One of his eyes flickered blue for a split second then returned to their normal appearance. He turns his head to me clearly still dazed from his nightmare.
"Sans is everything okay-"
Not even bothering to answer he pulls me into a tight embrace pulling me onto his lap. His hold was so tight that I barely noticed him trembling.
I tried to push myself up into a more comfortable spot but he refused to budge.
"N-no please. Can we just stay like this for a bit? Just a little longer..." his voice was coarse and his grip tightened if that was even possible.
I stayed and rubbed his back gently to calm him down. A few minutes later and he seemed better. "Sans can you please let me go real quick I'm gonna get something for you."
He stayed silent and let go. I hastily went to the kitchen and got the tea that I had originally prepared for myself and made my way back to the couch.
I hand him the mug. "Here."
He gently grabs it and slowly took a sip. He looked even more exhausted than before.
"is- is this lavender?" His voice was still hoarse.
"Mhm it's known to calm the mind."
I sit down next to him. "Do you wanna talk about that nightmare?"
He lowers the mug to his lap but still held on to it. "I-... I do. But you wouldn't believe anything I tell you."
"Sans." I place my hand over his and he made eye contact with me for the first time since he woke up.
"I used to believe that magic and monsters were not real. And here I am. I think I am capable of believing anything you tell me. Besides even if I don't I will still be here for you."
He looks away and put the mug onto the coffee table. He takes a sharp breath.
"In my dream, I saw you die."
"Okay that's kinda normal. I mean it's still a bad dream but everyone gets one eventually. So what happened?"
"No I don't think you understand yet. You see. There is this... currently in the ... ugh why is it so hard to explain!" He covers his face in frustration.
"Just one step at a time. Start with the dream okay?"
He nods as he took a deep breath. "Okay in my dream Frisk was evil and she killed everyone in the underground."
I nod still confused and let him continue.
"She killed everyone. Undyne, Mettaton, P-paps.... and then she made her way to the judgement hall. Where I had to step in and fight her. But everytime I killed her she came back and then she started to mention you. I know this makes no sense what so ever but, she had done this before and, before she had never met you. She began to say she was gonna hurt you and I got scared and angry. But all my fighting was in vain because in the end I lost. . . Normally the nightmare ends. But this time it didn't. Instead I was a spectator. And I couldn't do nothing as I watched her hurt you." His eyes got teary but he quickly wiped them away.
"Okay so in your dream Frisk was a murderer but, what do you mean she had done this before?"
"Okay you know that her soul trait is determination right?"
"Yeah kinda."
"Well because of her soul trait, anyone who is the most determined in the underground has the ability to come back when they die. Frisk happens to be the most determined so she has this ability. But that's not the only thing she can do. She can also control time. Well, kinda. She can ,what we call, reset a timeline back to the beginning of when she first fell into the underground. With this power she would make different choices after every reset. At first she was kind to everyone."
