Techno's house was massive. It was built on tree branches and divided. Once you climb up the tree, you will meet an ocelot sitting outside and once you open the door, it is already the living room. It has a huge space where there are four couches in the middle forming a box and beneath it was a white rug. There were empty bookshelves on the middle wall, and between it was a gate.
And three gates lead you to different areas that you can access after walking on the shaky bridge that connected them all. The right door will bring you to the villager trading hall, the armoury built above it and chest area beneath, both are accessible through stairs. The left gate will bring you to the kitchen and the bathroom. Lastly, the door in the middle is the way for the living quarters. And there are three rooms available according to the man. Well, now two cause you will be occupying one.
The rules were easy to follow. No hugs, no jump scares, don't leave without telling the other where you're heading, and a recent one, you shall do the cooking. Something you decided because the man could only make ordinary bread, mushroom stew and cooked meat. And the repeating dishes were getting boring so you declared to be the house cook. He wasn't happy you insulted his cooking abilities but he agreed with you after tasting cookies, he was glad he finally ate something different.
"You lived in a jungle where cocoa just grows on trees. Why didn't you try making one?" You asked him that day. And for a long time, it was just dead silence that made you grin as the man seemed to be frozen in his seat with a cookie in hand.
"Rule five, don't ask me ridiculous things" He jokingly said as he takes a bite from the cookie, you just let out a laugh before walking away and to the trading hall to talk to the villagers.
It was fun to talk to them, they would tell you about how Techno treats them and how they rather have you around because at least you interacted with them, they still had the same design from the real minecraft, nothing was modified. They were interesting, to say the least. They kept you entertained while Techno's out either training, hunting or mining.
"Oh don't trust that man, he said he's going to give me a block of emeralds if I followed him, now what happened?! I'm stuck here and emerald-less!"
Their stories never bore you since you get to know the male more, and said person would sometimes overhear your conversations and debate with the elder. It was one of the best moments you've had. But despite what many thought of him, Techno is kind and caring in his own ways.
One time you fell asleep playing with a baby villager and you woke up the next day with a red cape covering you and the child resting on your stomach. You thought it was nice of the male to give you his cape as a blanket.
"Pshh, it would've been nicer if he took you to your room!" The elder exclaimed, always finding a way to bash the male.
Speaking of which, after giving him diamonds, he immediately crafted a diamond rapier. You heard him humming while creating it from below the trading hall. You once entered the armoury and noticed everything was made in iron, you asked him about it, and he went on a rant about how scary the caves are because you're basically playing in hardcore but if you die, it's literally the end of the line for you in both worlds.
"Good thing I'm here then?" You teased, holding the boots he just enchanted and handed to you. He then looked at you with an unreadable expression before saying:
"Alright you don't deserve them, give them back"
He didn't but he continued making you an iron sword and diamond daggers-- diamonds from your own stash, both enchanted with mending, unbreaking III, looting II and sharpness IV.
During your stay with Techno, you have taught him how to read enchantment table and both of you bond together by decoding the rest of the scrolls from your bag. So far, you guys found out about the prophecy of a prince that will free those who were trapped in the a dimension where there was no day, only eternal night by the powerful 'white-eyed-demon'. Making both of you theorize who this prince was.
"Imagine if it was Ranboo, and he rode a dragon to meet us in a final battle or something" He jokingly states.
You could remember the weird ticks Techno has during your stay with him, he sleeps with a dagger underneath his pillow–you found out after trying to wake him then he pulled it out– has every inch of his house covered in light at any point of the day, and not to mention the nightmares he would get that would make you wake him up.
And after that, he'd stay up until the morning at his watchtower above the main room or the living room, just chilling with a book in hand, a pair of glasses in place of the skull he usually wears.
You had an idea of what's the subject of his nightmares are, and it includes reapers spawning randomly when sleeping and a dragon flying by based on his mumblings when he fell asleep on one of the couches and you just happen to arrive at the right time to get water from the kitchen. The man immediately sat up, alerted by the squeaking wooden floor you stepped on. And when you came back to the living room, he had already left to sleep in his room instead.
