelled to hold events such as this. The kitchen was already in full steam when they stepped in.

Bree and Claire were absolutely happy with the work their sous chefs had done with the rest of the team. Kat too was pleased with her dessert team.
