(HAWKS POV)
"Shut up"
It's been about a week since Boss Lady introduced him to (y/n). She refused to be called (l/n), and didn't have a hero name. Or a villain name, for that matter.
"I'll throw you out the fucking window, X. You little shit"
Hawks had met his fair share of odd people. But, this one was was, by far, the weirdest. She was always talking to herself - or her quirk, which they still haven't identified - and she has a tendency to say some not-so-nice things to whoever she's talking to.
"Hey, Keigo!"
The hero flinched, almost wincing at the mention of his forgotten name. "You can't call me that in public"
They were currently on their second ever patrol. (y/n) made it very clear that she doesn't want to deal with the press, or gain any public attention. So, reluctantly, Boss Lady authorized nightly patrols.
"I think... I think I figured out why you hate me!" she proudly said, locking eyes with his golden ones.
"That's stupid. Why would you think that I hate y-"
"You can't lie to me. And that bothers you" she smirked, before poking his nose with her index finger, and giggling happily.
There's no way this person is sane.
"I-"
"Don't respond to what I just said. Instead, just think about it. I'm gonna go check them shady-ass alleys over there" she sauntered off, practically skipping off into the 'shady-ass alleys'.
Hawks had learned several things about (y/n) in the past week. She'd only been let out yesterday, but they still talked quite a bit during her confinement. Boss Lady thought it would be a good way for him to gain her trust, and some insight on what might have motivated her to resort to murder. Apparently, she'd been drunk, but she didn't seem to have chosen her victims haphazardly; nothing connected them to each other, or to her, but the killings were spread out all over the city. If one thing is for sure, it's that more happened that night than the authorities were let in on.
One thing that Hawks learned was that she didn't seem to give a damn about the way she was perceived. Or, perhaps, she did, but wanted to convince him that she was just as carefree and easygoing as he is. (y/n) was also incredibly difficult to decipher. She didn't give out any information, and avoided questions about her past. She interrupts everyone, too. Especially the HPSC members, including Hawks.
"AYOOOOOOO BITCHES! ANYBODY THERE?!?!" the newbie hero screeched. Her mentor sent out a feather to shut her up.
"For someone whose quirks depend on secrecy, you're awful at this"
"And, for someone whose job is to teach me to become a hero, you don't seem to be doing shit. Or making any efforts to be nice to me"
"So you don't remember yesterday?" he quirked up on of his bushy eyebrows.
Keigo was, admittedly, a bit excited for his new task. All he has to do is be nice, befriend (y/n), and life was good. More heroes on the streets, less work for him.
"So, you ready for your first day out in the real world, kid?" he grinned, watching as engineers stepped away from the woman. They'd recently installed that tracking device, and that meant that she was allowed to leave.
"I..." she rubbed at her wrists, relishing in the fact that there was nothing restraining it.
"Don't sweat it. Society hasn't changed much from the last time you've been out. And I'll be right here, too, if you need anything"
