Port of Oakland
The Port of Oakland was established in 1927, and is a world-class international cargo transportation and distribution hub.
Located on the mainland shore of San Francisco Bay, one of the great natural harbors of the world, Oakland was among the first ports
globally to specialize in the intermodal container operations which have revolutionized international trade and created the global economy.
Oakland's 20 deepwater berths and 35 container cranes, 29 of which are Post-Panamax size, are backed by a network of local roads
and interstate freeways, warehouses and intermodal railyards.
California Trucking Association
The California Trucking Association (CTA) represents trucking companies servicing Northern and Southern California.
The CTA offers it's members many services including a monthly newsletter including eitorials by and about association
leaders and technical experts, state and national news including regulatory changes, legislation, safety insurance,
economic development and other information vital to executive and management personnel in the trucking industry.
Association of Bi-State Motor Carriers
The original core group of the Bi-State Harbor Carriers consisted of representatives of the Port Authority of NY-NJ and trucking companies
that serviced the port of New York-New Jersey. It was formed in 1977 to discuss and respond to port related issues that affected
the trucking community. In 1983, as the scope of the discussions enlarged, the group was expanded and encouraged to become
affiliated with the New Jersey Motor Truck Association (NJMTA). This gave them the support of that statewide trucking group,
since many of the issues involved the state, and the NJMTA had the power to negotiate and lobby for legislative relief.
New Jersey Motor Truck Association
Founded in 1914, the NJMTA is a non-profit trade association that has more than 1000 members. The NJMTA represents the trucking
community serving the state of New Jersey. NJMTA is the voice of New Jersey’s trucking industry before state and federal legislatures,
government and regulatory agencies, the public and the media.
