[authors note: lmao sometimes I just forget that this is a kuroo x reader and I just want to write about kenma.

Kenma sat in bed for a while, he couldn't seem to stop thinking about you.
'Why did it have to be her...'
Since he had first seen you he's had the same feeling, butterflies in his stomach, calmness when you were around, a mind filled with you and only you.
'I could have fallen for anyone else... someone who was actually my soulmate...'
He thought about kuroo again.
'I can't say anything, kuroo is my best friend... he's been there for me through thick and thin... I couldn't do that to him.'
Kenma felt another crack in his heart every time he thought about you.
*ring... ring... ring...*
'Hm?'
Kenma looked over to his phone to see an incoming call from you.
"Hello?" He asked
"Hey kenma! You busy right now?"
"No, why?"
"Meet me outside, let's go for a walk."
"Alright."
Kenma could feel his heartbeat quicken as he heard your voice.
'I wonder what she needs to see me for...'
Kenma walked towards your house, stopping as soon as he saw you, the moonlight and dim streetlights giving you a perfect glow.
'She's a goddess'
"Hey kenma!" You smiled to kenma when you noticed him walking towards you
"H-hi" kenma tried to calm the blush that was appearing on his face.
"Let's walk to the park down the street ok?"
"Ok"
You and kenma walked for a while, talking about whatever came to mind. Eventually you reached the park and sat on the swings to talk.
"So why'd you ask me to come out here?"
"Well uh.... it's a little complicated...
I have a soulmate, I think... we don't get along at all, and for a while we didn't think we were actually soulmates... we thought there had been a mistake.. but now I think we are... I'm not really sure how to talk to him about it..."
"Kuroo?"
Your eyes widened as you heard kenma
"D-Did he-" you started
"He didn't tell me" kenma answered before you could finish your question.
You stayed silent for a moment before speaking again
"How did you know..."
"Just a hunch I guess... plus I had seen you and kuroo make contact before but when I asked him if you were soulmates he said he didn't know."
'He... he didn't know...? But I thought he didn't think we were soulmates... he could have said we weren't...'
The two of you stayed silent for a while, kenma was thinking of what to say next.
'They might not know it yet... but I'm sure they're soulmates... why does my heart feel like it's stinging? I don't want this, I don't want to feel these things, why did it have to be her? I want to be around her all the time... her smile makes me feel warm and safe... she's perfect in every way... and she's my best friends soulmate...'
"Y/n..."
"Yeah?"
"I think you should wait a bit to make sure he is your soulmate... and once you're sure, you should talk to him about it...'
Kenma could feel his heart crack with every word, all he wanted was for you to be his soulmate, yet he had to be the one who helped you fall in love...
'This hurts... badly... but I want her to be happy... I want to see her smile... that's all I need.'
Hearing Kenna's encouragement made you feel a bit better. Looking over to him, you smiled.
"Thank you kenma."
"Of course.."
'That smile... it's all I need...'
You spent a while longer siting on the swings, eventually deciding to go home.
"I'll see you tomorrow kenma!"
"See you y/n..."
Kenma walked back home, as soon as he got into his room he fell to the floor, letting tears flow endlessly.
'Fuck... I want to be happy for them, why does it hurt so much...'

After getting back home, kuroo sat in bed and thought about what had happened earlier.
'I-I almost kissed her... what was I thinking?!'
His face turned a bright crimson as he thought about you. After thinking for a while he realized something, while doing research you had never looked for soulmates who didn't get along, you were only looking for soulmate mistakes...
He grabbed his laptop and started looking for soulmates who didn't get along at first, and found quite a few story's.
'Its definitely uncommon... but we aren't the only ones... what does that mean for us? Maybe I should wait to say anything to her.... fuck this is complicated...'

You walked into class, reminding yourself to be normal around kuroo.
'As far as I know he's just an annoying friend.. nothing more... be normal'
Distracted by your own thoughts, you sat in kuroos seat instead of your own.
"Chibi Chan~ you're in my seat"
'This feels like déjà vu...'
You looked up to see kuroo smirking at you
"Then sit somewhere else" you replied with a smile
Kuroo placed his hand on the desk, leaning closer to you.
You started to blush and moved back a bit
"K-kuroo what are you doing"
"You tell me, chibi Chan~"
He moved slightly closer as he spoke
"O-ok fine I'll m-move"
You got out of the seat, keeping your head down, trying to cover the bright blush on your cheeks.
You could hear a few of your classmates talking
"Are they dating or something?"
"I hope not, I get that shes pretty but she's kind of a bitch, kuroo is way to good for her."
'They could at least make an effort to whisper...'
[time skip//lunch]
'I'm gonna wander the halls for a bit before class starts again... clear my mind.'
You walked around for a while, eventually reaching an empty hallway. You heard some footsteps behind you.
"Hey bitch."
'Iv heard that voice...'
You turned around to see a few girls from class, the same ones that were talking about you earlier.
"Uh... what do you want?"
"You really don't have manners huh? I heard some people say that, but it's nice to see it firsthand." She laughed
"You done yet? I'm gonna go back to class."
You tried to walk past, but one of the girls, who you assumed was the ringleader, grabbed you by the collar.
"Are you dating kuroo?"
"None of your business."
"It's a yes or no question, bitch." She spoke through gritted teeth
You smirked at her
"yes or no question, huh? I'll give you a maybe"
"Listen here bitch, leave kuroo alone or you'll regret it?"
"oHhHh so scary, I'm terrified!" you spoke with a mimicking tone.
"You stupid slut, don't talk to me like that!"
The girl raised her hand to slap you, you closed your eyes, expecting to be hit... but it never happened.
Opening your eyes again you could see kuroo holding onto the girls wrist.
'He looks mad...'
The girl pulled her hand away and released your collar.
"K-kuroo it isn't what it looks like, s-she was just insulting us... I guess I overreacted but I promise I had a good reason!"
'This bitch... suddenly using a sweet voice like she didn't just attack me?!'
Kuroo completely ignored her, and gently cupped your face.
"Y/n, are you okay?"
"Y-yeah I'm fine... w-we should go to class though, it's starting soon."
You pulled away from kuroo, trying to hide your crimson stained face.
'Holy shit he was so close to me....'
[time skip//after school]
As the bell rang you turned to kuroo with a smirk.
"Hey kuroo... I need you to help me with something, ok?
"Alright... what with?"
"Just follow my lead... I'm gonna get back at those girls."
You looked back to them, and as you expected, they were glaring at you.
At this point your mind was clouded with the idea of getting back at them, hardly realizing what you were about to do.
'Revenge time...'
You walked a bit closer to kuroo, grabbing his tie you pulled him down to your height, quickly kissing him.
Turning around, you smiled to the girls who now looked ready to commit murder, and walked out of the classroom.
Kuroo was left standing in the classroom, completely stunned, heart racing and red faced.

[authors note: fjdjfjjdjdjd I wrote a bit of this, then didn't have motivation for a bit, then out of nowhere in the night I was struck with ideas and motivation and my brain just ran with it. I really like this chapter! I feel so bad for kenma when I'm writing about him. 😭
