【?Chapter 43】

Start from the beginning

I looked down at Iggy and Avdol's arm and whispered softly, "Iggy. Avdol. I'm sorry that this had to happen to you. But don't you worry. Scarlet Phantom and I are gonna bring you back. And then... We're all gonna find DIO and make him pay."

"What's going on?" I heard Joseph ask from the other side of the room. Looks like Jotaro and Nori were able to find them easily.

I stood up straight and turned round to face the four men as they entered the room.

As Polnareff entered the room, he froze in the doorway the second he laid eyes on me. "Woah! Look at Y/N! She's got wings!" He exclaimed.

"This is Scarlet Phantom's ultimate form," Nori said as he made his way over to me.

"But I thought Scarlet Phantom refused to go into that form because it could leave Y/N weak?" Joseph titled his head to the side and raised an eyebrow.

"I didn't want it to come to this, but we have no choi-"

"Holy crap! Y/N sounds just like Scarlet Phantom!" The Frenchman interrupted with a cry.

"That's because I AM Scarlet Phantom, you imbecile," the Stand growled and continued where she left off, "Anyway, as I was saying. We are currently down by two Stand users. That in itself is a major blow to our team. Even if Y/N and I are the only ones that are able to defeat DIO, we still need all the support we can get. And it just so happens that I have my own time manipulation ability," she paused as she looked down at Iggy's body and Avdol's arm, "I can reverse death."

"That's impossible! I've never even heard of a Stand that can bring the dead back to life!" Joseph gasped.

Scarlet Phantom looked back up at Joseph. "Correction, I'm not bringing them back to life, I'm actually reversing their lifelines to the moment before they die, making their deaths seem like a dream. Technically speaking, I'm giving them a second chance at life."

"Will that affect us in any way? Will I have to fight Vanilla Ice again?" Polnareff asked.

"Only if I reverse his death. Because I'm only reversing Avdol's and Iggy's deaths, they will believe that they dreamt about being killed by Vanilla Ice. This ability has no effect on any living person or the current timeline."

Scarlet Phantom took full control of my body and raised my hand above Iggy's body and closed my eyes.

Visions of the events leading up to Iggy's death flashed through my mind, but the visions didn't stop there. They continued up to the point before Iggy was running away from the falcon outside the mansion. That's when I realized that Scarlet Phantom was doing more than reversing Iggy's death. She was also reversing his injuries.

Scarlet Phantom muttered something in the same language that she used before she changed into her ultimate form. She stopped muttering and I slowly opened my eyes. I looked down at Iggy and watched as his wounds closed up. The bandage wrapped around his shortened leg started to unravel itself as his leg started to grow back to its usual state, like a starfish regenerating its limb.

Soon, Iggy was back to normal, and Nori got down on his knees beside Iggy. He leaned down and pressed an ear to the Boston Terrier's chest. After a few silent moments he looked up at us and announced, "He has a heartbeat!"

I looked over at Jotaro, Joseph and Polnareff who all wore a look of amazement.

"He'll wake up soon but be careful with him. Because his death will be like a dream to him, there's a chance he'll wake up and be on guard for any attacks. The same will go for Avdol once I've reversed his death. We'll need to explain to them what's happened and reassure them that they're no longer in that scenario," Scarlet Phantom explained as she turned me to Avdol's arm whilst Nori watched over Iggy for any signs of him waking up.

Scarlet Phantom raised my hand over Avdol's arm and closed my eyes as she repeated the same words she muttered with Iggy.

Same as before, the events leading up to Avdol's death flashed in my mind and came to a halt when the fortune-teller discovered the sign that Vanilla Ice left on a pillar saying, 'those who look behind them will perish.'

I opened my eyes and watched as Avdol's arm started to glow and his body slowly grew back. The process took slightly longer since all that was left of Avdol was his arm.

Eventually, Avdol's body was restored, and I dropped to my knees. I placed two fingers onto the side of his neck to feel for a pulse. It took some time, but I was finally able to feel the faint pump of his pulse beneath my fingertips. I let out a sigh of relief and stood back up.

"How's Iggy doing, Nori?" I asked him as I turned back to face him.

"I think he's starting to come round," he responded without taking his eyes off the little black and white dog.

I glanced down at Iggy and saw his front paw twitch slightly and I couldn't help but smile. We did it. Scarlet Phantom and I did it.

Iggy's eyes suddenly flew open, and he jumped to his feet. He looked at Nori and growled at the redhead.

"Iggy, it's okay! It's over. You're not in danger anymore," I reassured him and held a hand out to the Boston Terrier as I kneeled down.

"Y/N? Is that you?" Iggy asked and he immediately calmed down as soon as he saw me.

I nodded with a smile. "It's me."

"I had such a horrible dream. I dreamt about being killed by that Vanilla Ice guy whilst trying to rescue you," he said. Iggy's ears bent back as he recalled the events leading up to his death.

"That wasn't a dream, Iggy. That actually happened. Scarlet Phantom and I reversed your death which is why I look like this," I explained and gestured to my large black wings. "This is Scarlet Phantom's ultimate form."

"I... Died?" Iggy looked down at his paws and back up at me. "And you brought me back?"

I nodded again. "And Avdol too," I said and shifted to the side for Iggy to see Avdol lying behind me. His eyes widened and he ran over to Avdol.

"Be careful, Iggy. Avdol still hasn't come round yet. We don't know what he'll be like when he wakes up," Polnareff warned the Boston Terrier.

Avdol's eyes flew open, and he quickly sat up. He looked around the room until his eyes landed on me. "Y/N?" He asked with an arched brow.

"Here we go again..." Scarlet Phantom muttered.

The fortune-teller's eyes widened as soon as he heard Scarlet Phantom's voice come from me. "What the?!" He stammered.

"It's okay, Avdol. We'll explain everything to you," Joseph said reassuringly as he walked over to his friend and helped him to his feet.

Whilst Joseph and Polnareff filled Avdol in, Jotaro came over to stand next to me and Nori.

"So, now the whole gang's back together, what's the plan?" The redhead asked.

I looked between the two teens and smirked. "It's time to kick DIO's ass."
