"Damian!" My head shot up towards the door.
There stood, in all his glory the mighty Flash. He quickly located me and glared. I smirked.
The teacher stood from her desk and walked over to him. He handed her a letter and walked to the back of the classroom, pulling up a chair next to mine.
I realized there were going to be a lot of misplaced students today. Particularly the more grouchy ones that usually sit in the back.
I frowned. This was going to be annoying day.
The rest of the class gradually filed in until, the bell rang, announcing the start of the school day and the teacher, Mrs. Rudra, stood.
"Attention class. Today, as I'm sure you have noticed, Mr. Flash will be attending some classes. He is Mr. Wayne's person security detail and it is advised that you do not interfere with his job. Anyone doing so will be punished." I heard some unhappy sides, mostly feminine.
"Also we have a new student, Ms. Tamal please stand and introduce yourself to the class." The girl, Tamal stood.
"Hello." She said slowly, as if testing out the words. "My name is Carmen. I go to your school now. Have a nice life." She said and plopped back down.
I suppressed a smirk, because of the Mrs. Rudra's expression, but that. Was smooth.
"Uh, well. Thank you Ms. Tamal. Um. Y- you aren't allowed to wear hoods during school hours." Mrs. Rudra said, slowly regaining confidence.
"My most sincere apologies." Carmen said, although it was clearly verbal irony as she was anything but sorry.
She pulled down her hood quickly and revealed her brown eyes and brown hair. A cold scowl resting on her face.
It made me nervous and I tensed. Her eyes flickered to kine and we held eyes contact for a moment. She looked somewhat, familiar... She broke eye contact and looked back at the teacher and I shook the feeling away.
"Um. Open your notebooks and copy down the words on the PowerPoint. When you finish put down your pencils so I know your done."
I wrote my name and began to copy it.
There is a beautiful sea
A calm sky above despite
Dark clouds in every direction
Never more still has the sea stood
Never before in any journey before
Have I seen such peaceful chaos
Dark clouds should be swirling
Rain should be falling
Wind should be beating
Cold air should be biting at me
Yet all I feel is the calm air
Peaceful serenity of the sea
How could it be that
Nothing is what it seems?I roll my eyes as I drop my pencil. I hate poetry. I like books, and writing and philosophy, but poems are not my forte. Obviously I outgrew schooling with my mother in the League, but as Damian Wayne I have to be normal. Tell me life, what kind of person really cares if I'm normal or not?
"Wonderful. Everyone is done. Does anyone know what type of poetry this is?"
Nobody raised their hand.
"Ah, Ms. Tamal. Do you know what type of poetry this is?"
"Yes."
There was a pause. I couldn't help, but smirk this time. Carmen seemed to be driving Mrs. Rudra insane.
"Well... Would you like to share your thoughts with the class?" Mrs. Rudra asked slowly.
