~Chloe~

After Mom left, I crawled into her bed because I was still tried. That and I didn't want to wake Alison. I just knew she would be pissed. Except, I couldn't fall asleep again. I was wide awake, and was just thinking about stuff. About Amber, the twins, and just life. Maybe none of this would have happened if the fire happened. Alison said she cause the fire, but it just doesn't make sense and I don't believe her anymore. She would risking so much if she had messed with the gas line and glued all the windows shut. Just her taking keys didn't make sense.

I heard someone groaned, pulling me out of my thoughts. I looked over at Courtney and saw she wasn't moving. Next I looked over at Alison, who in fact was moving. She lifted herself up from the pullout bed and looked over at her side. Looking for me. When she notice I wasn't there she started to freak out. Until she looked over at me, and she quickly let a breath of air out.

Alison got up from the bed and came over to me. She quickly pulled out the covers and got under them. Then she pulled the cover over her. Next she looked at me, "How the hell did you sleep on that bed? Would you even count that as a bed anyways? My back hurts like a bitch."

I chuckled, "I'm used to it, when I was in foster care. Most of the homes had to many kids, but they always had pullout beds. I practically lived off of them." I answered them.

Ali groaned and rolled over to her side. "Don't remind me."

Alison soon began to snore and I laughed. Never would I think Alison would snore. Especially with her so bitchy.

Next, the other twin started to wake up. She quickly sat up and looked over at the direction where Ali was. Well, her eyes were closed. "Someone please shut her up!" She screamed, and the next thing I knew, she was grabbing her pillow. Courtney pulled her arm back and threw the pillow, but instead of the pillow hitting Alison it hit me.

"Ow!" I cried, even though it didn't hurt.

Courtney opened her eyes and notice it was me. "Big baby." She teased.

I smiled, "Well, technically I am."

Courtney rolled her eyes and fell back onto the bed. I chuckled and I knew she would be asleep soon. So maybe that's why Courtney said I better not snore in my sleep when we first arrived home. Courtney probably was annoyed by Alison snoring.

~

About a hour later, the twins woke up. Well, actually I woke them up. While they were sleeping, I stayed up and read a magazine that was laying on the floor. After I finished it, I started to play with my phone. Even if there wasn't much to do on it, but soon I got really bored. That's when I woke them up. I first woke up Alison because she was closer, by poking her side repeatedly.

While for Courtney, I had some fun. I annoyed her by pulling the sheets of her. Soon she got tried of it and hit me on the side of the head with a pillow. Which, by the way, made me burst out laughing. That's when she really woke up.

Once the two got up, I told them that our mom wouldn't be back for a while. That she was seeing my sister and talking to her lawyer, and because I didn't have anything to do. I told them I was just staying in and relaxing.

That's when they shared the same look, a look that told me I wasn't staying in. Both left the room and had their little chat. When they came back they were both smiling.

Alison's smiled turned into a smirk, "Well because you want to stay here, and because Mom took the car. We're stuck here." Ali then looked at her twin. "So we're going swimming."

I choked, "Swimming! It's the middle of winter!" I yelled. Well that was one of the reasons. After the pool incident with the twins, I refused to enter a pool. When I was five, my dad tried to teach me but when I touched the water. I started screaming and kicking. After that, he never tried again. I never went to pool parties, and if I did, I stay outside of it on the edge. Until I was ten, my friend thought it would be funny to push me into the pool. I almost drowned but my brother was able to get me out. And my friend? Well let's say I never said a word to her again.

Courtney rolled her eyes, "The pool is indoors, and heated." She answered.

I started to get nervous, "Well, um, I don't have a swimsuit." I told them.

Ali then rolled her eyes, "They have a gift store here, Chloe. I'm sure they have some. Come on, it would be fun."

~

The next thing I knew, my twin sisters were dragging me down to the lobby. When we reached the gift store, I saw that there were actually some bikini swimsuits. While I wondering why the hell they would have bathing suits in the middle of winter. I groaned and the two pulled me inside.

Alison was the first to grab one and held it out in front of me. It was a two-piece bikini that was blue with green stripes going down at an angle. Alison's eyes narrowed and tilted her head. Then she looked over at Courtney, "Court? Do you think this looks good on her?" Alison asked her twin.

Courtney came over to her side and looked at me, "Maybe it goes good with her hair, but it needs to match her eyes more." She looked to the side of her and saw a light green bikini top that was strapless. She grabbed the bottoms from Alison's hand. Next Courtney held the two in front of me. Courtney smirked and looked at her sister, "Better?"

