The door bell rang. We both froze. I grabbed my shirt and put it on. We both walked over to the front door. I noticed Joey hadn't bothered to put his shirt.
I opened the door to find Hailey standing there.
"Hi" I say smiling
"Hello" Hailey says while Joey opens up the door more so that he is able to see who's out there.
"Hi" Jesse says smiling. Hailey looks him over and back at me with a smile.
"Well I won't keep you. I just came to give these to you." She hands me an envelope. "They're pictures I took of the kids at Jesse's birthday party."
"Thanks so much. I'll give them to Bella when she gets home."
"I'd appreciate that. There's also some copies for you too."
"Thanks."
"No, thanks you two. Kylie told me you two bought them ice cream."
"It was nothing." Joey said.
"It kind of is a lot to Kylie and me. You see her father left us when she was two. She's not real comfortable around men."
"I'm sorry" Joey and I said at the same time.
"Don't be. Unless you get a girl pregnant and leave her with the baby to care for herself." Hailey gave a weak smile.
"I better get going Kylie will be awake any minute now. Bye"
"Bye" I said giving Hailey a hug.
"It was nice meeting you." She said shaking Joey's hand.
"Same here" He said smiling.
She turned and left. I closed the door after I couldn't see her anymore.
"She's pretty and single you should ask her out." I told Joey.
"I'm not much of a fan for blonds, I like brunettes better." Of course he's talking about Emily and he wants me to get the girl, who messed up his relationship with Emily, off his back.
"Let's watch a movie." I say walking to the living room
"Umm ok"
I start looking through the movies on the shelf. "This one" I say taking out Jumanji and walking to the DVD player. I put the disc in and grabbed the control.
I sat criss cross on the couch and pushed play on the remote. Joey came and sat down next to me.
"What are we watching?" Joey asked.
"Jumanji"
"Why?"
"I have a crush on the old man with the beard that tries killing that one guy." I said as if it wasn't obvious.
"Huh?"
"I'm just kidding. I have a crush on the cop."
"Really?"
"Yea, He's so sexy"
"Oh"
"I'm just kidding. I just love watching this movie."
"Why?"
"Long story"
"I have time"
"Ok. I sometimes I wish that my life was a board game and when I was done with the game I would get my parents back and life would be how it should have been. You know with them in my life. You know I don't even know where my real father is buried"
"Have you asked Wicked Ann?"
"Ha, like she's going to tell me."
"Have you tried looking up his name in funeral places?"
"Yes many times but the information doesn't come up the same."
"Oh"
"Yea, enough about sad stories let's watch the movie." I smile. He shook his head and smiled back.
"Oh wait I just forgot I have to go do something." Joey said as he got up.
"What?" I asked.
"Just something I have to do." He didn't want to give more information so I didn't insist for more.
"Ok"
"I'll be back in less than 1 hour" He started going towards the guest room, for his shirt I'm guessing.
"Ok" I said looking at the TV screen but not paying attention because I really wanted to know what he was going to go do.
He came back. "Bye"
"Bye" I said as he walked out the door.
I was getting bored watching the movie. I wanted to text Ashley but she was in Mexico with Henrey for spring break. Yea they invited me but I said no since I was going to go to Emma's wedding. I was going to finally meet his brother Danny. I wonder what he's going to be like.
I was getting really bored. I decided just to take a nap. A bit later I was awoken by Jesse jumping on the couch yelling 'Nina, Nina wake up!'
I rub my palms on my eyes and ask him what's up.
"The movie finished." He states calmly sitting down and looking at the TV.
"Do you want to watch another one?" I ask
"Yea!" He ran to the movie shelf as I slowly get up stretch/yawn and walk over to him.
"This one" he says pulling out the wiggles DVD case and giving it to me ok.
"Ok" I say taking it and putting it into the DVD player.
We both walked back to the couch and sat down. 7 minutes into the movie Jesse climbed on to my lap.
The movie started making me sleepy. Right as I was about to close my eyes I heard the front door open.
