oh, yeah that's embarrassing. i looked over at timothtée as i saw him laughing at me, quickly turning his head when he noticed i had saw him. this caused me to grab my water bottle again, drinking from it to seem distracted.
one of the girls to my left let out a laugh, "did you just wave at harry?" she asked.
i swallowed the water in my mouth before slowly saying "yes.", screwing the cap back on as the second girl giggled.
"yeah we don't do that here." the second girl said. she had long brown hair that messily framed her face. she was taller than me but shorter than the first girl.
"emily, by the way." she said, and i replied with "jenny.""i'm kayla." the first girl said with a small smile, i returned the same smile back at her. her short dirty blonde hair was slicked back into a low bun, her bangs framing her face.
"so waving is a bad thing, got it." i said, trying to break the silence.
"just acting like you know them in general is a bad thing." kayla said, "we've known them for years but couldn't tell you their favorite colors or food." she laughed, causing emily to chime in.
"yeah, they make it known that they don't like lines being crossed—doesn't stop me from liking timothée though." she whispered the last bit.
"you? you like timothée? isn't he rude though." i whispered.
"it's hot." kayla playfully said, answering for emily as she nodded in agreement.
i shook my head in disbelief as they laughed, keeping a small smile on my face as i adjusted my mic stand, glancing over at timothée. he had his shades on, so i could no longer see his eyes anymore. my conversation with girls ended there when the band began to play their opening song, only angel.
you got this, you memorized those lines like crazy, this'll be easy
i reminded myself as i started nodding my head to the music.there were a lot of woo hoo's that we had to sing, and by the time we sang the third one harry turned his head around, a crease forming between his eyebrows as he furrowed them.
"no no, stop stop stop." he said into his microphone as he put his hand up, his voice raspier when more serious.
i looked around, confused as everyone listened to harry. timothée seemed annoyed from the sudden silence.
"who was that?" harry asked, his accent deep as his eyes wandered from emily, kayla, and then to me, where he kept his eyes.
scared of his eye contact i looked around, scared—i didn't mess up, i know i didn't. there was no way i did, so i stood my ground, staring strongly at my mic to avoid his stare.
i heard harry sigh as i saw him leave his spot, approaching us. i froze in my spot as i could no longer avoid his eye contact. he stood in front of me with his hand out. i stared at it before quickly realizing he was asking for my mic. removing it from the stand, i handed it to him without any questions.
he spoke into it, it seemed like he was testing the volume before he nodded.
"her mics too loud." he said into it, looking to the side stage and at the staff. since they were far he raised my mic up as he pointed downwards, and i saw a guy give him a thumbs up before he turned back towards me.