Alison smirked as well, "Much." Next she grabbed the bathing suit from Courtney and went to the counter. Next thing I knew, Alison had bought them. Alison then turned around still with the same smirk on her face, "Oh Chloe." She sang.

Someone please kill me now.

~

After we left the gift shop, the twins literally dragged me up to the room. Once we got to the room they practically threw me into the bathroom, and told me they wouldn't let me leave until I was in the swimsuit. After about ten minutes of trying to the leave the bathroom, I finally gave up. But damn, my sisters are surprisedly strong.

Once I got into the swimsuit, one of the twins had to watch me while the other got change. I thought it was stupid, but they didn't want me getting out of the bathing suit. Alison gave me a t-shirt and some jean shorts, even though we were just going downstairs. After the second twin got dressed, we went downstairs to the pool on the fifth floor.

As we got closer to the pool, butterflies filled my stomach. My sisters were going to find out that I can't swim, and I just knew they would make fun of me. I wanted to stay behind them and when they won't paying attention, I would run. Except my sisters were smart, and walked behind me.

I saw the door and sign that said 'Pool', and because the door was glass. I could see the pool. I groaned and turned around and tried to run. Keyword 'tried'. Alison and Courtney caught me before I could get pass them.

"Come on, Chloe. It's just a pool, it won't kill you." Alison snapped.

I crossed my arms, "Fine." Alison smiled and pulled out her key-card. She scanned her card and the door unlocked.

Courtney opened the door and held it opened. She smirked and waved me inside, "After you." I glared at her and went inside with Alison following me.

No one was actually at the pool, just me and my sisters. I looked over at the side and saw towels. I went over there and grabbed one. Next I went to a chair and placed the towel down. I laid down and just relax by closing my eyes, until I felt a shadow over me.

I sighed and opened my eyes, coming face to face with my sisters. "What? I came didn't I?"

"Come on, Chloe! We don't have a pool at our house! Use this!" Alison screamed. While Courtney was already in the pool.

Courtney waved over at me, "Come on in! The water is perfect!" Courtney called out.

"Don't make me throw you in Chloe." Alison threatened. My stomach dropped, if Alison throws me in. I might not come back up.

"Alright fine." I gave in, while Alison smirked and entered the pool. I sighed and pulled off the shirt and shorts. Leaving me in my swimsuit.

I went over to the edge of the pool and sat down. Putting my legs in the water. I looked over at the twins, "Happy?" I asked the two.

"You got to be kidding me." They said in unison.

"What? I'm in here aren't I?" I questioned.

Alison rolled her eyes, "We meant for the water to be over your hip."

I bit my lip unsure what to say. I looked up at Courtney and saw her eyes were widen."Oh my god." She whispered. Courtney swam over to me and grabbed my hand. "Chloe... Can you not..." She trailed off.

My eyes started to water and I nodded. While Alison was still confused. "Chloe what can't you do?" She asked me.

Courtney looked at me, "Do you want me to tell her?" She asked me, and I nodded. Courtney then looked over at Alison, "Chloe can't swim."

Alison rolled her eyes, "Please, Chloe can swim." She then glanced over at me. "Can you please show our sister that you can swim, Chloe."

I shook my head as tears went down my face, "I c-can't. I never learn how." I cried. I used my hands to cup my face and shielded my face from them. They probably thought I was a big baby now.

Then I felt someone grab my arms and pulled my hands away from my face. I looked up and saw both of my sisters. Both of them grabbed my hand next, probably to kept me from covering my face again.

"Chloe, didn't anyone teach you?" Alison asked.

"They tried, but..." I trailed off.

Courtney sighed, "But we made you scared of the water."

I nodded, "Yeah, I was scared of the water. I was scared, I would drown. Then when I was ten, I was at a friends house with my brother because he had a crush on her sister. My friend had a pool and wanted me to go swimming with her. Of course I went, but I never actually went into the pool. I just sat on the edge just like this, until she pushed me in." I explained to them.

"What happened?" Alison asked.

"I started to drown. It all just brought me back to when I was three, except I was in the pool. But because my brother was there he got me out in time." I answered.

Alison looked pissed, "I would beat the living shit out of that little girl for doing that to you." She hissed while I chuckled.

Courtney then cleared her throat, "I have an idea." Both me and Alison looked at her. "Why don't we just teach you? You'll be with the people who made you fear water, and we can make you not scared of it anymore." She suggested.

Alison smiled, "Yeah, we can teach you, Chloe." My sister then looked at me, "What do you say?"

