Yahaba's POV:

I woke up and realized two things. One, it was late, the sun was high enough to blind me through the curtains. And two, I was alone in bed. I don't like the second part.

I jumped out of bed and began searching for Kentaro. There wasn't a note or anything so he should still be in the house. I walk into the kitchen to find him making pancakes.

"Damn it..." he said under his breath.

"What're you mumbling about?" I said jokingly, leaning on his shoulder.

"I was planning on surprising you with breakfast."

"Well consider me surprised, darling. It looks delicious."

"Thanks Shigeru." He said, pecking me on the cheek before turning his attention back to the pancakes.

"Want me to do anything?"

"Nope. You get to relax today. Leave everything up to me. I have a whole day planned."

"Wow. I was impressed before, but this..."

"I know, I'm great." He joked.

"You sure are."

"Sap."

"Says you."

"... guilty as charged."

I laughed at him and he beamed. "You sure I don't need to do anything?"

"If you need to do something, pick out some clothes. We're going out later."

I wonder what he's planned. I hope it's good. Knowing him, it'll be great. He's quite good at making other people feel appreciated. Might explain why he's such an amazing boyfriend.

"Nice or no?" I asked.

"Middle."

I can't even guess. I'll just let myself be surprised.

"Okay. Do you want me to pick out your stuff too?"

"Sure."

I went back to our bedroom and started picking out some clothes. I just went with a grey sweater, a collared shirt and some jeans. Nothing too fancy, but still nice.

Kentaro's clothes are definitely harder to pick from. It's not like he's picky or anything, it's just... He looks good in everything. I just picked out some ripped grey jeans, one of his band shirts and a denim jacket.

Hopefully he likes it. Wait, it's winter, I don't want him getting sick. I swapped out the denim jacket for our team jacket. It's the warmest we have. I also left him that scarf of mine he likes.

"Sweetheart, food's ready!"

"I'm coming!"

I walk into the kitchen to be met by a lot more food than I expected. There was pancakes, fruit (I don't know where he got it from), Pop-Tarts, and some bacon.

"This... is a lot more than I was expecting."

"Surprise!" He said cheerfully. "Do you like it?"

"It looks amazing. Let's eat!"

We began eating. The food was just as delicious as it looked. I know, we compliment each other's cooking a lot. But if you could eat what I'm eating right now you would never shut up about it.

"Kentaro, this is delicious!" I say in between bites.

"You really think so?"

"Yeah!"

He smiled fondly at me,"Good."

We continued eating until somehow all of the food was gone. Yeah, it was a lot, but we're athletes! We have an excuse! Plus, leftover pancakes taste nothing like fresh ones.

"You want to head out in a few?"

"Sure. Where are we going?"

"Another surprise."

"Okay!"

I went and got ready. Kentaro did the same.

"So you did wear the scarf." I commented.

"Yeah, you picked it out for me. Isn't that what it was there for?"

"You're right. It seemed like it might have been too much though. I kind of freaked out at the thought of you getting a cold."

"Aww, it's fine sweetheart. I don't mind you fussing over me. I actually like it."

I started heating up with embarrassment, "Stop..."

He kissed me on the cheek, "Nah. It's too much fun. Ready to go?" I nodded, "Alright, let's go!"

We ended up walking past all of the places we normally go to and entered a part of town I'd never been to before. There was an open plaza-type area that was currently filled with stalls.

"It's an art fair. I've never been to one, so I don't really know what it's about, but it seemed like something you would like. Was I right?"

"This looks so much fun! Let's go look at everything!" I exclaimed, grabbing his hand and excitedly dragging him into the fair.

There were tons of different artists and other art-based things at the fair. Some people sold their works, others sold art supplies, there were even food stalls. It was amazing.

There was one stall we were both really interested by. It was owned by a person who does metalwork. They made jewelry and keychains. Among the keychains were two matching ones.

They had gemstones and small metal flower charms on them and were strung on a dangling piece of wire. It seemed like something that was time-consuming to make. The flowers were yellow and light blue, like the ones on our tattoo.

"Good luck, and striving for the unreachable." Kentaro murmured.

"What?"

"That's what the flowers mean. The light blue means to strive for unreachable things as well as desire. The yellow ones symbolize good luck and strong bonds."

"I forgot you knew so much about flowers."

"Sometimes I forget too." He laughed.

"Sounds like a pretty useful good luck charm."

"Yeah. And knowing us, we might need one of those. You want one?"

