Gone (Sasuke Uchiha x reader)

Chapter five

"You should be taking it easy, not doing any work."

I rolled my eyes and waved him off. "I can't just sit around, there are no chairs available because they're papers in them!"

Sasuke laughed. Shikamaru looked at me. "How did you do this in just a few minutes? We could use this type of fast sorting around here. " He placed a stack of paper in front of Naruto. "These need your signature."

"What about the other piles?"

I stood up from the floor, and Sasuke pulled me into his lap. "Thanks, Sasu-cakes. " I said then looked at Naruto. "I separated them into missions with their payments, stuff I thought was junk, things you needed to sign, and important stuff you actually have to read and... think about."

"Huh... that's a pretty effective system honestly. I think that would make things a bit easier." Shikamaru said. Sasuke wrapped his arms around me and I smiled.

"I wouldn't mind doing this... every day. It gives me something to do." I said with a shrug.

"Well, what about missions? I know you want to get back to that, or something, soon. You were never the type to sit around and let people take care of you." Shikamaru said.

"True... but Sasu-cakes and Naru are being very protective. I doubt they'll be okay with me going on missions, but I was hoping to get a job sometime soon. I know it's been a day... but Naru and Hina have done so much for me already."

"Absolutely not," Sasuke said. "(NN) just let us take care of you for a while." Naruto said.

"Why can't I just work here? I'm not saying starting today but... I do need to get back to... doing life stuff."

Naruto ran his fingers through his hair. "I guess you can be a secretary here... when I think it's time for you to start working. It's been a day, let us take care of you for a little while."

Before I could say anything, there was a knock on the door. "Come in," Naruto said, and I got up off of Sasuke's lap.

A guy, Naruto's kid, and two other kids walked into the room. "Hey, it's you." The kid said.

Naruto smiled. "Guys, this is ___ my best friend! She's been gone for a while, but she's back now!"

"Big sis ___?"

"Uh...?"

Naruto laughed. "(NN) that's Konohomaru!" I gasped and my eyes widened. "Konohomaru? Oh my god."

Konohomaru smiled and I hugged him. "Oh my god! Look at you! You're not a kid anymore!" I looked up at him. "You're taller than me now holy shit!" I said.

"Uhm.. are you okay?" The girl on the team said.

"Huh?" I said, then I realized it. I was crying. Sasuke immediately stood up and wiped my tears then caressed my cheek. "You alright?"

The little girl stared at us, but I ignored it.

"Yea, I just.. I'm sorry." I shook my head and sighed. I sat in Sasuke's seat and he stood beside me. Konohomaru smiled at me and then looked at Naruto. "We just came for our next mission, we can come back later if you want."

"No, it's fine!" Naruto said. He grabbed the stack of missions and flipped through it.

"What are your names?" I asked Konohomaru's team.

"I'm Boruto Uzumaki. It's nice to meet you Miss ___."

I shooed my head. "Just call me ___," I said with a smile.

"I'm Mitsuki."

"And I'm Sarada Uchiha."

"Uchiha?" I said and glanced over at Sasuke. Everyone else in the room paused and looked at me. Sarada nodded.
