"You good?" I asked him. He kept glancing over at Thomas glaring at him, before continuing to eat his meal.
"Yes." He gritted out. I stared at the side of his face for a while, before his emotions entered me and I finally understood.
"You're jealous?" I whispered, a small smile playing on my lips while his cheeks started to redden.
"I am not jealous." He said, shoving a fork full of food in his mouth. His jealousy poured into me again and I giggled softly.
"Oh my god, you so are."
He gave me a flat look before shaking his head in defeat. "He was trying to be charming with you. Subtle, yet teasing at the same time with a hint of humor and that damn wink he gave you... typical." He said, obviously knowing the tricks and flirting styles of men like Thomas since I'm almost certain he once acted like that when he was younger.
I smiled at his self-doubt and his jealousy, not because it was funny, but because what he is feeling indicates that he thinks I'd leave him for someone else which would never happen.
"You have no reason to ever be jealous," I tell him. "You are the only one I've thought about for years. I've invested my time, energy, and feelings into you, so you won't get rid of me that easily." I said, kissing his cheek.
He chuckled, smiling at me widely, "I love you."
After dinner, we started to discuss the plan with everyone present that will be involved. We explained the situation the best we could and went over the blueprints again and again trying to memorize the layout of the facility and the island.
"Okay, so crazy security measures, a telepath and a future teller, RA's with crazy weapons that can potentially get us all killed and as of right now, no safe way off the island without a chance of being caught. Am I missing anything?" Thomas asked, starting to look a bit stressed now that the seriousness of the situation is setting in.
"Nope, that about sums it up," Amaya responded since no one else did.
"This seems impossible." He sighed.
"I know," I said, running a hand through my hair stressfully. "It's also the only way. We get in during the thirty-minute time gap and in that time we shut off their security measures and release the aeteri."
"Okay, so I understand the gravitational disturbance, it's pretty self-explanatory but carbon monoxide in the air, isn't that toxic? How have the RA's survived for so long around it?" Thomas asked.
"They probably use masks to breathe outside. On the flash drive, it shows that whenever an aeteri uses their powers while the chemical is airborne, it brings instant death to them, which means something must be mixed with the carbon monoxide. Straight carbon monoxide isn't deadly to wolves or aeteri, I figured out the science, but they definitely altered it somehow." Amaya explained.
"So then just to play it safe, we wait until we are inside to use our powers then?" I asked and Amaya nodded.
"Let's hope we don't run into trouble on our way in then," Vivien said, looking over at me.
"When we free the aeteri, I want that place destroyed," I say, looking around the room hoping everyone will agree which they did of course.
"How do you want it destroyed?" Rowan asked.
I didn't hesitate, "By fire. An explosion. I don't care who is on that island when it happens, as long as they aren't one of us."
"Gwen, our pack doctor. She can build bombs." Rowan stated.