"Where's the money coming from?"

"We won't need to use any of our savings for food after today, so I brought the rest of my money along."

"You want me to pay you back?"

"I'm sure I, the heir to a very wealthy company, can afford the cost of two keychains."

"You... make a good point."

"Yeah I do.Hey, how much for these?"

We bought the keychains and kept walking around the fair. There were a couple musicians on the far side of the plaza, so we walked over to listen to them. There were a few on different small platforms.

Many were older and looked like the instruments they played were all they know. One seemed out of place surrounded by those people.

They were very young and tall, with grey hair that had dark tips. They seemed to be built like an athlete, but still played the guitar delicately. The musician was clearly talented. I felt like I had seen them before though. Must just be déjà vu.

"Shigeru?" A voice called out. Standing near us was none other than a Shirabu Kenjiro.

"Kenji?"

"Oh god, not him again." Kentaro groaned.

"Darling, keep it down! You don't want to be his enemy."

"Fine."

I smiled at Shirabu, "What're you doing here, Kenji? Aren't you supposed to be at school."

"I'm watching my soulmate. I go to all of his gigs, even the smaller ones like this. We both get excused by the school to go to these things together."

"That's your soulmate?" I asked, signaling to the younger musician.

"Yep, that's the love info my life, Semi Eita."

"I'm impressed."

"That my soulmate's better-looking than yours?"

Rude. I whispered to Kentaro,
"He's not better-looking that you, trust me."

"Good to know."

I turned back to Shirabu. "No, that such a nice guy can put up with a salty asshole with DIY bangs."

"Okay, that was pretty funny. You've gotten better at your insults since we were kids."

"No shit. Seems like you haven't though. Still in second grade up here?" I tapped at his head.

He laughed, "Boy did I miss normal people."

"I wouldn't classify either of us as "normal"."

"I'll text you a recording of a Shiratorizawa practice. You'll understand after watching it."

"Looking forward to it- My god Kentaro, look at the time! We're going to miss our lunch reservations! See ya, Kenjiro."

"Bye Shigeru."

We walked away.

"Cream-puff, we have no reservations."

"I know. I was just sick of talking to him."

"You're a very strange person."

"Yeah, but you love it."

"Totally. He pisses me off so it's a win for me too."

I laughed as he pouted for a little bit. Not in a rude way, I just found his little pouty face cute. Sure, I can be petty, but I'm not a jerk. Most of the time, I can be if I wanted to. Unlike most people I'm actually able to choose not to be a dick. It's this thing called free will, truly magical.

I could tell Kentaro was feeling self-conscious about Shirabu as we walked around. So, I kept reminding him that I wasn't going to leave. I know he's thinking it.

"Don't worry baby, I'm not going to leave you for that douche."

"You sure? I mean, I know you're sure, but still..."

"Yeah, I'm sure. You're so much better than he is."

What? You expect me to look at his very clear fear of abandonment and not shower him with love, affection, and promises of loyalty constantly?

"You have plans for lunch?"

"Nah. Just wherever you wanted to go."

"There's a food stand around the corner." I suggested.

"As you wish, sweetheart."

We ate lunch happily while sitting on a bench. The stall served a fried batter dish of some sort. I don't actually remember what we bought, but it was definitely seafood-based. And delicious!

"Got any other plans, Kyoken baby?" I asked, curling my arm around his shoulder.

"Yeah, but they can wait for a little. My feet are starting to hurt." He complained.

"Aren't you a competitive volleyball player? Your feet should be fine."

"Give me a break for a second, okay?"

"I know, just messing with you. You alright? If it's from volleyball, I'm sure we could get Iwaizumi to fix it when we go to practice later."

"I'm fine, stop fussing. Just picked the wrong shoes for walking."

"If that's all, then your good."

"I said that. You really weren't paying attention."

"Not really. Your hair looks good long, by the way."

"You think so? I look a mess. Plus I haven't dyed the stripes in who knows how long."

"We could probably squeeze that into today, don't you think?"

"Really? If you want to, it's not too important..."

"You big softy. I don't need some perfect day-long date. Plus, it's our day together, not just mine to be spoiled. You're having fun too, right?"

"Yeah. And I like spoiling you, so don't worry about me."

"Well I'm going to worry about you. I love you. You're mine and that makes you the most important thing."

"If you say so. Personally, I think you're the most important."

"No you."

"No you."

"No, I'm pretty sure it's you."

We burst out into laughter. I really wanted to kiss him, but we were back on his dad's radar. So nothing public...

