"Shut it, you mutt!" Kenny snapped, staring daggers at the white wolf who showed no fear of his threats.

Ziahra narrowed her eyes, but kept going. "Kenny may act like he hates you, but I know he'd never dare lay a single finger on you. And I also believe he'd kill anyone who'd try to harm you."

"That's bullshit," I objected, turning back to Kenny with a pointed finger. "You tried to kill me. That day. On the cliff. Y-.. You gave Levi the order to kill me. And then, you tried to do it yourself!"

Kenny rolled his eyes. "Let's see how long it takes for you to figure it out," he snorted.

My hand faltered. "What?"

"Here's a hint for your dinky brain." I frowned at his words, but listened on. "My eyes."

"Wh-what about them?" I stammered confusedly.

Kenny let out a heavy sigh and looked away, crossing his arms as I racked my brain to remember something about his eyes from a year ago.

What? What about his eyes? He had two back then. He still has two now.

Ziahra nudged me, lowly murmuring, "Their color."

I froze as realization hit me. Red. His eyes were shining red. Blood red. I glanced up, observing Kenny's eyes from afar. He noticed my staring and caught my eyes, an eyebrow raised and a deep frown pulling his lips.

Kenny has silver eyes.

"They were... red."

There was only one thing that was possible. My eyes were red when I got controlled. Levi's eyes were red when he lost control. Does that mean...

"You were controlled by Nightmare?"

"No, it means I was wearing red contacts," Kenny replied in a monotone voice, staring at me boredly.

"You weren't doing all that out of free will," I said out loud, mostly speaking to myself as my eyes fell to the floor. The guilt was slowly building in the pits of my guts the more I thought about it. "And I.... killed the person who.... saved me."

"So what?" Kenny shrugged again. "Better you kill me than I kill all of mankind. You had the right idea. Your idiotic wolf over there was the one who hesitated too long."

"...huh?" I peered to the side, looking at the wolf who lowered her eyes to the ground.

"I had hopes you'd manage to break out of it's grasp. That's why I hesistated to end your life," Ziahra explained in a low voice, keeping her gaze fixed on the floor, her shoulders hunched.

"And because of your pointless hopes," Kenny growled, taking wide steps to the wolf and stopping once he was inches away from her face. "All those people got injured to near death."

Ziahra lowered her head even more and her ears flattened down.

It felt weird and extremely uncomfortable to see the proud wolf look so weak in front of someone that wasn't the Moon Goddess. I stepped in between them, lightly pushing Kenny away.

"Stop it, Kenny," I feebly warned him as I stood in front of my wolf in a protective stance. "I still want to ask you more questions."

The brown hairded man clenched his jaw when I interfered his conversation, but only sighed harshly in response. "What?"

I mustered up enough courage to look at the tall man dead in the eyes. "Why did you... kill all those people?"

"Who?"

"Ms. F-Falida, for starters," I stumbled over my words, feeling my heart ache by even saying her name.

Kenny quirked an eyebrow. "Lilian? Why would I kill her?"
