Yoongi flashes me a grin before lifting himself off of the bed and slowly shuffling towards the door.
"Don't cry.. Goodnight" I hear him whisper almost soundlessly as he shut the door behind him.
Tomorrow, I need to get my shit together
10:12AM
The bright sunlight washes into the room, I can make out the reflection of small dust particles surrounding the dry air. The smell of food surrounds me.
I feel pretty good
I get up and walk to the bathroom, staring at my tired reflection. I get into the shower, trying to wash off the lingering smell of cigarette smoke that's clinging to my skin and hair.
Who would've thought that even the boys smoke occasionally...
The media ain't shitAfter drying off my wet body, I proceed to put on a change of clothes before unlatching the door as exposing myself to the kitchen that's already filled with chatter. Namjoon is cooking breakfast this time, unlike the usual Seokjin, who is sitting beside him with his hands folded on the table barking instructions on how to cook eggs. I spot Hoseok sprawled out on the couch engulfed in a video game.
My eyes shift to the three youngest members, sitting together a few seats away from Seokjin, each with their own portion of haejangguk - probably to combat the hangover. Yoongi is absent from the morning breakfast occasion.
As soon as my presence is made known, the sound of talking and chatter instantly dies down, as each of the boys switch their stares from me, then to each other, then back to me. The atmosphere reeks of discomfort. Jimin turns his head to face my direction, eyeing me down with dulls eyes, and lifelessly turns back to his breakfast.
"Did you guys sleep well?" I ask in attempt to clear the awkward aura, simultaneously breaking the silence.
"Yeah, though we all still look terrible" Jin is the first to respond, bearing a smile.
"That's the curse of Soju, isn't it?" Hoseok chirps with a laugh.
I make my way towards the seat to the far right, away from the boys, accounting for the discomfort I had unconsciously created. Namjoon quietly motions for my reassurance as per last night, and I nod smiling 'yes' back.
The 7 of us ate Namjoon's cooked breakfast, although it being slightly burned, and endured the breakfast occasion. After being done with their meals, the members dispersed into their rooms, all but one. I couldn't help but glance at Jimin's tired figure from the corner of my eye.
Why aren't you leaving.....
I feel my heart pound as though I was jumping off of a cliff.
Jimin's hand shifts from it's resting position on his unkempt hair towards the table; his head turns to face me.
"y/n, I'm sorry about last night" he voice filled my ears, "I had too much alcohol, and I didn't mean to speak so harshly. However, I wasn't completely lying." Jimin's eyes are met with mine, imprisoning me within his glare,
"I've always said that if another member was added to our group, I would never accept nor welcome them. Bangtan Sonyeondan; the 6 guys.. They're like my family. I hate having my family disrupted. I know you're not a new member or anything like that, but you live here and you surround us constantly, which is a similar feeling. You're causing discomfort and change in emotion.."
What does that even mean
"...and it's interfering with my comfort." Jimin finishes.
Maintaining the intense eye contact we both had now created, I respond to his sentiments with a smile,
"I know, you aren't wrong." I start, "Since moving in here, I've consistently taken advantage of all of your kindness and hospitality. I'm not one to be dependent on others, in fact I despite the idea of asking someone for help- what I'm trying to say is I've become lazy and unmoved to work on getting back on my feet. So thank you, for telling me bluntly what you've been feeling, and for opening up my eyes" I breathe a sigh of relief.
I'm not scared or sad anymore, I feel alive again
Jimin reciprocates my sigh, followed by a grin,
"Good answer", he says as he picks himself off of the chair.
We both exchange civil nods and make our way back to our rooms. I open the door to my room, motivation and drive cascading through my veins like an overflowing tub of water.
Today is the time to advance,
It's the time for change.