"Bathroom?" I asked, whispering, "I want to kiss you."

"Oh? I think I saw one down that way." He said blushing and pointing down a corner.

We went into the bathroom and I kissed him, hard. He wrapped his legs around me as I shoved him against the wall of a bathroom stall. I tugged on his bottom lip, asking him to let me in. He opened his mouth, letting me slip my tongue in. He moaned as I traced my tongue around the inside of his mouth.

Making out in a public bathroom was never on the list of things I though I'd do once I knew my soulmate. But, it's surprising fun. And boiling, there is no air conditioning in here and I am boiling alive. Doesn't matter though, what doesn't is pleasing my Kyoken.

He separated my lips from his before growling out, "My turn."

And now I was the one against the bathroom wall. The first thing I felt was his mouth behind my ear, kissing and sucking the sensitive spot there. He trailed his tongue across my neck, finding finding the sensitive spots and just destroying them with his mouth. Eventually he pulled away, leaving me wanting more.

"Looks like I did something right." He said cockily.

He was looking at me with hungry eyes. I probably looked a mess right now, but it seems like he doesn't care.

"You sure did baby." I said, panting. "I'd love to keep going, but this is probably the wrong place."

"Yeah."

"Umm..." I stammered awkwardly.

"What?"

"You have a bit of a problem."

"Do I- Oh."

"Need help with that?" I joked.

"I mean, if you're offering..." He joked back.

"Nope. Kentaro I'm not jacking you off in a public bathroom.

And at that moment, Shirabu happened to walk in.

"Run?"

"Run."

We bolted out of the Reston and ended up leaving the art fair so he wouldn't chase after us. And that's what lead us to sitting in the park.

"I have never felt that kind of fear in my life before."

"Honestly, same."

"He wouldn't... spread rumors, right?"

"Nah. Plus, he's known as a gossip so I'm sure even if he did we could easily explain to your father-"

"You were worried about my father? I was worried about Makki and Mattsun."

"Oh my god, you're probably right about that. Honestly if they found about about that out of context- or Oikawa!"

"Shit, you're right!"

"You know, just forget your crazy, rich, homophobic dad, let's worry about the gossip gays on our high school volleyball team, am I right?"

"We sound crazy right now."

"Maybe a little. But honestly anyone who met those three would be scared."

"True, true. Funny thing, I actually planned on taking you here later."

"Really?"

"Yeah, I know you like the park here. We seem to end up here half the time we don't plan dates."

"Yeah. And sometimes when we do as well."

"True."

"Can you blame me though? It's so peaceful." I said, smiling at the view of the park.

"You're right. It's calming." He laid his head on my shoulder and I snaked my arm around his waist, pulling him closer.

"You wonder why we change moods so easily? Like we were totally different like ten minutes ago."

"Maybe we just act like we're running out of time so we shove everything into short pieces."

"Makes sense." He sighed.

"You okay?"

"Just realized this is the last day we get to spend like this."

"No it's not. We've got my birthday close, I'm sure we could get a day to ourselves for that. Plus, we have that thing with Karasuno to plan. I'm sure we could add and extra day onto in when telling your father and do something then."

"Yeah, you're right."

"Cheer up then! The more you think of things being "the last", the sadder you're going to get."

"Okay..."

"Got much else planned for the day?"

"Not really besides practice... which we should probably start getting ready for, we left all of our stuff at the cabin."

"Shit."

We ran part of the way back to our cabin. Not all of the way back, neither of us like running that much. I was getting dressed and looking at myself in the mirror when I saw the state of my neck.

"Kyoken!"

"Yeah?"

"How am I going to hide this?" I gestured to my neck as he walked into the bathroom.

"Oh."

"Well? This is your fault so figure out how to fix it!"

"Umm... We don't go?"

"Like I'm skipping another practice! How many have we ditched, just for whatever?"

"A lot. But technically, Iwaizumi said we weren't supposed to come this week."

Shit. He's right. Him and Oikawa told us to take the week off...

"You're right. I'll text him."

"You got a good excuse?"

"What for?"

"Well, we've come all week and didn't plan on skipping any. So... excuse?"

"We're packing."

"Okay, that works."

"Aaaand, sent!" I said triumphantly.

"Well, since we're not going, want to get out of these uniforms?"

"You bet. Any ideas on what we should do now since we don't have practice?"

"Want to pick up where we left off in that bathroom?"

"Fuck yes."
