"So, (y/n)!" began the third year, who peered down at you with wide eyes. He stood beside your seat, along with Josuke and Koichi. "Any plans for the summer?"
You looked up at him and caught the curious stares from his two friends. "Uhh, I'm not sure. What about you guys?"
"I'm gonna head to the beach! It's summer, ya gotta get a tan and all that hot stuff!" The Nijimura hooted, earning a dismayed expression from Koichi.
"A tan? Okuyasu, you don't need to get any darker!" The platinum blonde fervently protested, earning a languid nod from Josuke.
"What Koichi said. There'll be no end to it when you're complaining 'bout your sunburns, seeing as how you hate the sticky feel of sunscreen."
Okuyasu pouted, "But that stuff always makes the sand stick, Josuke! I can't swim in the sea feeling all icky!"
You merely chuckled at that, returning your attention back to Tomoyo as the three boys bickered. Today she was inspecting her test papers, eyes narrowed sharply. Her long hair was tied into a single braid, and a few coloured clips pushed back her bangs from her window of honey hued orbs.
"You know, we have to do that this weekend, right? We just so happen to need some help, too." She spared a knowing glance at you, and you gasped.
Turning back to the guys, you grinned. "Hey, I have an idea! How about you guys join us at Granny's Orchard this weekend?"
"Granny's Orchard?" They parroted blankly with wide eyed stares.
"Yeah! We're gonna be harvesting the good stuff in the countryside!"
. . .
Your offer was taken up by them much later that day over the phone. You instructed them to rendezvous at the train station, at seven in the morning, where you would be waiting. However, you were running a bit later than expected.
"I told you to set your alarm clock at six thirty, not seven!" Your sibling refuted, her brows creased as an unpleasant scowl consumed her usual mask of calm.
You whined indignantly, "Tomo, I already said I'm sorry!!"
"Sorry doesn't rewind the clock, (y/n)! We're half an hour late!"
The both of you were speed walking to the train station, sneakers squeaking in protest whilst Tomoyo raised her voice recurrently. You could only pout and apologise, seeing as how your excuses only made your little sister raise her voice even louder. She was fuming, hands gripping her backpack's straps with nails crossly digging into it.
Both of you were carrying backpacks stuffed with clothes, toiletries and miscellaneous objects. However...
"And what did I say about bringing an extra bag?! I'm not gonna carry it for you when you're tired!" Tomoyo snapped, making you flinch.
"I-I know, so calm down already! This one's all mine, haha..." You hugged the satchel closer to you, unwilling to expose the being in it.
She barely glanced at you as she set the pace even faster, her hair whipping your face as she surpassed you. Small, short and angry, Tomoyo was murmuring who-knows-what under her breath as she reached the train station before you. With a flick of her wrist, she scanned her train card and slipped past the metallic humps jutting from the tiles.
