Chapter 43: The Battle of the Seven Potters

Start from the beginning

We all walked outside, Harry letting Hedwig fly away. Hagrid and Harry rode on Hagrid's motorcycle while Fred, George, Arthur, Lupin, Tonks, Ron, Mundungus, Moody and I rode on brooms, and Bill, Fleur, Kingsley, and Hermione rode on Thestrals.

"Head for the Burrow, we'll rendezvous there," Moody explained in the middle of everyone, "On the count of three!"

"Hold tight, Harry!" Hagrid shouted while kicking on the engine.

"One!" Moody started, "Two!"

I looked at Fred nervously and he gave me a reassuring smile before I turned back towards Moody as he shouted, "Three!"

Everyone on brooms took off immediately, followed by the motorcycle and Thestrals. We soared through the clouds, suddenly being met with at least thirty Death Eaters who seemed to have been waiting for us. Thunder crashed as curses were being thrown everywhere, the Death Eaters desperate to find Harry.

I stuck close to Fred, protecting him from any incoming spells. Tonks was being chased by a Death Eater and I angled myself in order to help her, shouting, "Stupefy!"

I watched as the Death Eater fell off of their broom, falling towards the ground. Turning my attention back to Fred, I watched as he pointed his wand behind me, shouting, "Bombarda!"

Alarmed, I looked behind me, watching as a Death Eater's broom exploded, causing him to plummet towards the ground. I made a mental note to thank him for saving me later as I continued to watch him and our surroundings.

Everyone fought violently for their lives as thunder and lightning crashed throughout the sky. Suddenly the Death Eaters stopped, flying away and into a different direction. Multiple strikes of lightning coming from black smoke shot towards transmission towers, knocking nearly all of them down.

I looked around as everything went eerily silent, Fred signaling me to follow him. Following Fred and Arthur we landed safely. Immediately after I landing in the field Fred ran up to me, still looking like Harry.

Fred took a hold of my face, examining every inch of it. When he knew I was okay he cupped my face with his right hand, just as his face began turning back to normal. I smiled as I took off the glasses he was wearing, "There you are, love."

He smiled while saying, "I'm so glad you're okay," before looking over at his father.

"Is it alright if we kiss with him here?" Fred asked as he turned back to me.

I chuckled, "Not like we haven't done it before."

"Great," Fred said before leaning in, giving me a quick but loving kiss.

When he backed away he let go of my face, holding onto both of my hands, "I don't know what I would do if I'd lost you."

"You're not getting rid of me that easy," I said with a smirk.

"I better not," Fred said as he let go of my hands and wrapped his arm around my shoulder, walking over to Arthur.

"Ready?" Arthur asked while holding out his arm.

We both nodded before taking a hold of it, apparating to the Burrow. When we arrived Arthur looked around while asking, "We the last back?"

"Where's George?" I asked confused when I noticed he wasn't with them.

When no one responded, all of our smiles dropped, Fred becoming terrified as we both ran towards the house. We walked into the room seeing George laying on the couch, blood oozing where his ear used to be, while Molly ran her fingers through his hair.

I covered my mouth and froze, standing next to Arthur. Fred quickly ran over, setting his wand onto the coffee table before kneeling down next to George. By now everyone else had come into the room, but I wasn't focused on anyone but George.

Uncovering my mouth I quickly walked over to them, kneeling down next to Fred as he asked, "How you feeling, Georgie?"

"Saint-like," George responded with his eyes closed.

"Come again?" Fred asked confused.

"Saint-like," George repeated while opening his eyes, "I'm holy. I'm holey, Fred."

Pointing to his nonexistent ear, George asked, "Get it?"

Fred and I chuckled slightly before Fred said, "The whole wide world of ear-related humor, and you go for 'I'm holy.' That's pathetic."

"Reckon I'm still better-lookin' than you," George said weakly.

Bill stepped forward saying grimly, "Mad-Eye's dead," pausing for quite a while before continuing, "Mundungus took one look at Voldemort and disapparated."

I looked from Bill back to George, who gave me with a hopeless look. I comfortingly rubbed George's arm, giving him a reassuring smile while the room went silent.

Eventually the silence subsided, but the grim mood didn't. I helped Molly clean up George, wiping his face of all of the blood while she washed the blood stains out of the couch and clothes. After that everyone was extremely tired, and headed up to bed for the night.

Fred, George, and I didn't fall asleep very fast. We whispered things to each other while I laid on Fred's chest, my head snuggled into the crook in his neck. Eventually we all fell asleep, all in the middle of a lazy conversation.
