Once again, the same dreadful noise pierced my ears telling me it was the next day, i groaned and slapped my bedside table, i attempted to hit the alarm clock but failed miserably, instead knocking it over and making contact to the floor. It smashed to pieces and i rolled my eyes but made my way out of bed. A cold spread over my body instantly, the loss of contact with my warm blanket was one of the worst things about waking up.
I walked into the bathroom and looked at my self in the mirror, something looked different about me this morning, my skin was glowing, i wondered why because i was used to seeing the spots gradually forming but instead i was greeted with a fresh face. If this was because of my powers I wasn't complaining at all. I brushed my teeth and washed my face with warm water, however this time as the water hit i wasn't welcomed the stinging burn, i flipped my hand over to see that the cuts on my hands were completely healed. I flipped them over back and forth too see if what i was seeing was real and sure enough it was.
Changing out of my pyjamas was too much effort and i didn't want to face the cold that would follow, even though they were shorts, they were surprisingly warm. I decided on a high waisted jeans and a black tank top, i grabbed my trainers in one hand and swung my bag over my shoulder.
Everyone was at their usual seats in the kitchen, they all seemed to be involved in conversation so i didn't bother them but instead walked in and grabbed some breakfast to go. The texts from last night began to come into mind when i remembered i had to ask my dad about the trip.
¨Morning dad, theirs a school trip coming up, can i go?¨ i was expecting him to say no and i would have to beg him but instead he nodded and smiled at me, he handed me a permission slip and i grabbed it off him. I read the letter over and over to be sure what i was reading was real, it was an overnight trip, 5 days.
¨Thankss!!¨I wrapped my arms around his waist and he kissed me on the forehead and chuckled, i placed the slip into my bag and headed out the door shouting bye across the living space, they all waved goodbye and i slipped out the door.
I walked out to see Happy involved in conversation with someone i didn't recognise, a woman, a beautiful one at that, Happy seemed taken with her and i grinned, he looked over at me and his expression changed immediately, he tilted his head sideways and stared at me. The woman hadn't seen me so i decided to leave them alone, i gave Happy a thumbs up and he smiled at me and i walked back into the house. I was early anyways, it was only 7:58, i didn't have to be at school for another 45 minutes.
My dad looked at me confused and i walked over to them
¨Happy is outside talking to a lady and she seems taken with him so i decided to let him do what he was doing and not disturb them, plus im really early anyways so i was hoping that maybe i could take your car to school today??¨
¨Absolutely not¨ my dad didn't even give thought to my question but declined me straight away , he walked past me with his coffee in hand, he took a large sip and sat at one of the kitchen island stools.
¨Dad you have like 100 different cars, please¨ i gave him my best puppy dog eyes and he looked like he would say no again but this was one of his weaknesses, he sighed but nodded. I gave him a kiss on the cheek and ran out of the house and straight to the garage, i decided on the range rover, it had a matte black wrapping and was a good option. After all i didn't want to choose a red super car, that would draw too much attention to me and i didn't need that after what happened yesterday.
I still had lots of time left to so i phoned MJ
¨Hey loser, my dad let me drive to school today by myself, want a lift¨ MJ answered on the 3rd ring and said yes straight away, she text me her address and i arrived at her front door in less that 15 minutes. When i pulled up she was waiting reading a book, of course she was, i laughed to my self and rolled the window down.
¨Hey get in loser¨ She looked up at me and smiled, i could tell she liked me for me, i didn't think she had any friends before me, but i didn't either, she was herself around me and it felt like we had been friends for a lot longer than 2 days.
¨Nice wheels¨ i thanked her and we began driving along the busy streets of New York, MJ and me had similar music taste, either really depressing so we could be in our feels or really upbeat so we could vibe along. We picked a playlist off of spottily and played it very loud, we had the windows down and were singing along, we ignored the strange looks from people on either side of us and continued driving.
We pulled up outside of school and i found a parking spot and git out, we got there at 8:28, we walked in and i headed to my locker, conveniently it was placed opposite MJs so we parted our way for a few moments. I unzipped my bag and began to place my books inside when a person crept up behind me, i turned around as quick as i could, i was about to throw a punch but was stopped as someone grabbed my fist.
