Bucky just chuckled. I slowly peeled myself off the floor, gagging at the sweaty imprint of my body on the mat and trudged upstairs to have a shower. I undressed and stepped into the shower. I felt the water run down my body and I slowly started to regain some energy. I played with the water, making droplets float in mid-air.
Once I had run out of hot water (oops) I got out and towelled off. Exhausted from my training, I flopped onto my bed and passed out.

A few hours later I woke up breathing heavily. I shook my head looking at my alarm clock. The numbers read 2:36am. I sighed. Another nightmare. I grabbed my book off my nightstand and headed to the library for the millionth time this week.
I was slightly surprised to find Loki reading on the f/c chaise. He looked up from his book and I gave him a smile. He gave a tentative smile back and returned to reading. I sat down on a couch and began reading as well.
"Why are you here so late?" he asked me a while later.
I hesitated. What should I tell him? I wasn't going to tell him what happened in my nightmares – I didn't know him well enough. But I wasn't going to lie. He was literally the god of mischief and lies. He would know. Plus, I didn't want to lie to him.
"Nightmares," I said with a shrug. "What about you?"
Loki seemed slightly surprised at my answer.
"I don't need to sleep as often or as much as Midgardians," he replied.
"Really? Why's that?" I asked, curious.
He looked at me with a small amount of disgust.
"I am a god," he replied with a slight sneer.
"Right," I said, slightly offended at his tone, and continued reading my book.
"These Harry Potter books are quite good," Loki said to me a few minutes later.
I looked up and realised he was on the last book.
"Oh?"
"Yes, although the magic is incorrect. You do not need incantations," he scoffed.
"I wouldn't know," I said, amused.
Loki raised an eyebrow.
"I thought you were a witch."
I burst out laughing, almost falling off my chair.
"What is so funny?" Loki asked me, confused.
"That's my sister, not me," I replied.
Loki furrowed his brows.
"Your sister is a witch?"
I explained to him that my sister's hero name was merely Scarlet Witch and that she wasn't actually a witch.
"Why did you think I was a witch anyway?" I asked.
Loki took a moment to answer.
"Thor told me about your... abilities. Being able to control the elements and healing is highly associated with witches," he replied, cautiously.
"I'm not a witch. Just an experiment," I muttered darkly.
Loki opened his mouth to reply, but a shrill "y/n!" rang through the library.
"Well, that's my cue," I said, grabbing my book and waving goodbye.
I ran out of the library, and bumped into the owner of the voice, Wanda.
"Wands!" I said, faking my innocence. "What are you doing here?"
"What am I doing here? What are you doing here? And who were you talking to?" she bombarded me.
"Uh... I was reading. I couldn't sleep. And, uh, I was talking to Loki," I said sheepishly.
"Loki? What have I told you about him? He's-"
"Evil? A liar? Maybe he was. Thor has told us that he was under mind control during the attack-"
"HE STABBED THOR WHEN HE WAS EIGHT!" she shrieked.
I started giggling.
"This is probably the stupidest conversation we've ever had," I said brushing past her.
"No, it's not," Wanda said, grabbing my arm. "Listen, I just want you to be safe."
"I am being safe! He's here to help us not hurt us. He's only been kind to me. Sort of," I mumbled the last part.
Wanda just sighed and ruffled my hair. I playfully glared at her and she smiled at me. Sure, she was overprotective, but she was just looking out for me.
