"Thank you, thank you so much!"

As the night went on, Amity and Luz had gone to do their own thing. The only feeling that Amity had was pure confusion and she still didn't know why luz was being so nice to her. 'She should hate me', Amity thought to herself. 'I shouldn't even be here, let alone in her room.' The two girls were sitting on Luz's bed, but they weren't talking. Luz had been working on more spell glyphs, but deep down she was afraid of really performing them in front of Amity thinking she would get ridiculed again for what she could manage.
"Light spell..." Whispered Luz as she closed her eyes and tapped on the piece of paper gently, Amity watching in her own amusement, but also in silence. Luz focused on the spell, lifting her hands up with it in hopes to making it a bigger source of light than she could normally manage, and to her surprise, she did. Luz gasped and stared at it in awe, impressed by what she had just achieved.
"Oh my god! Look, look Amity I-" Luz had such a look of hope on her face but then it immediately went away as she realized she was talking to, well, Amity. Recollection of today's events played through Luz's mind and she immediately stopped talking and averted her gaze from the other girl. Seeing this gesture hurt Amity, but did she dare show it? Amity only looked away, getting flushed and feeling as if she messed up everything. Amity knew how horrible she had been to Luz today, and the gestures Luz was returning had her head spinning like crazy.
"Good job, Luz. I-I'm proud of you." Luz froze immediately at the words Amity had just spit out. She turned towards the witch's direction and saw she was looking away, but with her red completely flushed, as well as the tips of her ears.
"W-What? Did I hear that right?" Luz asked, the most confused she'd been all day.
"Yes Luz, you did. L-Look. I'm so, so sorry about today, and I genuinely mean that. Did I want to act that way on purpose? No, I didn't. I never want to act like that but because I was stripped from so much growing up, having myself isolate to work on my studies and pushing those around me out, I guess I just broke, and unfortunately it was on you... I never meant to hurt you, Luz." Amity finally managed to say, her face getting more and more red every single second the human looked at her. "I'm actually really really really proud of you to be able to pull off magic at all! Unlike you who can use glyphs, I still have to use a practice wand from time to time. It really is more flashy than what I could do." Amity chuckled at that last bit, feeling a bit ashamed now that she realized Luz has a more flashier way of doing magic than she does. She was a bit jealous, one could say.
"Gracias, Amity. Realmente significa mucho para mí oírte decir eso." Amity had no clue as to what she said, and for all she knew, it could either be the worst thing that she could hear tonight, or be the sweetest thing.
"What was that, Luz?" She asked confused, hoping Luz would translate what in Belos' name she had just said. Luz set out a little giggle, "It means it genuinely meant a lot for me to hear you say that. I gotta teach you some Spanish sometime, hm?" She returned a warm smile that made Amity's heart flutter.
Wait.
oh no.Amity's face grew more and more red by the second, feeling just a little bit more happier than she probably should be. Truth is, Amity has a little crush on the human girl, Luz. Were she ever to dare mention it? Nah, she wouldn't. Her main focus now after all was to fix what she had done today.
"Well, I'm glad it made you happy Luz!" Amity shared a toothy smile back which made Luz return a big smile, and that sent Amity crazy for just a split second. But as fast as the feeling came, it went away knowing they were gonna have to get into a deeper more understanding conversation.
