It has been three weeks since the Yule Ball and you and Fred have been more affectionate than ever. He would find any excuse to cuddle you and to have you close, even send some dirty looks to others who were checking you out. You two didn't even talk about the kiss you shared at the Yule Ball and even if you tried to talk to him about it, either George or Lee were taking him away from you to plan their next prank. It was frustrating but eventually you gave up on it for the meantime and decided to hang with Astrid and Hermione in the library, whilst all your guy friends were busy; Harry and Ron being their usual selves and the twins and Lee working on their pranks.
"So, Hermione... How is Krum?" Astrid asked, nudging Hermione's shoulder.
"Uhm—he is alright." She blushed "He isn't the kind to hold on to a conversation." You and Astrid giggled, making Hermione more and more flustered.
"That's not what I mean!" She whacked you both with her book "He mostly watches me study. It's kind of annoying actually."
"Well, at least he lets you study. Imagine having the twins and Lee whilst studying. Can never get anything done." You chuckled, remembering that time back in 4th year you four were kicked out of the library for "accidentally" letting go of a firework. It was definitely the twins' fault for sure but of course, you all had to pay with a one-week detention with Snape.
"And that's why I like being a loner." Astrid place her hands behind her neck and smirked.
"What am I? An acquaintance?" You smacked her hand lightly, kind of offended.
"Duh! Wasn't it obvious?" She smiled, her sarcasm always made you smile a little and shook your head at her.
"So how's dating the twins?" Hermione wiggled her eyebrows throwing you both a look.
"We're not dating the twins!" You both said in unison, glancing at each other and laughing slightly.
"Oh no, you've spent so much time with them you're practically like them!" Hermione said wide-eyed.
"But seriously, we are not dating them. I don't know what Astrid is doing with George behind closed doors but Fred and I are not dating!!" That earned you a smack on the head from Astrid.
"What I am doing with George is none of your concern." She glared at you both. "And for your knowledge, he has asked me on a date, which of course I said yes to. He's going to take me to the Black Lake instead of Hogsmead because he said he has a surprise for me there." She smiled at the thought.
"Bet that's where he'll ask you to be his girlfriend." You smiled softly at her. She seemed so happy and you were so happy for her. "You and George were made for each other. And before you say anything," she opened her mouth to say something but you stopped her "I've seen the way you look at each other. You look at each other as if one of you will disappear." Hermione awed before looking at her watch, gasping.
"Well, I will leave you too alone because I have a Transfiguration class to attend to. Talk to you later?" You nodded and Hermione left.
"When do you think Fred's going to ask you?" She placed her hand on top of yours.
"I don't know honestly. I feel like I made him feel weird when I kissed him at the Yule Ball. We haven't talked to each other about it for weeks!" You sighed sadly.
"Well, if you want to know, when you left to comfort Hermione, he came to us immediately and told us how completely in love he is with you." You smiled at each other. "Just give him some time." You nodded and hugged her.
"What would I be without you, Astrid?"
"A goner, that's for sure." You both laughed but were quickly silenced by the librarian.

Every day at breakfast at Hogwarts, you would sit beside Fred, George and Lee. Yet today, it was only you and Fred lost in conversation and laughter. George apparently was way too nervous to ask Astrid to be his girlfriend and Lee offered to took care of him whilst Fred could spend the day with you. That was what you always wanted of course. You love Lee and George but spending some one-on-one time with your favourite twin was making you really giddy and excited. You took a sip from your pumpkin juice and looked at Fred.
"So, Freddie..." Fred's head shot up and looked from his breakfast to you "George and Astrid are going on a date to the Black Lake this evening."
"Yes, I know and?" Fred looked at you confused, before he realised what you really meant.
"Well, how about we spy on them?" You turned to face him completely
"(Y/n), I was thinking exactly the same thing." You high fived each other "And how about, before that, we go on a little walk through Hogsmead?"
"Are you asking me out on a date, Fred Weasley?" You snickered
"You said it." He winked at you "So it's a date?"
"It's a date!" You kissed Fred's cheek and made your way to your dorm to get ready.

"In how long do you think they'll be here?" You asked Fred, both of you hiding behind a very large tree. The cold winter air hit you in the face, sending a chill through your whole body. You started shivering, the clothes you picked definitely weren't made for this kind of weather. You rubbed the palms of your hands trying to get slightly warmer.
"I don't know, it depends how long they'll spend snogging each other's faces." He looked from the path leading to Hogwarts to you, noticing your cold state. Without a second thought, he took your hands in his and brought them up closely to his face, near his mouth, maintaining eye contact. He started huffing, his warm breath hitting your skin, sending shivers through your entire body. You suddenly felt your cheeks get warmer; oh now you were definitely warming up all thanks to Fred.
He stopped and looked at your eyes, still holding your hands. He came closer and closer to you. Your heart started beating faster, your eyes drifting from his eyes to his lips, wanting to feel his soft lips against yours again like they did in the night of the Yule Ball. His right hand was now on your waist, closing the distance between your bodies whilst his other one cupped your face. Your hands were now on top of his chest, you could feel his fast heart beat from the outside of his coat.
"Can I, kiss you?" He asked nervously. Why was he nervous? You've kissed each other before and your feelings for each other were crystal clear. Why was it so hard to do so? To even admit your own feelings about him.
You nodded, slowly but surely closing the distance between you two and finally locking your lips with his. Those slow and loving kisses quickly turned into a passionate and hungry snogging session. His soft and cheap cologne mixed with cinnamon and gunpowder filled your nostrils every time you took a breath from kissing him. He opened your coat and started feeling the inside of your shirt, his cold yet somehow warm fingers touching your skin making you want him more and more. Your hands traveled from his chest to his face and to the back of his head, feeling his soft ginger hair.
He now had moved from your lips to his neck, nibbling on the skin and leaving hickeys everywhere he could. Your small moans made him more confident than ever, especially now that he knew it was him who made you feel like that and not some other guy. He lifted you up by your thighs and you wrapped your legs around his torso, your back against the tree for extra support.
Unfortunately for you two, as much as you both were enjoying it and wanted to take it further, you heard footsteps and small laughter coming from the path. It was George and Astrid. You both stopped, looked at each other for a brief moment and hid behind the tree so you could be completely out of view. You could hear Fred, cursing under his breath. Oh, he was definitely going to confront George about ruining his moment with you someday.
With all those thoughts running through your head, you didn't hear anything from George's and Astrid's conversation. Only when Astrid jumped into his arms, him spinning her around, both laughing and being a happy couple. He had asked her to become his girlfriend and she took only 0.2 seconds to answer.
You were so happy for your friend, even if she had ruined your moment. But nevertheless, you knew now that sooner or later, Fred would ask you as well. You were madly in love with him and couldn't wait to spend more time with him.
