seven // getting used to

Start from the beginning

"I don't want to wait here, who knows how long he's going to take?" Jinyoung added.

"Why don't we just go in?"

Everyone looked at Mark in confusion.

"We can't get through a locked door, Mark," Jackson explained.

"No, I mean, Bambam always keeps an extra key outside. In case..." he almost said in case I need to come in. "In case of emergencies," he improvised.

"Where is it?" Yugyeom asked.

"You... you don't know?"

Colouring slightly, Yugyeom shook his head. "We haven't been together for that long, alright? Please tell us where the keys are,"

Mark nodded, heading towards a small potted plant near the shoe rack in front of Bam's apartment. Pulling out the fake plant, he turned the pot upside down and a pair of keys fell into his palm.

There was silence as he unlocked the door, feeling somewhat nostalgic in doing so. It felt... weird that he and Bambam weren't together anymore. Entering the house so the others could come in, he glanced at his boyfriend. I need to get used to this. Jinyoung.

When he met his eyes, they were unnaturally cold. "Jinyoung...?"

The other boy walked past him as if he didn't hear, joining the others instead and leaving Mark to close the door. Mark bit his lip, wondering what he could have done to offend him.

Joining the others in the living room, he sat next to Jinyoung. "Hey,"

Jinyoung didn't reply, staring at his hands instead of Mark.

"What did I do?"

It took a while for Jinyoung to get the words out. "It's-"

The unlocking of the front door interrupted them, and Bambam walked in, holding a large plastic bag that looked like it held some boxes of pizza, and another one that held drinks. He spoke before anyone else could. "Sorry!! I forgot the drinks and it started raining and there was traffic-"

He was interrupted as some of the others started scolding him, and Mark couldn't find out what was making Jinyoung upset. He sighed.

"Last slice," Bambam said, before reaching towards it. He hesitated though, remembering something. Biting his lip and wondering if he should, he turned to Yugyeom, who was sitting next to him and who Mark was sitting next to.

"Gyeom,"

"Hmm?" his boyfriend asked, eyes leaving the television.

"Can you ask Mark if he wants the last slice of this pizza?". Yugyeom looked slightly confused, and Bambam added: "It's his favourite. I just... wanted to..."

Yugyeom shook his head. "It's alright,". He turned to Mark and Bambam couldn't hear what they were saying.

"He says thanks, but you can have it if you'd like,"

Bam nodded, his eyes meeting Mark's. He smiled, and his ex returned it.

***
Jinyoung had heard Yugyeom's question.

Mark was a little surprised that Bam had remembered, and it made him feel... a way he knew he shouldn't be feeling. Shaking it off, he turned to Jinyoung, who was now pointedly ignoring him.

Bambam asking about the pizza had seemed to make it worse.

And now Mark knew what was going on.

"You're jealous,"

Jinyoung didn't reply, sitting up instead and staring angrily at the television, crossing his arms defiantly.

"Jinyoung. Jinyoung, look at me,"

He didn't, and Mark was getting upset. "What, you're angry because he asked if I wanted pizza? You're jealous because I know where his fucking keys are??"

"So what if I am?" he asked, meeting his boyfriend's gaze.

"It's stupid, Jinyoung!" Mark whispered angrily, not wanting their argument to be overheard by their friends. "I like you, okay? Why can't you-"

"I'm not blind, Mark. I see some things you apparently can't, or are just refusing to,"

"Why are you so afraid I'll leave you?"

Jinyoung broke eye contact.

"Because," Mark muttered. "If you're going to keep acting like this, maybe I will,"

Jinyoung looked back at him, and when Mark saw the hurt tears forming in his eyes he suddenly regretted what he'd just said.

There wasn't any time to repent, though. Jinyoung, looking away and getting up, disappeared down the corridor.

Mark hadn't realised the other members noticed the angry whispers he'd been exchanging with his boyfriend, but when Jinyoung was gone, all eyes fell to him.

He ignored them.

***
The movie had ended. Jackson had gone to find Jinyoung, and Jaebeom was in the kitchen with Youngjae.

Only Mark, Yugyeom and Bambam were on the couch.

"Do you want to stay over tonight?"

Yugyeom smiled in response to his boyfriends question. "And do what?"

There was a smirk on Bambam's face as he replied, "Whatever comes to our minds,"

The younger laughed before meeting his lips momentarily. Bambam, being the horny lil shit he his, pulled Yugyeom towards him before he could pull away, deepening the kiss.

When he finally let go, feeling slightly breathless, he noticed Mark get up from behind Yugyeom and walk away, disappearing down the corridor. He looked upset.

Bambam wondered if Mark was upset because of him and Yugyeom. Then he wondered why he'd get upset over that. With all his wondering, Yugyeom asked if he was okay.

Bam nodded, saying his stomach just hurt a bit and he needed water.

He wasn't lying. His stomach felt like it was doing cartwheels, and he wasn't exactly sure why. He wondered what Jinyoung and Mark's argument was about. He thought back to Mark's upset face, and he didn't like knowing that he couldn't go up to him and ask what was wrong. They weren't dating anymore. That fact just didn't feel right, somehow.

He mentally shook himself.

I'm with Yugyeom and he's with Jinyoung.

We all just have to get used to this.
