god, it sounds like i'm being waited at a restaurant.
y/n shook herself free mentally from any smart comments, clutching a file closely to her chest.
"i'm here for an interview, uh-" she looked down, feeling suddenly nervous. "the kings assistant, actually." she quickly said, finishing her sentence. she couldn't help but feel self conscious for what she had said, but what for? who else was she meant to ask?
the henchman nodded his head, and y/n could just barely see his eyes through his helmet darting over towards the king before raising his fingers to his ear.
an almost silent beep was heard, and y/n assumed it was an earpiece. the henchman muttered something about an assistant and an interview, so it was good to hear he was on the right track of what y/n wanted.
once he was done, a much taller henchman appeared from a door to the left of the kings throne. he stood up straight as he addressed the king, bowing before he spoke towards him.
"your majesty," he began, trying to reach the kings attention.
this caused midas's eyes to flicker over from paintings that filled the walls to the henchman, his face was pretty much unreadable as far as emotions went.
the henchman cleared his throat before speaking again.
"the assistant you're interviewing is here. she's..." he paused for a moment, turning towards y/n, then back to the king. "the only one who showed up, your majesty." he nervously said, his hands still clutching an SMG close to his chest.
the king appeared unamused, turning his head up to look at y/n from where she stood with a henchman at the large doors to enter the throne room. there was maybe 45 feet between them.
she wasn't sure if she had imagined it, but y/n could've sworn she saw some kind of glimmer in the king's eye. it was at this point that the woman realized she hadn't heard him speak a single word. until now.
"escort her to my office." he plainly said, standing up from his throne. his voice was somehow soft, yet assertive at the same time. he seemed to have a british accent, however something else was mixed in there she couldn't exactly put her finger on. seemed european of some sort. he stood up straight, his gown waving swiftly behind him, and his height towered over the henchman who
y/n may have once considered very tall a moment ago.he tugged at the neck of his royal gown, almost as if he was ready to take it off. it was white and gold, and there seemed to be a theme here. the common colors followed: black, white, and gold. touches of gray here and there.
from what she could tell, he had a staff as well, a crown similar to his own sat at the top for him to grip, the base white, and the bottom of it gold.
his posture was almost incredibly perfect as he began his walk towards what y/n assumed to be his office. his shoes clicked on the floor along with his staff, and he soon he was out of her sight.
the henchman who stood in front of the throne cleared his throat, shoulders dripping. he almost sounded like he let out a sigh of relief before turning towards the girl. the henchman she previously stood with was gone, and she took this as a notion to make her way slowly towards the taller henchman.
she realized she hadn't introduced herself to anyone formally yet and held out her hand to shake his, smiling warmly.
"y/n y/l/n, it's a pleasure to meet you." she greeted, nodding her head at him.
