"No no, it's fine. Did I fall asleep on the ship?" he asked, his voice thick with sleep still. She nodded.
"Yes I carried you here," she explained. He smiled softly and pressed his lips against hers. He was still cold. He pulled away and got up stiffly, cracking his back once he was on his feet.
"Thank you, Star. I better get changed. Got some work on case reports to get done."
"Can it not wait? I would have liked for you to stay here...with me." Robin stared at her and gulped, eyeing her and then the exit.
"I mean uh sure yeah yes! Only fair I pay you back for uhm me being all uh mushy back there. Probably had to carry me a fair way too," he responded. She grinned at him stumbling over his words, enjoying seeing him so flustered. It was funny how he could speak so eloquently in dangerous situations yet failed to do so when she asked certain things. "So I'm gonna get a shower then come here. If that's okay?"
"More than okay," she assured him. He nodded to himself before leaving the room. Starfire thought about her plan for a moment. It had been so intoxicating to have him so affectionate and she just knew he felt the same way. She was simply giving him a little shove in the right direction by messing with the heating. Besides, everyone else would be alright and Cyborg could fix it back up. It would work out just fine.
Robin woke up with Starfire's arms wrapped around him loosely and Silkie sharing half his pillow though he didn't remember ever offering the spot. He tutted at the animal, petting him a few times before he went to get up. As the sheets slipped off him, he shivered and retreated back beneath the covers. It was freezing! He glanced over at the alarm clock. 8 am? He should've been up at 6 am. He was always up at 6 am. He'd heard that the cold could make you drowsy but oversleeping by two hours? That had to be a new one. He was already behind on his day yet he found himself wanting to get back to cuddling up to his girlfriend. He knew what he needed to get done before midday. Reports, training, planning, reviewing...staying in bed until it didn't feel like the artic. The longer he stayed in bed, the less sleep he'd get tonight. He could deal with an all-nighter but the team were so picky about letting him work that late. Bad for his health or something. So was running around in green tights but their lips were sealed when that was a topic. "Robin?" Starfire mumbled, opening an eye.
"Sorry, did I wake you?" he responded worriedly. She shook her head slowly but looked confused. He could hazard a guess as to why. "Overslept." She hummed and settled back down. "I should probably get out of bed."
"You should stay," she assured him. He bit his lip, thinking about his options before eventually deciding on getting up. He had to. He was a leader of a team, he couldn't spend his days lazying around with his girlfriend even if he wanted to. Robin frowned and pressed a kiss against her cheek before braving the freezing room. Starfire sat up, mirroring his frown.
"Don't be like that Star. I've got to get my work done at some point today," he reminded her as he rubbed his arms in a failed attempt to warm himself up. "If I don't get it done now then I'll have to do it later."
"I know. I could help?" she offered.
"You don't need to. Besides, you'll only be bored." She gave him a determined look, making him smile to himself. He did love her fighting spirit. She was almost as stubborn as him. Almost. "I suppose if you don't mind-"
"Great! I can keep you warm there too," she suggested. He raised an eyebrow at her.
"How'd you know I was cold?" he asked.
"You were rubbing your arms. You do that when you are cold, yes?" she replied after a short pause. He shrugged to himself and nodded.
"Yeah sorry of course," he responded.
