"I don't think we could work this out" she said in a firm tone.
"Cayla, at least give me a reason! You can't just leave like that! " I begged.
"Look no hard feelings, we can stay friends if you want!" she responded, changing the subject.
I was hurt and upset but not mad, at least not yet.
"You can't just change the subject like that! give me an answer, I deserve to know!"
She looked at me with her dead brown eyes and yelled, "Look, I was keeping it a secret, because I wanted to be fucking polite!!"
I uncomfortably said, "Can we sort this out without making a scene. Actually, Cayla I think I'm in love with you! we can give this a second chan-"
She cut me off and said "I have a girlfriend Elijah! I am not the person you think I am. I am not straight."
Am I in a dream? how? I thought to myself while trying my best to hold in the tears that had formed in my eyelids.
"I didn't wanna tell you because I thought you would feel insecure but it's too late now." she sighed.
"Elijah best, you made me realize that I'm a lesbian and I'm very grateful for that, thank you!" she continued.
After that I couldn't keep it together.
"Elijah, I promise you will find someone straight and beautiful." Cayla said after seeing the tears roll down my flushed cheeks.
Those tears made my vision blurry as I saw her walk out of my room and eventually out of my life.
(End of Flashback)
Elijah-
"Shit" I mumble to myself as the sun rays hit my eyes. Damn I haven't been out in a hot while. The outside world feels different. It's not as colorful and vibrant as it used to be.
Ethan handed me a grocery list and forced me to go outside so here I am, at our local convinience store.
I step towards the food aisle in order to buy a shit ton of snacks because that's the only way I know how to cope. I stand in front of the candy section and take a moment to pick my favourite.
I squint my eyes on the packaged food ahead of me when I hear a female voice, "Hey." she says.
"what's up?" I reply without looking at her because I'm not in the current mood to interact or socialize with anyone.
"You deadass look like you are from some anime" she said in a weirded out tone.
That's the last thing I expected her to say. She felt like she was a prick and first impressions matter, don't they?
"What!?" I say in a dramatic yet polite manner while not looking at her.
"The glasses, the hoodie, the face." she points at me.
"Well about that." I shrug and still keep my eyes ahead of me.
After a short pause she blurts out, "You buying that?" she points at the sour patch kids packet in my hands.
Before I could say anything, "You have shit taste." she continues.
I am caught off guard a bit so I stand there for a moment before saying, "Piss off."
She laughs and I roll my eyes. That was mean. What the fuck is wrong with her? You don't pick on someone for no absolute reason. This is not high school.
"So you watch anime porn?" she asks randomly instead of pissing off.
"It's called hentai and no! I don't watch Hen-" She cuts me off, "You look like someone who jerks off to hentai till you are sore." she says with a straight face.
That's was very rude, again.
In order to take in what she just said I turn to look at her, Damn she is pretty. Prettier than Cayla? Yeah, Maybe.
I blush and we gaze at each other till we both crack up in sync. It feels like one of those cliche and cringey "us against the world" moments.
"What do you do around here for fun? or are you as bland as your clothing choices?" she asks.
I smile and before I could answer she says "Look I know you don't do shit for fun. Let me take you somewhere. I will make your night! You'll thank me by the end of it"
I ask, "Are you asking me out on a date?"
"Wait, do you want me to ask you out on a date?" she replies snarkily.
I look down and blush. "666-456-4567" she steps back.
"We will see if you remember that." she walks away.
Was that her phone number? I go through what she said in my head and I think I've got it. That girl was pretty but a bitch. I would call her a crush at first sight, not love. I truly believe I can't love a woman who isn't Cayla.
I will use this rude girl to get my real love back.
Y/N-
(Fuck Buddy): I had that ugly break up fight because of you!!!
(Y/N) Ok. When tf did i tell you to do that? we are fuck buddies not lovers. get that shit thru your head.
( Fuck buddy): fuck buddies? how could you y/n? this always happens, doesn't it? if you have someone that loves you, you never love them back.
(Y/N): stop acting like the victim. FUCK OFF. YOU CUNT.
I fought the urge to throw my phone against the wall while I made my way into the convinience store. Boy, was it hard to hold all of those emotions in.
I shut my eyes and clenched my fists. I couldn't be bothered to deal with this shit again but then I saw him. The brunette skinny man with the shittiest taste in pants.
He had curtain bangs and he looked like an anime character. I walked towards his direction.
I wanted an escape from what I was feeling. It was all overwhelming. I needed a distraction.
"Hey" I approached him.