You decided to sneak on the scroll he was trying to decode since she was wide awake, she decided to finish it. And by dawn, you worked out that the scroll gave you directions where an ancient place is at. You assumed that it was a monument and told Techno as soon as he walked in not too long later. With that, starts an adventure and a mission to visit the area no matter the cost.
You guys decided to leave the next day. You bid the villagers goodbye and packed food that can last you both for three days, you told Techno to also bid the villagers his farewells and once he did, the elder replied with:
"I hope to see you never bitch"
This almost launched Techno into another huge argument with the elder but you pushed him out before he could even start. Fully equipped and ready for adventure, you guys left the treehouse on foot. Because Techno's horse died not too long ago after pterodactyls attacked it while he was on a hunt, leading him to walk back home.
Fast forward after the third day of stabbing monsters and getting jumpscares from random entities hidden in the ponds and lava pools, the two of them started hunting for food after running out of stock before sundown as their food stocks have been emptied. It was a group decision to never settle for tents but instead dug holes in hills with the reason of being more safe hidden within nature.
On the fifth day of adventure after raiding a temple in the spruce forest, something that drained you both to death, so after looting the area, both of you wanted to rest immediately, already creating a hole to sleep in until remembering the concept of hunger after he heard your stomach rumble. So after a long period of making excuses to not leave the safety of the hole, the both of you finally head out to find anything that can fill up your hunger bar so you both can heal.
After a long while of you peacefully picking some berries from the bushes not too far from the hill, you heard shrill screams from afar that echoed in the forest which made you jump, making some of the berries fall from your hand and waking the lone sheep Techno was about to attack, he grumbled beneath his breath as he stood up from his hiding spot behind the thick bushes and made his way towards you.
"Why the long face?" You asked the male in front of you as soon as he arrived.
"The screams scared the sheep away" He answered as he picked a berry and ate it.
"NPC's don't scream like that right?" He nodded at that as you moved to another bush, leaving a few that he can just pick but he kept staring at the direction he thought the sound came from which is just in front of him, he has a more enhanced hearing after all.
Another scream echoed in the forest but this time, it seems to come from the right, and Techno turned towards it. They sounded familiar to him, it was odd but it felt like he's heard of those shrill girly screams from somewhere. But he waved the suspicion of who, thinking that those people are smart enough to plug out their computer if the stream did appear on their screens.
"They're running" Techno casually said as he brought his attention to the few berries you left on the bush, picking them out.
"Should we go save them?" You asked, looking up at him as you pause.
"And carry more responsibilities? Ha! no" The man continued your task of picking the berries, making you shrug and resume your task of harvesting the berries from the bush. Ignoring the screams in the background.
"Besides, they're probably one of those thugs." And you agree with that, although those girlish screams made you think otherwise.
Techno then detected the screams getting nearer, with two other more voices mixing with it. You were somehow familiar, yet you could not put a finger on who was the owner of the voices. But when you turned to the male who's eyes were distant, it seemed like he already had an idea of who the people were running around and screaming as if there's no tomorrow, attracting different kinds of entities.
"HELP! ANYONE!"
"FASTER!"
"BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP AND KEEP RUNNING!"
"Are those...?" You trail off pausing, finally having a slight idea of who the owners of the three voices are in the background.
"KARL HURRY UP!"
"MY HUNGER IS GETTING LOW!"
Techno let out a sigh as his head fell to touch his chest before taking out his torch which he lit up, turning his back at you since he could hear the three people from the direction he's now facing and peaked at you over his shoulder.
"Maybe three idiots can join"
After pulling out both of your weapons, You both ran towards the echoing screams with Techno's torch lighting up the way and slicing through the overgrown vines and jumping over fallen trunks, there were minor mobs in the way but Techno has already sliced them up before you could. You were just there to collect the important drops.
And with every step the voices got louder and clearer, it was obvious the trio were getting chased by something but both of you were still uncertain of what it was until Techno's enhanced senses kicked in, and just by smelling musk and wet fur, he then knew they were being hunted by a pack of wolves. And he told you about it.
"Wolves? Why would they anger them?"
