The boy started to deal the cards to Jotaro and D'Arby.
"I will use one of Polnareff's chips as my opening ante," D'Arby threw the chip. Jotaro placed one chip on the table as well.
"Let us begin!" D'Arby said.
"Now, I shall discard two cards," D'Arby said as he placed one more Polnareff's chip and two cards on the table.
"Jotaro, your soul is represented by a mere six chips. Make sure you consider your moves carefully."
The boy seemed uneasy, Avdol walked next to the boy.
"Boy, you don't need to understand what's going on. Don't worry about a thing. Just shuffle and deal the cards normally," Avdol assured the boy.
"O- okay.."
"I'll take three cards," Jotaro said as he placed a chip and three cards.
"My, my. What a frightening expression. You must have a very good hand. Maybe I should play it safe and bet just one Polnareff," D'Arby said, he was being sarcastic.
"Call," Jotaro placed a chip like D'Arby did.
"All right! It's show time, Jotaro!"
They both placed their cards on the table.
"Two pair, nine over eights," Jotaro said.
"I'm so sorry. Two pair, queen over jacks," D'Arby said.
"That was close. I almost lost. So then.." D'Arby chuckled evilly as he took the chips.
"Next hand. Deal," Jotaro said as he flicked one chip to the table.
"It might not just be the next hand, but your last. I'll draw one card," D'Arby said as he placed one token and a card on the table.
Jotaro didn't even pick up his card. He was just sitting there, he was confident of his behavior right now.
"What's the matter, Jotaro? Hurry and look at your cards, and decide whether you'll bet or fold."
"I'll... keep my cards as they are," Jotaro said with his voice full of confidence.
"Ah, forgive me but... what did you say? Did I hear you wrong? I thought I heard you say that you would keep your cards."
"You heard me right. I'm keeping my cards. I'll play with these five cards."
"I understand that!" D'Arby punched the table.
"I'm asking if you intend to play those cards without looking at them," D'Arby started shouting.
"These cards are fine."
"You can't be serious! Answer me! How can you play cards you haven't even seen?!"
"By the way, Avdol, I have a request," Jotaro looked over at Avdol.
"A request? R- right. Of course, but why aren't you looking at your cards?"
"I told you to answer me, Jotaro!"
"In addition to my last three chips... I'll wager Avdol's soul," Jotaro said as he reached for another stack of chips and placed in total of nine chips on the table.
"Wh- what?!"
"D'Arby, you're a calm man. Every move you make is calculated. You may not be powerful, but you are truly strong. I'm not a man suited to gambling, as I easily become emotional. If I played you, I would most likely lose. But I believe in Jotaro. I'm not sure what his unseen cards mean, but if Jotaro has asked me to wager I shall do so in total faith. Even if that wager is for my soul," Avdol said.
"Well, this is... you've both been overwhelmed by excitement. You aren't thinking straight. Boy! I said I was changing one card. Hurry it up."
"O- okay.." the boy handed D'Arby a card.
"Hmph. Fine. In addition to your three, I'll call with all Polnareff's chips. Hut on top of that... I shall raise you all six of Joestar's chips. That brings to total to fifteen."
"Wh- what?!"
"Why don't you wager (Y/n)'s soul like what you did with Avdol, Jotaro," D'Arby smirked.
"I'm not gonna wager (Y/n)'s soul. Instead I'll wager Kakyoin's soul," Jotaro said as he placed one more stack on the table.
"The fuck Jotaro?! Kakyoin's not even with us!" you shouted.
"What? I'm not letting someone take you away in such a shitty way," Jotaro said calmly.
"Well then.. for proof I'll need you to write this down. Then my Stand will be able to work," D'Arby handed a pen and a paper over to Jotaro. Jotaro wrote on the paper. Jotaro took out a cig. You growled and took it away as he was just about to take it to his mouth.
"Where the hell did you get this?! You'd better explain yourself!" you hissed.
"I got it from Polnareff. He handed me one at the train station."
"Ugh, it was a fool of me to believe that you won't smoke," you growled as you broke the cig into two.
You scowled and threw the cig away. You grumbled about Jotaro being an asshole again.
"(Y/n).."
"What?!"
"Can you get me a drink?... please?"
"Fine. Feel lucky I'm doing it for you. Avdol, keep an eye on him so he doesn't smoke," you growled as you walked over to the counter.
"One drink please."
"Which one?"
You looked over at Jotaro, he was looking at you. You sweat dropped.
"Just.. anything..."
"Okay."
