Ep 44 - Consider [Ch. 9]

The earlier laughing soon devolved into a coughing fit as Naruto attempts and fails to straighten himself in surprise.

"Wait his kids??" Naruto exclaimed.

"So there was once a pair of siblings called Indra and Ashura..."

Kurama continues to tell the tale of the two brothers, and how they both were equally talented in the use of chakra and their love for each other. Eventually one of the siblings would have to succeed the Sage's line, and both could not simultaneously uphold the Hagoromo name.

Ashura had been chosen for his talent and his attitude towards life, while Indra had laid silent and allowed his jealousy to fester. As a result, Indra eventually snapped. He attacked his brother with the intent to take over the legacy instead, trying to prove that he was the better choice as a successor.

"That's one depressing story."

Kurama snorts. "You don't say."

Naruto stood up and dusted off his clothes, which couldn't even accumulate since they were in his mindscape, not the open world.

The blonde gives Kurama a jaunty wave. "Thanks for the info, Kurama! See you around!"

"I literally cannot be separated from you." Kurama deadpans.

"Yeah yeah, whatever. Bye!" Naruto vanishes in a swirl of orange and Kurama huffs out a sigh.

"That little brat."

Sasuke

Sasuke stares at Naruto's still form, looking so calm and peaceful, despite the many tribulations that he had once gone through.

He is no idiot. Sasuke knew why Naruto left the village.

Naruto had snapped once, gone against Konoha in a fit of anger. However, Sasuke had also witnessed the same blonde who had slowly nurtured his heart and healed, away from the place that had hurt him so.

The two years away definitely had done him a lot of good. He looked much more at home now, even if he could see Naruto's lingering hate for the village's people still existed.

It was much more tame now. Compared to when they were still genin of the Leaf Village.

Sasuke stares down at the scroll he had found some time ago in the storage of the mountain base. He's almost done with transcribing the story on the Uchiha tablet as best he could.

Sasuke presumably had been driven out by Danzo, someone who had apparently been afraid of his eyes or something. Or why else would he try to erase Sasuke from the picture? What was his purpose in doing so anyway?

It's not like Sasuke would ever know now anyway. Danzo had tried to kill him indirectly during the Chunin exams after all.

Itachi had told Sasuke that he had an agreement with the Village, to keep Sasuke safe, or Itachi would no longer take their side. (which Sasuke thinks is a lie, it was honestly just a hunch)

At least Sasuke knew, when he was first attacked in his room that night, why they had been using poison-laced knives rather than just straight up trying to kill him. It was because they didn't want it to look like he was killed by another shinobi.

Well, isn't that an ominous thought.

Still, Danzo is clearly gone now, (oh I wonder why-) and there's virtually nothing stopping him from returning to Konoha if he really wanted to.
