It took him a month or two, but he finally decided to discard his CyberLife uniform. Even though his new clothes are similar to his old attire, it's still a nice thought to see him slowly blend into society. You've been wondering how much longer until he removes his LED like Connor.

"Good evening, Nines. What brings you to my humble abode?" you question, giving a slight humorous tone to the last little bit.

His bright blue eyes look down at you, his face remaining that usual stern expression. It always makes it so hard to wonder what's going on in that beautiful brain of his, the only indication is the color of his light.

"I wanted to talk to you," he simply states, head bowing casually.

The sunset is casting the perfect shadows across his form, defining all of his attributes in a dazzling way. You start to take in all of his little details; his small freckles that scatter widely upon his face, his slightly furrowed brow, the way his mouth pouts ever so slightly, that shallow cleft chin, those mesmerizing blue irises, his soft looking hair that's short on the sides and long on top, and that cute little wave of locks that dangle onto the left of his forehead. Although his appearance is near identical to Connor, you always felt like his personality makes his image unique in a different way.

"Officer (l/n)? Are you alright? You seem to be zoning out," Nines questions, leaning forward to look into your (e/c) eyes.

You shake your head briefly, blinking quickly before responding. "Oh - yeah! I'm fine. I'm just a little tired. That's all..."

He stands there, silent and rigid. Icy blue eyes are just staring at you without a single blink. Realization hits that he is waiting to be asked inside.

"Sorry, Nines. Please, come in," you wave.

"Thank you."

You turn around, heading towards the kitchen to grab that drink you want. The sound of the door closing tells you that he's finally come in, but his steps stop abruptly. When you turn around, you see Nines just standing there. That off-white blazer has been gently hung up on a nearby coat hanger, and he's now observing the room. He looks down at his hands, unbuttoning the cuffs of his sleeves and rolling them up to the elbows.

"What is he up to?" you wonder, moving to stand a few feet away. "Hey, I know that you can't drink or anything, but I have some thirium if you want it," you recommend, thumb motioning behind you.

Nines remains silent, never looking at you until he finishes rolling his sleeves. He's taking his time with it, folding them perfectly until they meet the desired spot.

"Um. Nines? You're acting very... weird."

He snaps his head upward, eyes locking with yours. They feel cold, angry, and irritable. "I came here -" he starts slowly, stepping closer to you at the same pace as his words. "- to ask you some questions."

You start to feel slightly uncomfortable, multiple thoughts filling your head. Although you've worked with him on multiple occasions, that doesn't dismiss the possibility that he can be dangerous. Unconscious movements make your feet push you backwards as Nines seems to be leading you in a specific direction.

"What type of questions?" you ask, (e/c) eyes never leaving his form.

He hums then chuckles, swooping a hand through his hair. "What's with you and Connor?" he truthfully asks, a half-hearted smile twitching at his lips.

Eyebrows furrow with confusion, mouth frowning slightly at his words. "Why does he care?" you question internally. "What do you mean?"
