"So, how do we find out?" Lily asked. We all knew that the victim matched the VIN number; however, anyone who knew anything about cars knows the only way to be certain was the engine number. A smile grew on my face, and I shook my head as I thought of Lily's lack of knowledge of cars.

"Cal matched the VIN number, but the only real way to know is the engine number," I informed Lily, along with Sam, who appeared to be just as clueless as she was.

"I'm guessing the engine number—" Sam began, but didn't bother to finish because we all knew that meant that someone was going to have to go under the car to take a look at the engine.

"On the engine, yeah," I answered nervously as I sucked in my bottom lip.

Sam and Dean were quick to take off their jackets. I turned to look at Lily, who was wearing a high-cut white long-sleeved top with a navy blue pencil skirt that stopped just above her knees and her matching light shade of eye-shadow and lip-stick that I usually saw her with, along with open-toe beige wedges.  I was wearing a royal blue high-cut sleeveless dress that stopped at my mid-thigh with six-inch black strapped heels. It was clear that either Sam and Dean were in a better condition to attempt to get the engine number from the bottom of the car. They both had their sleeves rolled up, staring at the car. Surely, none of them were going to examine the engine's number without taking the appropriate precautions.

"You want me to do it?" Sam asked his brother as he watched him look more than hesitant to get underneath the car. If I were him, I would as well.

"No, no, no, I've—I've got it," Dean said unsurely. He then walked to the car and addressed it. "Okay, baby. I'm not gonna hurt you, so don't hurt me." He finally got onto the dollar board with a pencil in his mouth and rolled himself under the car, so his eyes could level with the engine number. After a minute, the car shuttered, undoubtedly terrifying Dean, who was lying underneath.

"Need a flashlight?" Sam offered as he got onto his hands and knees to see how Dean was doing.

"No. Don't do anything, just go away." I heard Dean whisper from under the car.

"You okay?"

"Don't speak. All right? In fact, don't even look at her; she might not like it." He answered overly-paranoid, although I would have been as well. Sam then got back on his feet and placed his hands on his hips as we all waited for Dean to finish. After a moment of silence, he quickly slid out from under the car, exhaling deeply and standing up. He physically tried to compose himself as he handed the paper with the engine number to his brother. "Find out who owned it. Not just the last owner, you gotta take it all the way back to nineteen-fifty-five." He said as he attempted to regain his breath after holding it in for so long.

"That's a lot of research," Sam stated.

"Well, I guess I just made your afternoon." Dean sighed and walked away as Sam was left with the paper in his hand and hours of research to do, that I knew he was incapable of doing alone.

AFTER ARRIVING BACK TO OUR MOTEL rooms, I stayed behind with Sam in his room, while Lily and Dean went out, God knows where. I didn't mind at first, simply because I knew I needed to spend more time with Sam and attempt to grow my trust for him after everything that happened in the last month and a half. I was still angry with Sam and Lily for the damage they caused, and I most definitely didn't trust either of them the way I did before. I understood that they thought they were doing the right thing by killing Lilith, but the part I found difficult to forgive was that they chose demons over their own siblings, and that was why I had difficulty trusting them again. I was unsure when they would turn on us again, whether it be because they trusted another demon or if it was just their craving for demon blood that was too strong to remain dormant even after the mess it caused.
