"She'll be fine. Just tell her."
"I have to figure out a way to do it. The right way."
"It'll be ok Spence. Stop worrying so much,"
JJ said, standing up and giving him a hug. Spencer nodded and followed JJ to the door, kissing her cheek before closing the door. You walked down the steps from the spot where you had been watching the exchange."Hi pretty girl. Sleep well?" Spencer asked as you entered the kitchen. You nodded, reaching for the coffee cup. "How's your day look?"
"I have to go to Georgetown to finish setting up my lab. It should only take an hour or two," you said, taking a sip of coffee.
"I'll drive you if you want? I have some business at Georgetown."
"I can drive myself," you snapped, the words from the morning circling in your head.
Spencer frowned, kissing your forehead. "Ok baby. Mind if I come with then?"
You nodded, Spencer's fingers tapping along the bottom of your spine. You shivered, your hand pressed against his chest. "I'm going to go change," you whispered, moving out of his hold.
"Oh I wish you wouldn't," he yelled after you. You turned and shook your head at him, his words making you grin.
You walked upstairs and changed into a skirt and a blouse. You put on some converse and tied your hair up in a ponytail. You walked into the bathroom to put some mascara on.
Spencer followed you in, his arms wrapping around your midsection, his hand rubbing your stomach softly. "It's nice to have a day with you," he whispered, kissing your neck.
"Spence, did I hear JJ this morning?" You asked, feeling Spencer tense.
"Yeah, she stopped by for a little."
"Hmmm, that's nice. How's Henry? And will?"
"They're good. You should've came and said hello," Spencer said resting his head on your shoulder.
"I was not in a state of hosting," you whispered.
"I guess you're right. If you didn't have to go in, our morning would have ended very differently."
You blushed, turning in his arms. "Spencer!"
"Don't act like you don't like it when I say things like this."
"Spencer I don't like it," you said, playing with his hair. "I freaking love it. It's hot."
"How on time do you have to be?" Spencer asked, bending his head to kiss your neck.
"I have to accept a shipment in 30 minutes. How about when we get home?"
"Ok baby," Spencer whispered, pulling away before walking into his closet and changing into a button up and dark grey pants. You blushed, watching him walk into the room as he did his tie. You loved how this pair of pants fit him, they were tight in all the right places. "What are you staring at?"
"Honestly? Your butt," you said with a smirk. Spencer blushed, looking at you with his mouth slightly open.
"Y/N!"
"What? You look good," you said, picking up your purse. Spencer grabbed you, holding you in his arms, one of his hands resting lower than usual. "Spencer, getting a little frisky are we?"
"What? You get to ogle mine."
"Touché. But we seriously need to leave," you whispered, pecking him quickly. He frowned but nodded, linking his hand with yours as you walked out to the car. You drove to Georgetown, parking in your spot. The entire ride was spent discussing a new lab technique with Spencer, meanwhile your head was thinking about what JJ had said this morning. What could their conversation have been about?
"Y/N," Spencer said, breaking your trance.
"Hmm?"
"I said, I have something to get from a criminology professor for my upcoming lecture series. I'll meet you at your lab afterwards?"
"Sounds good babe," you said, stepping out of the car. An hour later, you had finished up at the lab. You called Spencer, trying to find where he was. "Spence, where are you?"
"Sorry, I got sidetracked working on my lesson plan. I'm in L213 of the criminology building if you want to meet me here?"
"Yeah, be there in a few," you said, walking to his location. You walked in to see Spencer leaning against the podium, looking over some papers. "Ready to go home?"
"One second," Spencer said, flipping through pages. You walked over, looking at them.
"Spence? Weren't these the same notes from the first lecture you gave me?" You asked. Spencer looked up, nodding gently before bending down.
"Y/N, I knew from our first interaction in this very room that you were someone I wanted to get to know," he began, reaching for your hand.
"Spencer," you muttered, shaking your head, tears welling in your eyes as he opened the ring box.
"You're everything I want in life and more, you're perfect. And you decided that I was worth your time. Thank you, pretty girl, thank you so much. I love you with my whole heart, ventricles and all. So, will you, miss Y/F/N, do this man with terrible posture the honor of marrying him?"
You were sobbing at this point, nodding furiously as Spencer slid the ring onto your finger, pressing his lips to your hand.** He stood up and pulled you into his arms, kissing your head.
"I cannot believe you agreed to marry me," Spencer muttered.
You looked up at him and caressed his face gently. "You've known I'd say yes from the moment I said I love you. I'm yours, Spencer, forever."
Spencer smiled and kissed you. "I've never done it in a lecture hall," he whispered in your ear, biting your earlobe.
"Spencer!" You shrieked, pulling away from him. He grinned, kissing you softly.
"I'm kidding. Let's go home?" He asked, letting you out of his arms. You nodded, locking your fingers with his.
"Hmm, home sounds good. JJ and you were talking about this this morning weren't you?"
"Yeah." Spencer said, kissing your hand. "I was worried for no reason."
"Yeah," you replied as you got to the car. "There's a gift waiting for you at home."
"Is there?"
"Oh yeah, and I think you'll like it," you said, leaning against him. He blushed, opening the door for you. When you got home, Spencer was in for the treat of his life.
