"Centerfold..." I breathed.
"The bastard who killed my sister. My angelic sister. The scum who heartlessly trampled her life, soul, and pride. The one who destroyed the world's purest heart. Finally, we meet."
"Are you absolutely sure it's him?" Joseph asked.
Polnareff turned to face Joseph, his grey eyes swirled with anger. "Mr. Joestar. I'll be traveling on my own from here on out," he said sternly, not answering Joseph's question.
"Are you insane?" I exclaimed.
"With my sister's murderer finally within reach, I'll be damned if I'm going to wait for him to come after me. I'm screwed if he gets the drop on me, and that's just not my style. I'll find him first and kill him," he growled.
"But we don't even know what he looks like or what his Stand is," Nori pointed out.
I glanced over my shoulder at Scarlet Phantom and our eyes met. "You better not do what I think you're gonna do," the Stand growled lowly at me.
Without responding, I turned back to face Polnareff and stepped forward. "I'll go with you, Polnareff. I can use Scarlet Phantom to track down Centerfold."
"What did I just say?!" Scarlet Phantom leaped forward and turned me to face her. "You're seriously going to help him out after what he did to us?! Or did you forget about that?!"
"I haven't forgotten, Scar. But, right now, Centerfold will be coming after us. You heard what the Stand user said. He's working for DIO. If you won't help Polnareff, then at least help us track him down," I said with a frown.
"I don't need either of your help. Especially from that Stand of yours." Polnareff spun on his heel, his back now to us. "He's got two right hands. That's enough for me. And don't forget, he knows I'm after him. That should put him on the defensive and give me the advantage. See ya."
As Polnareff started to walk away, Avdol stepped forward to stand beside me and Scarlet Phantom. "Tough talk for a man who's digging his own grave."
Polnareff stopped walking away and glanced over his shoulder. "And that means?"
"Just as it sounds, my friend."
"Are you implying that I'm gonna lose?" The Frenchman turned on his heel and sauntered towards Avdol.
"Yes. Can't you see? The enemy attacked you in order to isolate you. He's exploiting your biggest weakness. I won't let you go alone, Polnareff." Avdol stepped closer to Polnareff until the two men were almost touching foreheads.
"Listen up, I'm only going to say this once; this whole time, I never once gave damn about DIO. I told you in Hong Kong that I would go along with you so I could get my revenge. Mr. Joestar and Jotaro already know this," he said as he pointed at Jotaro and Joseph. "I've been alone from the beginning. I've always been fighting alone."
I stepped forward and pushed the two men apart before turning to face Polnareff. "And what makes you think that you are going to be fighting alone now? I understand that you're not here to fight DIO, and that you're only here for one purpose, but we fight together as a team. If one person fights, we all fight. That is how a team works, and if you don't believe that, then you're as much of a dumbass that I thought you were," I said with a growl.
Polnareff looked down at me. "Why do you even care? You've hated me from the moment we met, why choose to help me now?"
"Because I know what you're going through."
"Like hell you do! Listen here, little girl; this is not your fight. You don't know a single thing about what I'm going through. You're just here to flirt around with Kakyoin and Jotaro and make yourself look like a slut." The men behind me gasped at Polnareff's insult and I felt a hand grasp my shoulder. I briefly glanced over my shoulder to see Scarlet Phantom standing behind me and glaring at Polnareff.
