Chapter 19: Let's wait

"So... All this time, it's me who's the reason why you're suffering from that disease?" Lisa started, still looking at the floor.

Irene just sighed. She doesn't want Lisa to know about it because she doesn't want the latter to blame herself or feel guilty because in Irene's mind... It's not Lisa's fault which is really true.

"Sor—"

"You don't have to say sorry Lisa, it's not your fault and I swear... I'll be mad if you say that" Irene cut her off while still looking at the ceiling.

"But you should tell me you know? All this time it's just me... I... I can't believe this" Lisa said.

"I don't want to tell you because I know you'll blame yourself and look... That's what is really happening"

"Because it's my fault Joohyun. I'm the reason why you're near to die"

"It is not Lisa. It's not your fault that you love Je... I mean your ex" Irene bit her lower lip. She doesn't want Lisa to know Jennie's name, she wants to bury everything in the past and the gang knew about it too, hence they didn't mention Jennie's name earlier.

"But Joohyun..." Lisa looked at her that made Irene look at her as well.

"What I said that night... I mean it. I really mean it Joohyun. If I'm not deeply in love with my ex that time... I'll truly make you mine instead" she said honestly that made Irene's heart to race.

It feels like everything went silent and the only thing that she can hear is the sound of her pounding heart.

"But it's not because I happened to know your feelings or because I want to forget my ex but because it's what I want. I wholeheartedly want it Joohyun... No one... I mean no one can stop themselves from falling in love with you. You're beautiful, you're talented, caring, sweet, loving, and all... You're everyone's ideal type Joohyun... Argh, this is so hard" Lisa gripped her hair as she shut her eyes closed while Irene's just looking at her and still processing everything that she heard. Did she just... Heard it right?

"Maybe... Just maybe... If you're the first one that I met? I'll surely be fell in love with you already but guess that the universe wants it the other way around... I wished that it's just you whom I fell for so that I didn't waste everything and you didn't suffer from that disease... I'm sorry" Lisa kept her face buried at her palms.

Irene just stares at her. She doesn't know what to say nor to react but one thing's for sure... Her heart is now having a party inside her chest. It's wildly happy because of what Lisa said.

"Can I be honest Joohyun?" Lisa look at her seriously but her eyes are soft and tender that wanted to tell a lot of words. Irene can't find a word so she just slowly nods her head in response.

"It's hard for me to see you suffering too. It hurts me that I can't do anything about your disease and I think... I think I have this little crush on you way back in high school because who wouldn't right? You're just so... Undeniably gorgeous and amazing... I just didn't entertain the feelings that much because maybe I have my ex at that time? I don't know... I don't even know when we started our relationship" Lisa scratch her nape. She's becoming confused again.

"But heck... Maybe I really fell for you if I didn't put much effort into my ex? Maybe we're both together now?" Lisa asked herself but looking at Irene.

"You know what? I feel like I really like you Joohyun" Lisa said that made Irene look away, aware of her red cheeks.

Lisa's feelings became clearer now because her love for Jennie is now gone and her admiration towards Irene is really there... It's just deep and hiding because Jennie's really dominant at Lisa's heart before.

"I want to tell you everything that's running in my mind but I'm sorry if I'm making you uncomfortable," Lisa said when she saw Irene looked away.

"N-No... You c-can continue... I'm just surprised" Irene quickly said when she looked at Lisa again.

"Joohyun..." Lisa called softly then hold Irene's hand.

"You have proven your love enough... You suffered enough and you sacrificed enough... Maybe... Just maybe it's time for me to make it up to you?" Irene was about to speak when Lisa cut her off.

"I'm not saying this just because I want to return the favor but because I want Hyun... Don't worry," Lisa said while caressing Irene's hand using her thumb.

"I'll make you mine," She said while looking lovingly and deeply at Irene's eyes.

"But I don't want to rush things... I want it to be as slow as possible... I don't want you to think that I'm just doing it because I want to return the favor or because I'll take you for granted. I'm the one who's the reason for that disease and I want to be the one as well to be the cure" Then, Lisa caress Irene's left cheeks while admiring her beauty.

"You deserves everything"

Irene wanted to tear up because of so many emotions she's feeling but she doesn't want to ruin the moment.

"You're not hard to love and I'll be the example... Let's just wait... I can prove it... Let's wait" Lisa said then placed a long kiss on Irene's forehead.

They both need to wait.

The only sign that Lisa already fell for Irene is the disease... If that vanished... That means... She already reciprocated the latter's love and they're both sharing the feelings already so yes... They need to wait...