"That's what I'm trying to figure out" He responded before you guys arrived at a small clearing with a shortfall by the end of it. Both of you slowed down into a jog as you approached the fall and looked down at the three shadows backed into the wall of the cliff. You waited and listened to their bickering as Techno looked around for something he can use to get down easily.
"Oh my god are we gonna die?"
"We wouldn't be here if you just ignored them in the first place!"
"Wait guys, I see a light"
"Alex it's not the right time--"
"No seriously, look up"
With that, Techno sheaths his sword before grabbing a vine and jumping down the cliff with you following a second later and landing behind him, your sword out ready to take down some wolves if they ever attempt to ignore Techno and launch itself to the scared men behind you.
But it was unlikely to happen because, at the sight of Techno alone, the wolves seemed to hesitate whether they should attack yet growling from their position. They recognize the superior one in the vicinity and they refuse to cross the alpha even when their real one told them to.
"Are you guys ok?" Asked Techno while keeping his eyes on the wolves
"Techno???" One of them called out, in relief and surprise.
"Get them far away" He orders you and immediately you went to escort the three men from the field, leaving the pink-haired male alone with the growling, hungry mutts.
He took a step back and waved his torch at the pack of growling beasts that immediately stepped back before the fire hit them. Slowly, he started backing up with the fire and they would simply take a step forward. He swore underneath his breath as he kept an eye close to how they were reacting, hoping that you'd come back earlier for reinforcement just in case it goes south really fast and the monsters the trio has attracted before finds him.
From afar, You rushed the three to the temporary base in a hill with you trailing from behind in case some werewolves crossed the pink-haired male. But due to the fright, one of them would trip over a log and you'd always helped him back up.
"Why are we even following you? You look like one of them!" Exclaimed the suited fella on the front.
"I can assure you I'm not but if you insist!" You spat back.
Then from the dark, stepped out a dark hooded figure that made the trio stop. You pulled out your bow and fired an arrow at it before running up to slice it with your sword. After the mob disintegrated to dust, you ushered the three to run once more, wanting to get back to Techno as soon as possible. You lead them towards the hill with no more mobs standing in your way.
"Why did we stop here?"
One asks, Quackity, after you lead them to a hill, stopping in front of a dirt wall. You removed two blocks vertically before ushering them inside, tossing them the pouch of berries and an axe.
You even made sure you burned some wood on the dug hole where you guys were supposed to burn them without endangering some wooden stuff around you.
"Stay here" You briefly said before you're already stepping back out.
"HEY WAIT!"
Their voices were immediately muffled as you placed down the dirt blocks before you sprinted into the forest, silently wishing that nothing had happened to the other male you left at a dead end. Although you doubt he's gonna get a small scratch, anything could happen, the impossible can be possible. There were no mobs around you and you could almost cry out of happiness cause you don't need to remove them while rushing back.
But it seems like you were panicking for nothing when you arrived to see Techno standing tall in the middle of six bloodied bodies of wolves, untouched. They were still twitching, a telltale sign that they were still alive and breathing. Techno's chest was heaving as he caught his breath before pulling his sword out of his newest victim.
He straightened his back and let his head fall back, mouth parted open to breathe properly. The light on your torch illuminated the sweat that trailed down his face from his forehead. His head then dropped down to stare at his blade decorated with the crimson liquid.
"Why did I even run back here?" You light-heartedly said, catching his attention.
"'Cause, you'll be homeless if I die" He answered as he shakes the blood out on his blade.
"I guess our food problem is solved" You said, referring to the wolves.
"Yeah, for about... three or four days, maybe less." He got down to his knees, to start killing and looting. And you did so as well. But as soon as your victim pulverized, you saw a peculiar drop from the body. You picked it up and showed it to the male.
"I got a tooth," You said and he reached for it, which you gave out as he inspected it.
"Yeah, says it can be used to craft a knife and a potion," He says as he stared at the new item's information screen.
You waited there carrying a torch while looting with the other, even discussing plans with what you're gonna do now that three other people are joining the group. It was obvious what they should do and they both knew it was best to go home than resuming the adventure.
After a long while of looting the bodies, it was time to finally head home and rest.
