Chapter 12: boo's on the balcony

I lifted myself off the sofa I was sat on and walked towards Luigi and wrapped my arms around him. Luigi did the same and we stayed like that for a minute. "W-what's this aura...?"

You heard Luigi ask, I only look down to see my own wounds repairing on their own. "W-what the hell is this!?"

"Stay calm Y/N," E Gadd muttered, "let it happen, also keep hold of Luigi."

I did what E Gadd said and kept a tight hold of Luigi and allowed whatever was going on happen. Soon enough, no pain could be felt. "Can she let go now?" Luigi questioned, The professor gave a nod and the two of you left go.

"M-my wounds have healed?" I whispered. E Gadd then then looked at his monitor.

"Seems so, and the paranormal readings were going bonkers as it was happening." E Gadd then turned back towards you and Luigi, "I don't know if you'll allow me to do this, but could I have a blood sample and run a few tests?"

Luigi's eyes widened, "Y/N do you want to do this?"

"Umm, alright, I-I guess so..." I reluctantly took off my hoodie and threw it onto the sofa, E Gadd took a syringe out of his desk draw and  got the blood sample he wanted.

"Right I'll go and run tests, wait a moment!"

With that he left to another area in his lab, "wait we need to go, you know Mario still needs our help!"

"Y/N, don't worry..." Luigi softly spoke as he put a hand on your shoulder. "We still have at least a few hours."

E gadd then quickly returned, "ok so...Y/N your half ghost..." I stared at him in disbelief.

"W-what? Y/N, did you know this?"

"No, no I didn't Luigi..." I confessed, "if I remember...my father was a ghost, but my mother said that he died when I was born. Guess that was a lie and he was a ghost before I was even born."

"Do you remember who your mother is?" E Gadd questioned.

I shook my head, "I can't remember her name, she was human but died when my father left..."

"Your father left your mother?" Luigi muttered, I turned towards him and nodded. "Why?"

"It's a long story...but when I became around the age of...16 my mother got obsessed with the idea of me marrying King boo as one, he loved me, and two, my mother wanted me to be with someone who was royalty, and because of me being half ghost and we were a rich family..." I looked at the ground, my arms folded. E Gadd shook his head in sympathy and Luigi didn't have any words.

"So my father, disgusted by my mother's actions was going to leave and take me with him, however King boo took him somewhere and I never saw him ever again. My mother then passed away and became a ghost, and as soon as I was 19 I was given to king boo, however we weren't married yet."

"What happened next?" Luigi questioned, E Gadd looked at the plumber.

"I think I know what comes next, carry on would you please?" I gave a small, quick nod.

"I was actually being kept in a casino, on island delfino, and Mario went on that island for a vacation, you should know the rest, King boo was defeated Mario saved me and I was able to go back to the mushroom kingdom with him and peach. And I've been living with Luigi for 4 years now, as he was 21 when we first met."

The two men were silent, "that's tragic on what happened to your father, yet you can't remember your mother's name?" E gadd questioned.

"I don't know why, yet I feel like I don't remember her because of the awful things she caused...and yet both of my parents lied and made me thing I was purely human, yet I'm a half ghost who's sucking up ghosts with a vacuum...I'm guessing Luigi would be fearing me now..."

Luigi's eyes filled with surprise and confusion, "why would I fear you? Even if you are half ghost I wouldn't hate you, I've always been your greatest friend and I wouldn't leave you because your different!"

"Thanks Luigi..." I gave him a soft smile, E Gadd was sniffling, and was seen wiping tears from his eyes.

"That's so beautiful, when are the grand-kids coming?"

"E Gadd!" Me and Luigi both yelled in unison, E Gadd chuckled.

"Well I hope you guys are hungry cause I was preparing food when the two of you were fighting Boolossus. Pickled dandelions with barnacles in a diesel marinade!"

"That sounds...very strange but I'm very hungry," I stated as E Gadd handed me and Luigi a plate with the strange meal on.

As we started eating Luigi looked towards me, "actually, Y/N do you have any other abilities? Since your half ghost?"

E Gadd stopped eating for a moment, "well the results mentioned the healing and fire abilities, but you can also turn into a ghost cat, meaning you can go through walls, floors, ceilings and you can blend in with other ghosts!"

"Well that's...actually amazing!" I said happily, Luigi gave a warm smile and nodded. We then all continued to eat our strange food.