I smiled and pushed myself into the water. The water rose up to my hip, letting it soak my dry skin. I glanced between my sisters, "Let's do this."

~

For the next hour, Alison and Courtney slowly began to teach me how to swim. So far the I can doggie paddle, which was good enough for me. Except my sisters want me to be better and stronger. They tried to teach me how to swim underwater, but I refused to.

We all stopped swimming when our fingers looked like raisins. Which by the way, I hate. When we got out, Alison went to go check her phone. While I went back into the chair I originally sat in, and Courtney took a seat next to me.

Until I heard Alison, "Shit." She whispered.

Courtney sat up in her chair, "What?"

Alison looked up at both of us, "Mom has been calling me, and my phone was on silent." Alison quickly grabbed all of her things. "We need to go to the room, like now."

I quickly followed her and threw on my shirt and shorts. Next I used the towel I had to get all of the water out of my hair the best I could. While both of my sisters did the same.

Alison looked between me and Courtney, "Ready?"

I glanced back at my sister and nodded. Next all three of us were racing upstairs.

~

Once we reach the room, well let's World War III broke out. Ends up Mom called me too, but I left my phone in room. And Courtney, just doesn't have a phone. Mom yelled at us, because we didn't have our phones especially because she should be able to reach us at all times. Which seemed stupid, because no one was listening except me.

Until a familiar suitcase caught my eyes, "Mom? Where did you get that?" I asked her pointing at it.

My mother sighed and placed her hand on her forehead, "That's why I was calling you. Your sister packed most of your things." She paused. "She was a mess and I don't think she's taken a shower or washed her makeup off since the day you left."

I cleared my throat, "Did she say anything?"

Mom pulled something out of purse, "She wanted me to give this to you." My mother walked over to me and handed me a white envelope. I took the envelope and went to seat down on the newly made bed. Mom turned around and faced my sisters. "Let's give your sister some space, you two."

Next my mother was shoving my sisters out the room. I quickly ripped opened envelope and pulled out the note. The note was written on notebook paper, and I slowly began to read.

'Dear Chloe,

I wasn't sure if you or your mother would be coming to get all of your stuff, but I packed everything. I know how you are about things, and I also packed your glasses. (You might need them.) And I knew you or someone would come by get them. By now if you or your mother got your stuff, you've notice I'm a mess. I fucking hate myself. I should've never have said anything. Yes, Mom and Dad did adopt you out of pity but they fell in love with you. They loved how you smile, and your bright green eyes. Yes, I didn't like you at first but no one did. Mason even tried to get ruin of you one day, but you grew on everyone. Especially Raymond.

I understand why you would want to leave, Chloe. The DiLaurentis will be able to give you what you want, but please I'm begging you. Come down to see me, I don't care if it's even once a year. Your my sister, and I will always love you. Don't ever forget that.

Love,

Amber

P.S- I never told you this, but one album survived the fire. I found it after the fire and was able to get two pictures. One picture of me holding you and Mom and Dad holding you.'

I looked inside the envelope and found two pictures. I pulled them out and studied them. The first was Amber holding me. I smiled and rubbed the edges. Next I pulled the second photo and saw my mom and dad. In both of the pictures I was smiling. That's probably how I got the nickname 'Smiley'. I placed the photos and note back into the envelope.

Next I went to the suitcase, and opened it. The first thing I saw was my glasses case. I could live without them, but I need them for distance. If I don't have them, I can't see anything that able eight feet away from me. Usually I had contacts, but being in foster care no one got me any... And I forgot my glasses at Amber's house. So for school, I had to ask my teachers to sit up front.

I grabbed the case and opened it. Inside were my green square glasses, I smiled and placed the glasses on my face. In seconds, everything far away became clear.

Finally, I looked through the suitcase and was glad to see everything inside. I placed my glasses case back inside the suitcase, and zipped it back up. I went back over to the door and opened it. I poked my head outside, and didn't see anyone outside.

I stepped outside, "Mom? Ali? Court?"

"Boo!" The twins screamed. I jumped ten feet into the air and placed my hand over my chest.

"What the hell!" I yelled at the two. My mother came from the behind the two and glare at me. Probably because I said a bad word. "Sorry." I whispered. Mom then went inside the room, while the twins stayed out in the hallway.

Courtney noticed my glasses, "Cute glasses, but since when do you wear glasses?"

I rolled my eyes, "Since I was little, but I'm not legally blind or anything. I just can't see far." I told her.

Alison rolled her eyes, "We are so getting you contacts."

I playfully hit her shoulder, "Hey! I happen to like my glasses!" The twins chuckled and entered the room.