The silence on the way back was comfortable and it didn't mind you one bit. The sound of leaves being stepped on and the gentle splashes the near river was making made it peaceful, almost therapeutic.
It was one of the favourite things in this damned world, it maybe filled with mobs wanting to eat your insides but the pure silence, beautiful landscapes and the glimmering stars made it worth it. For a while, no one talked, just the sound of their footsteps and the creaking of a praying mantis. It continued to be like that until Techno decided to break the silence.
"Do you know that when you throw an apple at a person, you're actually asking them for marriage?"
"What? Really?" You asked him because you cannot recall anything about such a way of showing their love.
"Yeah, it's ancient greek" He added.
And with that, silence once again fell upon you both as the image of the hill increased in size as you both got nearer. When you guys stopped in front of the dirt blocks, Techno was the one who took mined it out and was welcomed with a rock thrown at him, fortunately hitting his mask.
"Is this how you treat the man who saved you?!" He shouts as he stared at the suited male who was responsible for the pebble.
"You're wearing a scary mask and we're scared for life, what do you think we're gonna do?! Sacrifice Karl?!?" The suited male responds with the same tone the pink-haired male held, you didn't spare them any attention as you walked in and blocked the entrance.
You walked towards the lit fire and placed the barbeque grills on top of the flame. You pulled the wolf meat from your inventory and laid three down on the metal bars when you see someone move next to you from the edge of your eyes.
It was Karl, he wore a colourful hoodie with a green spiral in the middle. His brown hair was haggard and knotted. His hands were slotted inside the pockets as he stared at the meat you were grilling.
"Must be scary being placed in a dangerous world so suddenly." You start and the male hummed as an affirmative.
“Yeah, we almost died on the first day because of zombies” He nonchalantly revealed as he pursed his lips, obviously waiting for the food to get cooked. "We were trying to mine but there was a spawner just by the entrance." He explained further.
Then, the blue Adidas wearing male walked towards the both of you before settling on the space beside Karl. You didn’t need to look at him to notice that his beanie was missing from his head as you flipped the meat over.
“They’re so loud” The newcomer complains in a hushed voice yet loud enough for Karl to hear, who nodded at that.
It wasn’t long before the food was ready, ‘Cooked Wolf Meat’ popping out of the grill and the duo was quick to take and devour it as you took one to eat as well before putting two more to cook for the still bickering men behind the three of you.
“It’s weird not feeling the burn after eating a newly cooked meal” Karl spoke after eating and now was looking at the hologram screen to watch his health bar recover.
“Yeah, we have to get used to it I guess,” Quackity said, making the other nod.
Finally, they hear the argument cease as two men found the three of you already eating without them. So they made their way into the group with Techno sitting beside you and the suited fella settling next to Quackity as they took the newly cooked meat from the grill.
"Hey, I'm sorry for what I said back there" Schlatt apologises as soon as he sits, making Techno raise an eyebrow.
"What did he say?" He asked as he turned to you. You spotted Karl's questioning gaze from the edge of your eye at that.
"Nothing bad. it's ok, big guy" You said, but Techno kept his eyes on you for a moment longer before focusing on the fire in the middle.
"Hey, can you remove your mask? It's scary" Schlatt asked, making the others turn to the masked man.
"Technoblade face reveal?" Quackity clapped his hands, a smile plastered on his lips as the man removed his mask to pull out rectangular glasses to put on. The silence that followed made Techno's heart race, he could feel sweat forming in his palms as he tried to focus on the fire, he felt so vulnerable to the stares everyone was sending his way.
"You look great dude" Karl complimented after he swallowed his food back. Quackity and Schlatt followed with more compliments. You grinned before joining in.
"You guys better stop before I kick you out of this hole" He warns them, voice monotone but it has a hint of shyness in them. You grinned at that, spotting his reddened ears and the faint blush on his cheeks.
“So… what’s the plan?” Asks Karl, changing the subject.
All of them stared at Techno and You, waiting for a response. They didn’t need to wait for too long when the pink-haired male answered:
"We're coming back home tomorrow at sunrise, everyone gets some sleep"