¨Whoa Whoa Whoa its only me¨ i relaxed immediately when i saw Peter there smiling at me, he still had my fist in his hand, i shifted slightly and his eyes widened and he let go, it was little awkward so i was thankful when Ned and MJ appeared by our sides.
¨Hey Ned whats up¨ i turnt to face him
¨Nothing much, just that i finished my Lego death star!¨ he was smiling widely, teeth and all, i laughed at him and Peter joined me, we made our way to class and when i walked past Flash he backed away making me laugh. The same seat from yesterday was open so i sat in it with Peter beside me.
¨So how was your walk yesterday then??¨ i placed both my hands under my face and turned to face Peter who looked at me with curious eyes.
¨It was good, how was your day?¨ i sighed and began to tell him the events of yesterday, although i left out last night, that was for another time.
¨So me and some of the other Avengers caught Steve and Nat doing it, then later on we saw them come downstairs with wet hair meaning they..... and that was the most interesting part of my day.¨ Peter opened his mouth and closed it throughout my entire explanation
¨Wait so like Cap and Nat, i would've never thought they would be a thing¨ peter was surprised
¨Honestly same, i thought Nat would get with Banner because they had something going on but i guess not, i dont think it would have worked anyways to be honest, hes too awkward.¨ He laughed at me and i joined in, before we knew it registration was over, i said my byes to Peter and said i would meet him for lunch.
Finally fourth period was over and it was time for lunch, i didn't have a big enough breakfast and i was starving, I saw MJ and Ned on the table, they looked so awkward together so i made my way over and they both looked relieved as i sat down. It took Peter 5 minutes before he finally joined us, he put his hands on my shoulders as he squeezed past the tight space, the loss of contact made me feel cold and lonely but he sat down next to me an smiled.
¨What took you so long?¨ i asked him curiously
¨Oh just got caught up with the teacher after class.¨ something about his tone told me otherwise but i didn't want to push it, we all enjoyed the lunch, we talked the entire time laughing and eating.
¨Also guess what, my dad signed the slip¨ I took the piece of paper out of my bag and placed it onto the table and everyone looked at it, they were all just as excited as i was.
¨Yes im glad just make sure you go give that to the office lady by the end of today because today is the deadline.¨ Peter told me
¨Yeah ill do it after gym class¨
After lunch we all made our way to the gym, me and MJ parted with the boys and walked into the girls locker room. I put on my Nike pro shorts and put on a black sports top, Mj wore the same as me except her top was grey. We walked out and on the way i stopped at the fountain and filled my bottle up before joining the rest of the class. The coach told us to partner up so we would be doing fitness, I heard MJ groan but i didn't mind, i loved training with the Avengers it was always good fun kicking Clint's ass.
I dragged out a blue mat for me and MJ, Peter followed me and did the same, they set up their things next to us, Mj and Ned did sit ups first and i held onto MJs feet as she came back up and down. she rolled her eyes every time she came back up and took long breaks between each sit up. The gym teacher told us to switch, i laid down and did the it ups easily, I guess i should thank Steve, he made me do 1000 sit ups a day for an entire month.
Peter was having no trouble either, he was going as quick as me or maybe even faster, i slowed down to look at him and take it in, he was ripped and i mean ripped, i hadn't noticed it before as he wore multiple layers but i could slightly see his torso. His shirt lifted up a little more and more and i was staring, he caught this.
¨You like what you see Y/N¨ he said this cockily and a smirk followed, since when was he so confident, he continued back to his regular pace of sit ups and i was impressed. After we were done with class, i rolled up the mat and made my way back to put it with the rest of the equipment.
On the way i slipped and was about to fall back when two arms caught me, i looked up to see it was Peter, i jumped up immediately fixing my shirt.
¨Umm thanks!¨ i gave him my best non creepy smile and he returned it and told me not to worry.
¨Hey do you want me to walk you back to the office so you can hand in your permission slip¨
¨SHIT i almost forgot, thanks so much and sure¨ we agreed to meet in the hallway, i said bye to Mj who said she didn't need a lift as her mum was picking her up. I finally saw Peter leave the men's locker room, o made my way over too him.
We walked over to the office and we handed din the slip and the payment for the trip.
¨Hey do you want a lift back, its the least i could do?¨ i turnt and faced him
¨Yes and thanks¨
¨No problem¨ he followed me to my car and we go tin and headed off.
