Backpack shield? Wait. There's an Icon. It resembling his bag but not quite? Hesitatingly, he touches the item.

The Shield changed. Now it does resembling his backpack. It even made from the same material, except sturdier.

He checked the status.

Naofumi blinked, his mouth left open. It took him a few minutes for his brain to reboot, and the first thing he did was searching for Help Menu. Where is it... where is it... AHA! Here is it!

Legendary Shield Legendary Weapon) have the capability to unlock New Shields by absorbing materials.

Some Shields can only be unlocked by absorbing specific materials

Some Shields can only be unlocked by absorbing specific materials within a specific amount

Some Shields have their ability unlocked after the Wielder reach a certain level

To make things neater, this was placed under the Skill List. Arsenal of Shields: Level Max.

Naofumi spends a better part of the night playing with the Shield. It took him a few tries before he realizes he can change the shield via vocal command. And no, he doesn't have to shout it to the sky. Normal voice and whisper also work, as long as he said it clearly.

As for inventory, it took him three tries before he can get it right.. The Inventory takes shape of a screen with boxes. The item he put in would fill a box with an icon. Maximum items he could carry were twenty, reaffirmed by the twenty boxes aka slots.

Out of those, several of them had been filled.

Wallet. 'A Midsummer Night Dream' book. Three Study Book (each occupies a slot). A Pencil case. Two notebooks (again, each occupy a slot). A laptop plus a charger. A Smartphone. Solar-powered charger plus cable. A mineral bottle (medium-sized). And a bento he bought as lunch. Total fourteen slots. Leaving six empty slots.

Naofumi found the Bento slot has a timer on it.

Further inspection revealed that while a non-consumable item can last as long as possible, a consumable item like food, meat, fruit, etc., has a timer on them to notify how much longer they can last, even with Inventory's Preservation Magic.

Naofumi experimented and found he can put items in inventory by open the clasp in Backpack Shield and proceeds to put an act to put said item in. He experimented with the blanket and pillow and found that weight and size don't matter. Either that or he hasn't hit the maximum limit, which was neat. He also found that he can change the Shield location by willed it so.

It was very productive. And best of all, he was one step ahead of others.

He made a note in the notebook before putting them back to inventory. With a yawn, Naofumi went to sleep.
