Chapter 8: I'm hurt

Jennie pulled her hand back then massage her temple frustratingly.

"You really can't understand Lisa? I need a break. A break from you... I need to breathe. I need to loosen up. Lisa! I. NEED. A. BREAK." Jennie said irritatedly.

Lisa just stands there and still fighting for her tears not to fall. Jennie being bold about this really hurts her a lot. Jennie doesn't have filters but at least she didn't lie right? Lisa still finds a positive angle about the situation even if it's killing her inside.

"I feel like suffocating. I feel choked. I feel prisoned. I feel... I feel like my world doesn't spin anymore because I'm trapped... I need to rest Lisa, what the hell can't you understand about that?" Jennie asked while looking at Lisa like she's the most stupid person she met.

A lone tear escaped Lisa's eyes after hearing Jennie's words.

"I... I'm sorry... I'll give you what you want b-but please don't leave me..." Lisa said then hold Jennie's hand once more while her tears continued to flow.

"I'll let you rest but please come back to me until you're okay. It's fine that you're going to rest if you're coming back to me at the end okay? I'm sorry baby... I'm sorry if I did something wrong but please don't leave me... I don't know what to do if I lose you in my life... Promise me you'll come back to me... Please Jennie promise me..." Lisa said, enveloping Jennie's hand by both of her hands, tears still flowing nonstop.

Jennie felt guilt seeing Lisa like this in front of her.

What's wrong with me? She asked herself.

"I promise" Jennie's eyes soften then caress Lisa's cheeks that made the latter smile because Jennie became soft to her again. Lisa holds Jennie's hands that are holding her cheeks.

"I love you, Jennie, as long as I know that you love me too, I won't lose hope and still fight for us, for our dream, for our future," Lisa said that made Jennie felt guilt even more.

"You and I against the world. I'll keep that Jennie" Lisa said then kissed Jennie's forehead and gave her a warm smile.

Then, Jennie remembered Kai's promises. She remembered the dreams and goals she's going to reach when she's with Kai and her heart jumped because of the thought.

Jennie took a step back then look at Lisa blankly again.

"This is the last time you'll ask me about this Lisa. Please... Let me take my space. You can go now" Jennie said coldly then turn around to fixed her things because she still has meetings.

Lisa who's on verge of kneeling and crying out loud just covered her mouth and swallowed her sobs. She doesn't want to make a scene in front of Jennie, scared at the thought that the latter won't comfort her like before because of their state.

"B-Bye Jennie... T-Take care" Lisa said between her sobs then run out of the office. She can't take it anymore. She needs to let it all out.

Jennie stopped doing her things when she heard Lisa left her office.

She's hurt. She's guilty. She felt so bad that she's the reason why the love of her life is crying. She wanted to run and engulf Lisa with a tight hug but there's something in her that's saying that it's not the right thing to do.

She felt that there are already tears flowing through her cheeks.

Who am I kidding? I love her so much. Jennie said to herself then turn around and was about to run after Lisa when she bumped into a man in front of her.

"You did the right thing, Jennie. She needs to be used by the pain and soon enough, it'll fade soon... It's better to be early right?" It's Kai.

He holds her shoulder then looks right into her eyes.
