katara and toph got up early this morning to go to the spa and do girly shit. katara tried to make me come but i refused to wake up when i didn't have to.
flashback!!
"toph! y/n! aren't you gonna get ready for the day?" katara yelled from the bathroom
toph sat up with her bed head surrounded in dust and filth.
"i'm ready."
"you're not going to wash up? you've got a little dirt on your...everywhere actually."
"you call it dirt, i call it a healthy coating of earth!"
"hmmm. you know what we need?"
i covered my head with my pillow trying to muffle katara's loud ass voice.
"a girls day out!"
"do i have to?" toph said
"it'll be fun. y/n cmon get up"
"no."
"yes."
"no. let me sleep."
"get up!"
"katara i will decapitate you if you don't let me sleep." i said this slowly reaching towards a sword
"katara just let her sleep, once when i was five a guard tried to wake y/n up before she was supposed to and she knocked him out and he had to be hospitalized for 3 days."
i opened one of my eyes to see katara's reaction to that statement.
katara stood there wide eyed and probably terrified
"well okay then, um. let's go toph."

i woke up about two hours after toph and katara left, so it was about 10:00 am.
everyone had left so i decided to take a nice bath.
i haven't been able to get some privacy in months so it was nice.
i combed my now collarbone length hair.
and just sat there in the bubbles and relaxed.

after my bath i looked at my wrists and my face and they were bruised from the dai lee agents.
it made me frustrated that i let my guard down for a split second. i put on my clothes and went into the living room.
i moved all the furniture against the wall and got my swords out.
i practiced some basics first
a/n: okay to make the reader more interesting and their skills more unique i'm going to give you the ability to enhance your ora (yes like in hxh but without any nen abilities) hehehe
after practicing the basics i sat down on a small rug and crossed my legs and focused on my ora. trying to be aware of anything that entered, whether that was a bug or a piece of dust.
i felt my ora become stronger and more well-rounded if that makes sense
an image of the dai lee rock glove coming towards me popped into my head. then my ora became all spikey and rigid
i took and breath and stood up slowly.
"focus y/n. you've got this."
i picked up my sword and tried focusing my ora into my hands and once i accomplished that i focused it into my sword.
i struggled at first but overtime i started to get it.
my energy was draining however because i haven't eaten anything. so i took a break.
i put my hair up into a messy ponytail and left to find some place to eat.
i came across a tea shop called "the jasmine dragon"
i walked in and it was pretty packed
there was a small table in the back corner so i went and sat down. i picked up a small menu.
i got something called "the metal brew" and a bowl of rice and some pan fried chicken.
a boy who i recognized came over to bring me my food, when it hit me. zuko.
"zuko?"
"zuko? i don't know a zuko."
i narrowed my eyes and looked at his name tag
"oh my mistake...lee" i said in a sarcastic tone
he gave me a worried look
"i won't tell the others you're here. so you can relax."
"um okay. thank you."
"so where's your uncle?"
"in the back"
he set my food and tea down
"zu- i mean lee, are you here to start over?"
he looked down
"my uncle is."
"and you?"
"i-i'm still conflicted."
i always sucked at comforting people
"um i hope you find yourself."
"yea me too."
i looked closer at him and noticed his hair was longer. not by much but still.
i truly felt bad for zuko because i understood. the oldest sibling living in the shadows of their younger sibling. always being told to do better. and your best was never enough.
"lee? do you want to join me?"
"um i would but the shop is super busy."
"yea it's cool. see you later hopefully we won't be fighting."
i let out a soft laugh and he did to.
he went back into the kitchen to get more orders and i ate my food

what was that feeling i had earlier when the dai lee came into my head? i felt so angry, like i couldn't control myself. if someone walked in at that moment i don't think i would've been able to hold back.
i must've been in some sort of trance because i realized zuko was shaking my shoulders
"y/n? y/n!"
"huh?"
"um are you okay it feels...intense over here"
my ora.
"oh um yea. just thinking."
"okay.."
i paid for the food and went back to the house.
has my ora become more intense?
am i loosing control?

when i got back to the house katara and toph were back from their spa day.
"um. love the look" i said raising an eyebrow
"what did you do today?" katara asked
"oh you know the usual. training and just sitting around."
toph raised an eyebrow but kept quiet
"training? really?" katara asked
"yea..it calms me."
"okay whatever it was your day" she said shrugging me off
i knew toph knew that i was lying..well partially

i sat down on the couch and started cleaning my sword.
sokka walked in
"hey sokka, what did you do today?"
"eh nothing really. i see you dragged toph into a girls day."
toph bended a rock in his direction. surprisingly sokka dodged it.
"hm. i see you've been practicing with your reflexes." i said impressed
"well if i wasn't i can't defeat the fire lord!"
i laughed to myself
"how bout you y/n"
"hm nothing really. i did take a bubble bath."
his cheeks turned a light pink but he quickly turned around
katara went to another room and toph followed close behind, leaving sokka and i.
"did you do any training today?" sokka asked playing with his boomerang
i stared at my sword debating on telling him what happened
"um yea i did actually."
"cool what did you"
"focused on my ora"
he raised an eyebrow
"what does that have to do with fighting"
"a lot actually, only a few amount of people can actually control their ora and use it to their advantage."
he sat there looking confused
"you don't have to worry, i won't be teaching you this"
"what?! why" he said whining
i playfully rolled my eyes
"because you're not cable of it"
"a-am i not special?"
"you're special, just not with your ora"
he frowned looking down
"get up sad boy, now is no time to be depressed on what you can't do, focus on what you can do. focus on becoming a warrior" i smiled at him and gave him a thumbs up.
he got up and smiled at me back. we pushed the furniture back to the walls and like always we started with basics to warm up.
i secretly took out my knife from my ankle sheath and threw it in sokka's direction. he was quick to react by dodging it but he didn't get out of the way fully so it cut his upper arm.
"ouch! what was that for?" he said holding his arm
"did you forget what we were doing? besides you have to be ready for anything, never let your guard down." i said the last part in a very serious tone.
he narrowed his eyes at me
"i made that mistake back at the party and got caught."
i need to stop being so hard on myself, it was practically nothing. it's not like it was a do or die situation.
"y/n are you all right? ever since last night you've been more stressed out than usual."
"i'm fine, i guess i'm just letting my emotions get ahead of me."
