Part 49: Accident !!!

I remember each moment we spent, be it in the lift or in the trial room. I have always felt so much connected with you, you were there for me everytime, saving me from my mother's husband or when my house was burnt. I felt a little anxious because it was already past 2.30 and Kartik hadn't arrived. I tried calling him but his phone was switched off, the anxiety increased more, I tried a lot but he wasn't. Unknowingly, tears well up in my eyes ," Kartik, where are you..", I felt a sudden fear in my mind, I tried to shrug of the feeling, keeping myself calm," He is okay, He is okay..", as soon seconds were passing my heart started racing with more pace. 

I walked to nearby phone booth, when I heard a siren, Police came with an announcement," Hello All, there has been a huge accident near by, due to which the roads are block, it is advised with people to take different route and also, if they were expecting someone, coming from this area, please don't panic, we have settled pur booth and will share the details of any casualties."

My heart dropped, because Kartik was coming from there, I quickly rushed towards the booth and frantically asked about my Kartik. Huge crowd was gathered and the police were trying to calm, but since it's about everyone's loved one, with great difficulty I got a chance to ask about my Husband.

"Excuse me, do you know this person", I showed his pic," he is.. He is my Husband.."

The officer looked at the pic in detail, my heart stopped fearing the worst nightmare," No mam, I don't know him, I don't think I have seen him near the accident site..". I felt a breath coming back, but then if he was not there then where was Kartik. I was looking everywhere, asking every other person, I saw a blonde man, showing his pic. I asked him," Excuse me..!! Sir.. did you happen to see this Man..", he looked at me in a weird way, I calmed myself by not bursting with emotion,"he is my husband..". He just nodded his head in no, making my heartbeat to do race.

"Where are you Kartik", I mumbled to myself, tears were not stopping, I felt like I lost him, my heart stopped beating, finally finding no sign of him, I sat across a fountain, bowing my head down and calling him again and again," Kartik.. Please come back.." The only thing right now I want is my love my, my husband back. "God..!! Please send my kartik back, I can't stay from him, Please..!!!"

I was crying, when I felt a touch on my shoulder.

Kartik's POV

I was returning back, not sure but I was feeling happy today, the way Naira kissed me while leaving seemed like she wanted to say something but chose a physical form rather than to speak. I was almost on my way, I was a little late as the meeting ended a bit late, when I saw there was a lot of traffic. Getting down from the taxi, I got to know that there is some accident taking place, My heart beats fast thinking about her, "OOh GOD, please keep her safe..", I picked my phone to call her but no " Shit, now this battery is dying right now only...", I ran, the traffic was a lot, people were running from here and there, I ran as fast as I could to my love. I reached the place she asked me, but she was nowhere to be seen. I asked few of the people, but none help me, I asked one a blonde man," Hey..Man..!! have you seen this girl..", I asked, showing her picture on my phone, she looked at me in a weird way," hey..!! She is my..", he interrupted in between," Your wife.. Right..!"

I was shocked for a second," You know her, where is she...", he pointed me towards her, I saw my love was sitting there lifeless, crying her heart out . I quickly moved towards her taking long strides and put my hand on her shoulder. She turned, the expression on her face was horrified, the accident news might have shaken her as well, I thought she would hug but she was standing there silent, I tried to wipe her tear when unexpectedly, she started beating me

"Ouch.. Naira... ", she didn't stop and punched me lightly, not hard on my chest and crying more hard," Ouch naira...", I tried to stop her but she didn't and furiously said," Do you have idea Kartik, where was your phone...!!"

I said, controlling her," Uff..!! You girl, my phone was switched off..", She still said in her furious way," You know how much scared I was, what if something would have happened to you," saying she started beating me again, but this time I didn't stop her, because her love was coming from all this thrashing," You know, you almost took my life, my heart stops seeing no sign of yours, why are you so careless Kartik, have you any idea how would I have lived without you.. You Mendak..", I finally stopped her and hugged her tightly, this is what i wanted to do as soon I saw her, I hugged very tightly, not even letting air to pass on and she took hugged me reciprocating my feelings when she said

" I love you Kartik..."

I lost my grip a bit, breaking the hug, I cupped her face asking her again," What.. what did you say.." and said it, looking directly into my eyes," I love you Mendak, I really really Love you Kartik, Please don't ever leave me..". I need nothing more. I just hugged her deeply whispering the same," I love you Naira, more than my life, I love you..."
