C. 2 Riddle's new Roommate

I glanced up to the boy's face he was looking at me so I reached my hand out of the jacket, gripping the stranger's shirt and said "who- who are you?" sniffling, the boy brushes my tears away, this startled me so I flinched in his touch 'don't hurt me. don't hurt me.' 

He softly whispered "Why are you crying?" his hand still on my face and I stuttered a reply "I- I don't know, just, please don't hurt me." He hugged me closer to his warmth and started to rub my back in a soothing motion "Its okay I'm not going to do anything I promise." 

I just stuck my face near his neck and sniffled a bit, He hummed "what's your name?" right I forgot about that, Luna said "Hadrian Peverell should be a good match since you're ancestor is Ignotus Peverell." thanks a lot Luna I miss you already 

"My name's Hadrian Peverell" I cringed at my cracked voice but the other boy just chuckled "I see, well my name is Tom, Tom riddle" my eyes widened but he couldn't see it 'Oh merlin, this is the future dark lord' my body stiffened and he noticed "Are you hurt somewhere?" I shook my head

I suddenly sneezed 'oh merlin he's going to get mad at me' I gripped his shirt "I'm sorry" I've stained his shirt so much he might hit me, so I prepared for the hit but it never came "Hey its okay Hadrian" I frantically looked up to him and stuttered a response "b-but I ruined your shirt and I-' Tom squished my cheeks "I told you 'its. okay.' It was just an old shirt and I have spares"

I couldn't help but laugh when he squished my cheeks and he also laughed and said "Do you have anywhere to stay at?" I smiled sadly "No, they kicked me out a long time ago." 

I could see the anger in his eyes but was quickly replaced with cheerfulness "Why don't you stay with me in the orphanage? You can stay there and warm up a bit!" 

I nodded my head eagerly and Tom fully smiled "We need to get you warm soon or you'll freeze." I stared at his shining Blue eyes then looked down, muttering "Tom is also cold" 

I tried to give him his jacket back but he nuzzled his face to my bird nest hair and lifted me of the ground in one arm and in the other arm were his and my things 'Oh supplies from Diagon Alley, guess he'll be in first year soon.'

Why is he being so nice to me the dark lord was never like this 'no one was ever kind to me' the situation might turn around and I might get hurt again 'I don't want that to happen, not again' but if we were meant to be enemies then...

 I snuggled to his neck more, I must make the most of it, I'll have all the good memories I need to last me a lifetime 'I'll make sure to cherish this blessing, thank you lady magic' I smiled as we got closer to the orphanage...

----1938, Wool's Orphanage----

Tom's POV

After the our drunk Matron asked Hadrian to answer some questions and fill up some documents, she told me "Go take him around and explain the rules. He'll be rooming with you so don't do anything freaky" and she returned to her dump she called an office 'probably drinking again' I snarled to myself.

Someone tugged my sleeve so I turned around to see Hadrian curiously looking at me "Are you okay Tom?" My face softened at Hadrian's worried expression, Bending down to his height I said "Of course I am. Remember Hadrian never be someone like her, okay?" He grinned mischievously "Don't worry Tom I promise to be better than someone like her"

I matched his grin and ruffled his hair "I see I got a smart one, didn't I?" standing up, I started to show him around the orphanage starting from outside where the shed and garden was located, going to the eating area and kitchen, and lastly to the room we'll both be sharing,
