-1- Finding the Avatar

"Yes my prince."

Iroh sat in his chambers.

I sat before him, "The prince wishes to train."

"Is that all you want to say?" He smirked, "You seem to want to say so much more."

I laughed, "I swear you know me better than the prince at this point."

"Are you sure about that? You and the prince have been spending almost all of your lives together. I know he knows you much better than you think he does."

I smiled a sad smile, "I don't believe so Sifu Iroh. I don't even feel like I know him anymore. He's just changed so much in the years since we've been exiled. The change isn't good. And I just don't have the power to save him from himself."

Iroh stood and placed one hand on my shoulder, and used the other to make me look at him, "The prince does care about you. But you don't need to help him alone, I am here to help my nephew as well."

He let go of me and I bowed to him, "Thank you Teacher."

"No problem dear," He smiled and made his way to the door, "Now let's go let the prince do his training."

I now stood behind Iroh's seat.

"Again."

I watched as Zuko trained with his men.

"No!" Iroh yelled out and the prince lowered his arms, "Power in firebending comes from the breath, not the muscles. The breath becomes energy in the body. The energy extends past your limbs and becomes: fire!"

Iroh motioned for me to demonstrate. I moved through the stances and let my yellowy-white flame shoot out, making it evaporate before it got within a foot of the prince's form.

"Get it right this time."

I wrapped my arms around myself as Prince Zuko marched towards us in anger, "Enough! I've been drilling this sequence all day. Teach me the next set! I'm more than ready!"

"No, you are impatient. You have yet to master your basics. Drill it again!"

The prince turned in anger. He sent a wave of flame toward one of his men. The man couldn't stop the flame in time. He was thrown back, landing with his face towards the sun. I ran over to help.

"The sages tell us that the Avatar is the last airbender," The prince turned back to his uncle, "He must be over a hundred years old by now. He's had a century to master the four elements! I'll need more than basic firebending to defeat him. You will teach me the advanced set!"

I whispered to the man next to me on the ground, "Are you alright? Do you need me to get the med kit?"

He shook his head as I helped him to his feet.

"Very well... But first, I must finish my roast duck."

I handed the man over to another member of the crew, "Take him to the med bay and have him checked for injuries."

"Yes lady (Y/N)."

"Just call me (Y/N), I know I've told you this before."

"Sorry Mam."

I followed the prince as he pulled out a telescope, "I know he is nearby."

I heard a flare go off in the distance. An old fire nation naval flare.

This caught Prince Zuko's attention, "The last airbender!"

Panic seeped through me.

"Quite agile for his old age," Prince Zuko turned to me, "(Y/N) wake my uncle! Tell him I found the Avatar. As well as his hiding place ..."
