"What?" They both said in unison. This only made Eda give a chuckle but go back to being concerned. How else was she supposed to respond to Luz looking so hurt and tired, let alone another kid?

"Your eyes, Amity's clothes, and a bunch of little details I'm not gonna nitpick you for. Now what in Emperor Belos' name happened?" This was the most concerned Luz had ever seen Eda, and she knew that her nor Amity was gonna be able to wriggle herself out of this conversation.

After a long talk about what exactly happened while Eda was out, the girls letting out a few more tears, the conversation finally came to a halt as they had now finished telling Eda the last few bits of the situation.

"Hm, I see." Is all Eda could muster out of her mouth, but now she was only giving Amity a bit of a nasty glare. This made Amity uncomfortable, and in result of that, she was fidgeting until she finally stood up, panicking.

"O-Oh! Well would you look at the time, haha! I-I'd better get going back home-" Amity froze when she mentioned her going back to the place she called 'home.' She thought to herself while frozen, 'Should I really call that place 'home'? "G-Go back h-home... Yeah. Uhm." Amity stuttered on the last bunch of words as she looked towards the door avoiding eye contact with the other two in the room. To Amity, this was all weird because when she mentioned her home, the drive of emotion she had was completely gone. She felt empty and she felt powerless. She felt if she were to go back to that place, she would never be able to get back out. She didn't feel safe, and it started to show due to Amity now shaking in her own boots, not speaking a word as she stared at the door.

"Hey kid, are you okay? S-Sorry for glancing at you all weird. I didn't think someone of the Blight family would act like this over that." Eda said with a tint of regret, thinking it was her fault the young witch is acting all weird and fidgety. "Welp, I'll take it as my uhm, my queue to leave. I'll be in the kitchen if you need me." The owl lady stood up and walked towards the kitchen.

"No, Eda, it isn't your fault." Amity blurted, looking to the side, face fully flushed. "There is one thing I purposefully didn't mention to you when me and Luz were explaining the story." Eda turned around, attention fully on what Amity was saying to her. "And it's the fact that my home makes me, well... uncomfortable. No one there treats me with an ounce of respect, with a pinch of love, or anything. And worst of all, I fear the days my father gets mad because he gets... he gets abusive, sometimes." Amity's face was as red as a fresh cup of apple blood as she was clenching her fists tightly, again looking back towards the door. Luz had been silent the whole time but took a glance at Eda only to see a tinge of anger in her eyes. It made Luz smile seeing as she was feeling that sense of protection over the young witch, especially after today.

"Hm, I see. Geez, kid, all I can really say is I'm sorry. I hadn't known what life was back at home, but I'll say this much." Both Amity and Luz looked back at Eda as she was talking. "You don't have to go home, Amity. Not tonight. You can... You can stay as long as you'd like, or as long as you'd need to. You would be staying in Luz's room, though, is that alright with you both?" Luz had a very troubled face but you could tell she was thinking. Amity had a look of release and if anything, was on the brink of tears again but she knew she shouldn't cry. She probably cried at least a tub worth of tears. But now that the tension, was released, she was immensely tired. "Girls?" Eda said once more, only now realizing her and Luz hadn't given answers.

"I-I'm okay with Amity sleeping here. What about you?" Luz now looked at Amity with a gentle smile awaiting her response.

"I would love to stay her, t-thank you two so much. I-I don't know what to say, o-or how to pay you back, I-" Amity was more than happy to finally stay the night in a place where she felt she could be herself; a place where she felt she could be safe. Eda, though, interrupted her as she butted in mid-sentence. "Don't sweat it, kid. Your safety is my first concern, don't get your skit in a knot, will ya?" Eda looked back at the young witch with a cheeky smirk leaving Amity only to smile.
