Chapter 34: The Giant

We all began to stand up again as he continued, "Brought you some company."

Grawpy looked down at us smiling before starting to run towards us. We all quickly moved backwards as he got closer, stopping as Grawpy was stopped. I then noticed he was looking at a rope that was tied to him, linking him to a tree.

"I couldn't just leave him, because-" Hagrid paused, "Because he's my brother."

"Blimey," Ron said as Grawpy looked back at us.

"Well, half brother, really," Hagrid said, walking beside us as Grawpy began to walk forward again, "He's completely harmless, just like I said. Little high-spirited, is all."

We all began walking backwards again as he got closer, but then Hermione tripped, grabbing onto me. We grabbed onto each other as we fall backwards, and suddenly both of us were being grabbed by Grawpy.

Hermione and I screamed as we were brought high up, close to his face. "Grawpy that is not poilite," Hagrid scolded lightly.

"Hagrid, do something!" Ron shouted.

"We talked about this. You do not grab, do you?" Hagrid continued, "Those are your new friends, Hermione and Y/n."

I turned around, giving Hagrid a worried expression, as I noticed Ron pick up a strong branch. Ron ran forward, swinging the branch at Grawpy's leg, causing the branch to break.

"Grawpy!" Hagrid continued to scold.

Grawpy then kicked Ron backwards, onto the ground. I looked back towards Grawpy as Hermione said sternly, "Grawp!"

Grawpy gave Hermione his full attention as she continued, pointing her finger in his face, "Put us down!"

Everyone sat in silence, Hermione looking at me without turning her head, as if she was trying to tell me something. I then realized what she wanted me to do, continuing sternly I said, "Now!"

Grawpy looked between us before lightly setting us back on the ground. We both backed up, between Harry and Ron. "You alright?" Ron asked, turning to look at both of us.

"Fine," we said in unison.

"Just needs a firm hand, is all," Hermione said.

"I think you've both got an admirer," Harry said.

Grawpy began rummaging through things, that I'd assume were his, as Ron said defensively, his voice cracking, "You just stay away from them, alright?"

Grawpy turned around, holding a handlebar, before ringing the bell on it. He then leaned down, handing it to Hermione. Grawpy looked at her expectantly, holding his finger.

After a few moments of silence, Hermione rung the bell. Grawpy smiled before looking over at me. I reached over, ringing the bell, before looking back up at Grawpy, smiling.

"He gets his own food and all," Hagrid started as Grawpy rang the bell while sitting down, "It's company he'll be needing when I'm gone."

Grawpy continued to ring the bell as Hagrid asked, "You will look after him, won't you? I'm the only family he's got."

Harry, Hermione, and I nodded to his question while Ron just shrugged. We all left the Forbidden Forest, saying goodbye to Hagrid. As we walked back to the Gryffindor common room, Harry left to go and see Snape, so Ron, Hermione, and I continued on our own.

As we walked into the common room I noticed that there were a lot of people in the main room, not including Fred or George. "See you guys later," I said, waving goodbye to Ron and Hermione.

Looking around the room again, I noticed Lee, so I walked over to him. "Hey, Lee," I said approaching him.

"Hey, Y/n," Lee responded.
