For the next hour, Naofumi would lure a small monster and made Raphtalia popped them up. Proving that Practice Make Perfect was a true fact, with Raphtalia's stance getting firmer and less shaky the more she attacking the monsters.

"Good," Naofumi said. "I'll be away for a moment. While I'm gone, you will be responsible for defense against monsters. The monsters around here were the balloons, which you already know how to deal with, and some mushrooms monster. You'll do just fine. If it was some adventurer, don't make noise."

It was still evening. If he walks fast he can gather some herbs and made medicine. Perhaps get some water and fish while he was ai i—hm?

"W-we aren't abandoned... right?" Raphtalia asked, tugging at his cape.

Naofumi rolled his eyes. "If I would abandon you, I won't teach you how to fight or giving you a weapon." Was his dry reply. He shakes her off and went on his way.

It took him some time to gather the needed herbs, but without Mush Shield, it would be harder to categorize herbs from common weed, much less poisonous plants. When he got into the river, he uses Fishing Shield to gather fish faster, and while waiting for fish, he gathers some water.

He hopes it will be fine. He DID bathe here, after all, but hey, water flows and all that stuff, right?

He also took some time to pick fallen branches and twigs to make into firewood.

When he returned, Raphtalia seems to brighten a little. Naofumi saw some more balloon skin littered near the entrance.

"Good job." He patted her head and handed her some wood. "Make us fire outside. If there's a monster you can't deal with, just scream."

Raphtalia nodded and began making fire. It was quite hard with the wood Naofumi brought, but she had to make use of it. That's all they have for now.

Meanwhile, Naofumi checked over the boy's condition.

No good. He was still as pale as a corpse with his chest barely rises and fall.

Naofumi quickly put out the compounding tools he got and the herbs.

He mixed some herbs and berries with Orranise as the main ingredients and then pour some water into them. Resulting in a goo something.

See? Even the Shield know it was not good. But at least it was something...

Naofumi lifted the boy and shake him roughly. Black eyes fluttered open with great difficulties. Huffing, Naofumi pushed the medicine to the boy's mouth, made him drink it whether he wants or not.

It seems to be working, as the boy seems to breathe a little better.

Settling the boy back, Naofumi returned to the compounding stuff. Not without taking out his notebook and pen and scribe down the recipe.

He tried making another medicine. Ginger, a few Aelo, something called Shrubbery (Naofumi swear the name creativity was all-time low), and a few stuff. Randomly pick stuff and weighed them in scales, writing it down, before taking the medicine.
