I looked into his green orbs, which turned darker than their usual shade. I gulped involuntarily. Jason tightened his hold around my waist, almost pulling me to him and sending a shiver up my spine.
"Ja. Jason" I lowered my gaze to his chest unable to bear the intensity of his eyes. His hands left me instantly and he took a step back from me. He turned away from me and I saw him raking his hands in his hair in frustration from the corner of my eye.
The few people on the road gave weird looks our way probably thinking monkeys would act better than us. I looked longingly at the melted tiny green liquid on the road.
"Go and sit in the car," Jason ordered me. I followed his order. I took the paper towels from the glove box and started cleaning my face. Jason came and sat behind the wheel and extended the three ice cream cones to me, including chocolate. This guy is sure suffering from a multi-personality disorder.
I accepted without a word. He cleaned himself in silence as I ate my ice creams. There was this weird silence in the air which none of us tried to break, at least I don't know how to. I mumbled goodnight to him and dashed to my room without even waiting for his response after reaching home.
I sat in my bed unable to sleep. Chiding myself for the past 2hours in bed didn't help me make peace with my actions and go to sleep. I decided to call Ryan to get my mind off things. He didn't pick my call. I ain't the one to give up so I kept calling him continuously.
"Dude you are disturbing me. Things are getting steamy in here. Leslie is here for movie night and things took a different turn. So don't call me unless you are dying." He rambled on and cut the call.
"Asshole" I gritted my teeth. What if I'm really dying? He didn't even ask me why I called him. So much of a best friend.
I tried calling Sophie and got an "I have a test tomorrow. I'm gonna call you after that" response.
I called Dia who had the nerve to cut my call and later send a message saying 'in a lecture' fucking timezone!!
My life is pathetic! I don't have anyone to talk with and change the course of my thoughts from Jason.
After much pondering, I concluded that it's better if I stayed away from Jason. That will put these bizarre happenings between us to rest.
Friday, I left early for my class so that I won't run into Jason at breakfast. Now I have to finish my dinner before he reached home and escape to the cocoon of my room. But my plan backfired to see Jason already at home sprawled out on the sofa watching the news.
I dashed to the kitchen and stayed with Stella the whole time. After she left, I groaned loudly in the living room about my assignment and went back to my room.
I thought to arrange all the clothes in my walk-in closet in a rainbow color order and halfway through I got bored and shoved everything in. I stayed in my room till my stomach started growling. But I have to stick to my decision.
The ping on my mobile grabbed my attention. I checked to see a message from Jason.
*Can we have dinner? I'm starving.*
*I have so much work to do. You carry on... I will have later* I replied to him and landed on my bed trying to calm down my rumbling stomach with water and my backup chips.
After an hour I walked downstairs to see Jason still on the couch watching some footy match. I could grab my plate and sneak back to my room. But to my astonishment, Jason came to grab his plate too.
"You didn't eat?" I asked him.
"Waiting for you." He replied shrugging his shoulders.
Now I can't go back to my room with my plate when he was waiting for me all this while. He asked me about my plans for the weekend. It's weekend already? I blurted out that I'm going to hang out at Reeva and Mandisa's place on Saturday. He reminded me of his friend's proposal on Sunday.
