Jeno finished surprisingly quickly. He dusted his hands off before undoing his apron. Jeno wore a smile as he climbed the stairs. Jaemin's voice resonated through the halls. His voice was muffled, so Jeno couldn't tell what he was talking about. Jeno reached the door, slowly turning the handle.

"Yoojae, you are so lucky. You don't have a husband to take care of. You don't have to be disturbed in your sleep in the early hours because of his craving. You don't have to face mood swings and such. . ."

". . .what if I didn't get married? What if Jeno wasn't pregnant? Maybe I'll be happier. " Jeno froze, heart patted his chest capriciously.

"Ugh, why do I have to be your friend? Stop being dramatic. " Yoojae sighed from the other side.

"I think I upset Jeno yesterday. He didn't sleep next to me. But that's good since I missed being by myself. You know, sometimes Jeno can get a little too clingy for my taste. " Jaemin said. He glanced at the space next to him. He was too occupied to hear the faint sound of the door closing.

"Wow. Just wow. Na Jaemin, you're an airhead! Talk to Jeno now!" Yoojae screamed. Jaemin winced, dragging his phone away from his ears. "He probably-" Yoojae cut him off.

"SHUT UP JAEMIN! Go, apologize to Jeno! You should be more understanding! You're an ungrateful prick. I'm demoting you from close friend to friend or maybe just acquaintance." Yoojae hissed. He mumbled a curse before he hung upon him.

8:30 a.m

He must head to the kitchen now, Jeno could be up any minute. Jaemin found Jeno sitting by the window, stroking his round stomach. The window was wide open, letting in the gentle breeze. It was a little cold.

"Good morning." Jaemin greeted. The atmosphere was awfully quiet. Guilt rose from his throat as he tried to open his mouth to speak. The cold breeze made him shudder with shame. Words were trapped as his lips formed into a thin line. Shame surged pass through him as he met Jeno's gaze. Jeno was smiling, his eyes turning into crescents.

"Morning." He whispered. Pangs of guilt made him remain motionless in place. Jeno still has a smile. The corners of his lips etched. "Jeno ..."

"Yes?" Jeno asked innocently, tilting her head to the side. Jaemin swallowed the lump in his throat. "I'm sorry." The curtain danced as the wind gusted. Jeno's demeanor was calmed and composed. He felt his cheeks heat up.

"For what?" Jeno muttered, looking away. Repentance hit him like a sledgehammer. "Jeno, I've said stupid things and done stupid things." He admitted as his eyes burned with tears. Jeno didn't utter a single word. "I'm sorry for acting like that. I should have more understanding. " He let his tears fall.

"I'm sorry Jeno. I humbly ask your forgiveness. " Begged Jaemin, looking gloomy while the elderly remained monotonous. The silence was suffocating him. "Jeno." He walks closer, now a foot away, keeping his distance.

"I'm sorry, Nana," Jeno whispered. "I have been selfish. I've been difficult to handle. I was- "Jeno is choking on his sobs, covering her face with her hands.". . . I apologize. I am also at fault. " Jeno continued, sounding like a gibberish as his voice was muffled. "You shouldn't be. I am solely responsible for everything. "

Jaemin assured, as he pried Jeno's hands off of his face. He did it easily. Jaemin wiped away the tears with his thumb. He met his gaze with Jeno's, carding his fingers through his hair. "I am sorry." Jeno's eyes glittered as he sniffed. "I'm the one who is difficult, it was never you," Jaemin said as he squeezed his hands. "Stupid. You're so stupid. " Jeno lightly slapped his chest.

A warm smile spread to his face. "I was. I promise I won't do anything stupid anymore." Jenobeamed from his seat. "I want to be better for you, I'll be betterfor you," Jeno whispered. "Then let'sstrive to be better for each other from now on." Jaemin smiled, eyes brimming with hope.

"I'd like it very much too." Jeno giggled and rested his head against his chest. They were both delighted to have resolved theirmisunderstanding. The skies cleared asthe sun introduced himself, beamed brighter, bringing a feeling of warmth and comfort in themidst of the monsoons.
