CHAPTER FIFTEEN- saving the injured ??

Conrad smiles in a week smile. "I will try, but it will not be easy. I have never felt this weak." I leaned forward and gave him a hug.

I will make you a deal, "you get better, and we will host a celebration victory ball. I will make sure every pack is invited with their mateless members. Claire loves to plan parties. We can make it as fancy as you like and no one in your pack will have to lift a finger. We will list for one week after the doc gives you and your men the all clear."

"What if i don't make it."

"First of all no negative thoughts. Second of all we will still host this party in your honor one week after your memorial." The nurse walks in, "going to have to ask everyone to step out. We are going to attach a catheter to you and then the IV."

"I will use a urinal and not a bag," Conrad growls.

My face turns red, "you will listen to the doctor and nurse. Don't be a baby. You cannot get up right now. If you want I will go to the waiting room and come back once they get you all set up.""

"Fine!!! But I am not going to f**king like it."

"Alpha- please remember children can possible hear you." I kiss his cheek and walk toward the waiting room. The curtain is closed.

"Dammit, that thing is cold. Are you sure I need this shit?"

I stop and walk back. I make sure he sees my silhouette. I cross my arms, tap my foot and growl, "Alpha!! Your language their are children present. One more of those type of words I will handcuff you to the bed and gag your mouth."

Apollo walks up to me and says, "I think your the best medicine for him. Tony is talking to that teacher you had. Also they found the wolfbanes and and sent a runner with a bag of it. Your dad is outside with the Wilson Brothers. They got the charcoal lit and burning. Can you take me to the kitchen? I need to get baking soda and distilled water. Once the 50 pounds of charcoal all turns white and starts to break down into ash we will add 5 pounds of wolfs bane. Then when that is turned to ash we add 2-1/2 gallons of distilled water and stir it. Then need to add five pounds of baking soda. Wilson said they have a scale that can be used to weigh the wolfsbane.
We push the IV fluid in him and make him ingest the apple cider vinegar and the charcoal mixture. That one is 1/2 teaspoon of each for him. I am sure all the wolves who got shot with that poison will love that."

The other stuff your teacher was going to fax him that scale. That particular combination goes based on their weight. Your teacher for that college class was very impressed with you. He said you scored a 98% in that class. You know he thinks you should continue that study and go into pharmaceutical. None of the packs have a pharmacy."

"Well I am taking high school classes. Even with having two babies I was able to finish my junior year and start my senior year. With Brett and Bryan's death and the new baby coming. I plan to take summer school and will be able to graduate after the summer. Then take college classes. I want to be able to become independent and raise my girls. Keeping busy is what I need to do to keep the darkness away."

"I never been in your shoes but I have seen several wolves in you shoes through out my career. I think I see you being a success stories, but remember it is ok to cry." He then opens the door and we carry out the stuff.

Dad looks at us. The runner is 5 minutes out. You go in. Don't want you near the wolvesbane.

The doctor then pulls several pairs of rubber gloves out of his pocket. "Put these on before handling the wolves bane."

"Ok dad. I will be in the hospital wing." Then I go inside and walk back to the wing. I looked at the nurse and ask, "did he settle down." She smiles at me and says, "he is an Alpha and not mine. So it irks him he cannot order me around. I swear alphas can be as bad as having a doctor as a patient. I looked at him and said, 'I can do this the easy way or the hard way. Remember what part I am dealing with. Either shut up and take it like a male wolf or be singing soprano. That pain will be so bad you will black out too and be a disgrace as a leader.' After that he did not mutter another word."

I giggle and say, "Nurse Mia, I love you."
Then hug her. "You are one of a kind and know how to keep the tough ones in line. He just doesn't know how great a nurse you are." I then walk in and see he has an IV going in him. Plus the catheter going out. As I stood there Nurse Mia came in and shot the B-12 mixture into the IV. Then said, "now you will need to take one teaspoon of this mixture by mouth every two hours once it is prepared. I will be honest it will taste awful based on the ingredients in it. Tell me your favorite drink and will make sure we keep it here to wash it down with. You will need to do it for the next 24 hours. I want you to take it and we have 52 others to treat with this horrible concoction. Will you lead by example?"

"Bring me some black coffee and I will take the damn shit." He stops, "sorry. I will take the blasted stuff." She bring in a cup of coffee and he takes the stuff once it is brought inside to him and then chugs the coffee down. He looks at nurse Mia, "trying to kill us with this swill." Then looks at me and says, "I am sorry your seeing me like this. I admit I am a horrible patient." He then yawns.

I lean forward and kiss his forehead. "Shhh now go to sleep. I will come and check up on you and the others later on."

When I leave the room I see mom, Emily, Aunt Charmain, and Claire. I go give each of them a hug.  Hey Claire I need your help with..."

She interrupts and says, "I would love too plan the party. How about we make the theme, Royal Carousel Party.  Everyone can dress like a king or queen for the party.  We can use the old warehouse at the edge of the territory and convert it into a childhood play theme. This way it is after their nap. Will make it all sorts of carnival finger food that can be carried around. Don't worry about a thing."

I laugh and say, "thank you. Now the second thing is it will be after all these warriors are out of the hospital here. Doc said that some might be here as long as two months. We have a ball in their honor, but we also make it a find your mate ball. Many of the Lycan are lonely and want a mate.  We make it a week long event. Set up friendly competition and the last event will be the ball where we pay tribute to the Lycan and we have a dance where the newly match are the only ones on the floor.  You work out the details and best timeline with the doctors.  Plus during that week in the city all our hotels take no more reservations. Save them just for werewolves to reserve."

Claire ask, "will you add your name to the list as a potential mate?"

I shake my head no, "I am not ready. I will be wearing widow garb and scent be gone. Plus will have doc give me shots to block any heat during that time since the pup will be born by then."

Emily looks relieved. I look at her and say, "even if I ever get a second chance mate you will always be in my life as my second mom." I then give her a hug and walk toward the hospital wing exit to go down to see my girls.  All the sudden I feel sad and I know their smiles can heal my aching heart.
