A New beginning

chapter 25

" This is all Stacy's doing. I told you she was blackmailing him. "

" Yes I remember, and I think you should do something soon before your parents go broke. You should help him this time around, he looked so helpless. "

" I think you are right. Helping him  will be one way of making Stacy pay. "

We spend the afternoon chatting and after dinner, George leaves. 

Stacy has been out  the whole day, and my guess  is that she's out misusing the money Dad gave her.That is actually kind of a blessing since I  need to talk to Dad without any interruptions.

Mum is up in her room resting while Dad is in his office. This is definitely the right time to talk to him .

" I need to talk to you, " I say walking in the room.

" Okay.. "

" Am not going to beat around the bush , and so I need you to tell me why Stacy is black mailing you. "

" What?!  She isn't black......

" Cut the bullshit Dad, and tell me the truth!," I say slamming  the table . I usually do that a lot when am pissed off. "I over heard you talking to her the other day in your office so don't bother lying. What does she have against you?"

" Okay, " he says, sighing softly and leaning on the chair. " Stacy found out that i have another son. "

" What?! You have another son?!

This guy never ceases to surprise me!

" Yes, and the only reason am entertaining Stacy is because of your mum. I don't think she'll be able to handle it ."

" I really don't think that would affect her that much. She already knows what kind of a man you are. "

" It's actually, way worse than you think," he says very seriously.

" Way worse?!  Wow! I don't think  anything could be worse than that. "

" It's a very long story," Dad says.

"Believe me, I've got all night," I say sitting down.

" You have to promise not to tell your mum about it first. "

" Come on Dad, you know I'll never do anything that'll hurt her in any way, especially not now. "

" Okay, Your mums sister and I had an affair 25 years ago and that's how your brother was conceived. "

My brother?! That sounds so weird.

"What are you talking about?  Mum doesn't have any siblings ."

" Actually  she does have a half sister, Ashley . They've never been able to see eye to eye. They always fought over everything as children and the hatred grew with them. Your aunt is dead to your mum and that's why she never talks about her. "

" Okay....continue. "

" Your mum was already three months pregnant, when Ashley got pregnant .All she wanted was to ruin your mums life by stealing me away from her, but I   didn't have the guts to leave your mum. Ashley threatened to tell your mum but she knew that it was her words against mine and there no way she'd win.Since she was carrying my child, I offered her a large sum of money to leave us alone, and also bought her a house ."

" Do you still see her. "

" Yes, but only for my son .Most of the time that am away ,am usually with your brother. "

" And you're sure mum doesn't know about this,You know you should never underestimate her."

" She doesn't. I did everything i could to hide it from her. "

" So just to be sure, Do you have any more children out there? "I ask and he looks at me shaking his head.

" No, I dont."

" Okay, so how did Stacy find out. "

" Your brother moved to the city and owns a club not far from here. Stacy was at the club one day, when I had gone to see him and she over heard him calling me Dad. She cornered me asking a lot of questions and I didn't have a choice but admit that Nick was really my son. I  don't know how she found out about Ashley, though, since I didn't tell her anything. "

" Typical Stacy. She always finds away to get whatever she wants ," I say rolling my eyes. " But wait did you just say Nick?!

" Yes ,why?

" What is the name of the club? "

" club Deluxe. "

I just can't believe it!  Nick, vees boss is my brother!

" Did Stacy by any chance ask you to fire someone from the club? "

" Yes, "

So, vee was right. Stacy got Lisa fired and it was all my fault.

" Okay, I'll find away out of this, " I say as I get up and leave his office.

Wow?!How am I supposed to take in all this? I think my head ache is here to stay.

  I mean, it's not everyday you wake up and find out you have a brother/ cousin  and an aunt, who you knew nothing about for 25 years !

This is all so crazy.
