Venus's POV
'Stay' I whispered. My shoulders still stung from his grip.
'It was an accident, he wouldn't hurt you.' I kept telling myself. He wouldn't hurt me on purpose ... would he? No he wouldn't. Draco wouldn't hurt me.
He stood still at the door. His back faced me. He didn't turn around.
'Why? Why do you want me to stay?' His voice echoed throughout the dorm. He choked back a cry.
'Because I need you here. I want you here. Just please stay. I don't want to talk about it, I just want to sleep, I need you for that.' Tears started to stream out of my eyes.
'My shirt Draco, I can't ... I can't get it on. I need your help.' My sobs ripped through the room. They filled the silence between us. I was shaking, so much I was afraid to move.
Without a word he turned around and slowly walked towards me. I was trying my hardest not to cry any harder. He took the shirt from my hand slowly. Usually in a situation like this he would look me in the eyes, but his eyes never met mine. I watched him as he pulled my arm through one of the shirt sleeves and kept his eyes on the slight bruise that was already forming from his grip.
He did the same for the other sleeve.
And once it came to tying the buttons, instead of looking me in the eyes, he closed his. He couldn't face me. His veiny hands never left the garment, he ran his fingers down the shirt until he found the next button.
'Look at me ... please.' I whispered. I reached for his hand. He just let me hold it, his hand stayed still. He looked up to me slowly. His eyes searched mine for answers, answers as to how I was feeling. I didn't know the answer either.
'Your hair is still wet.' He said slowly. He stood up and walked over to the bathroom, I kept my eyes on the empty space before me. Soon he returned with a towel in his hand. He slowly started to rustle the towel through my hair to take some of the water out.
By the time he had finished my hair was only slightly damp. We were silent the whole time. He walked away to put the towel back. I started to pick at the skin around my nails before a cold hand wrapped around my hands.
'Lets sleep.' He said quietly. I nodded slowly and shifted my body so that I was laying down. Draco stood over the bed and looked at me.
'I don't know if I should- will I- do you want me to-' He stammered.
'It's ok Draco. I just want it to be normal. Please. Can we sleep like normal?' I pleaded. He nodded slowly and started to unbutton his shirt. He unbuckled his belt, let it fall to the ground and then took off his black slacks.
He hesitated before he moved the covers aside and laid in the bed next to me.
Slowly I started to lay my head on his shoulder. He lifted his arm slightly so his hand rested on the small of my back. I let my hand lay on his stomach, I slowly moved my fingers over and back on his abs.
'I can't tell you how sorry I am Venus.' He whispered. The hurt and regret in his voice jumped at me.
'You didn't mean it Draco. It was an accident.' I whispered. Was I talking to him, or myself?
No other words were spoken before I fell asleep.
**
I woke up alone. Draco wasn't here.
'Draco?' I called out for him, just in case he was in the bathroom.
Quiet.
Maybe he hadn't heard me?
'Draco?' I called out once more, louder this time.
Quiet.
I stood out of bed slowly. I was cold ... stiff. Draco's clothes were gone from the floor.
I took a pair of sweatpants from the wardrobe, pulled them on and made my way out of my dorm.
I stood in front of the door to Draco's dorm.
Should I walk in? Or knock?
Knock.
My hand reached up and hesitated before I hit my knuckles against the door three times.
No response. No footsteps. Nothing.
I reached for the door handle and tried too turn it.
Locked.
Draco locked his door.
Why would Draco lock his door?
I found myself walking away to Blaise's dorm. Blaise was one of the unlucky ones this year, he had gotten a shared dorm.
As I reached the dorm I knocked on the door straight away. I heard footsteps and laughter from behind the door. I knocked again before I heard a voice from behind the wall
'Right Jesus calm down.' A familiar voice said before the door opened. The door opened to reveal
Theodore Nott.
Oh my sweet fuck. Not him.
'Venus.' He said with a playful tone.I pulled myself away from his gaze and looked over his shoulder.
'Blaise. I need Blaise.' I looked back up to his amber eyes. He was just staring into me.
'Now Nott. I need him now.' I said coldly pushed Theo to the side and stormed into the dorm.
As I walked past all the boy's, still in bed all I could hear was whistling. I ignored it, but of course Blaise took the bed at the end of the dorm meaning I had to walk the length of the room.
'Blaise get up.' I took his pillow from underneath him and hit him over the head with it.
'Fuck Vee, what the fuck are you doing in here?' He looked me up and down.
'Where is he? He's not here. So where. Is. He?' He sighed and looked at the boys behind him, some were still whispering. He turned back and looked up to me
'Did he not tell you?'
'Oh yeah he told me everything and that's why I'm in your dorm asking you where he is. No you idiot he didn't tell me anything. He didn't even leave a bloody note.' I snapped.
A note.
He didn't leave me a note. He always. Left me. A note.
Why didn't he leave me a note?
Blaise muttered something to himself about taking care of me before he sighed.
'His mother owled during the night. 'It was urgent' he said. He had to leave. He'll be back sometime today.' He said slowly.
'He left. And didn't say shit. He fucking left' I said a bit too loudly as I started to walk away from Blaise's bed.
As I reached the door I felt a hand wrap around my wrist, stopping me from leaving. I looked back to see who it was. My heart stopped.
Adrian.
He smiled at me, God I just felt fucking sick.
'Pucey, what's your problem mate.' Oh fuck fuck fuck not Nott. He can't stick up for me. He'll want something back.
'What's your deal Nott?' Adrian looked over my shoulder. I felt Nott stand right behind me. He. Can't. Owe. Me. Shit. Not again.
I took a few deep breaths before I clenched my fist tight, looked up to Adrian and connected my fist to his jaw.
It wasn't my best punch, but it did what I needed it to do. It made him let go of me. His hand left my wrist as he took a few steps back as he put his hand up to his jaw. The room filled with curses and gasps.
'Vee' Blaise shouted across the room as he saw me snap my arm back.
'You fucking bitch. You just punched me!' Adrian said in shock.
'Payback.' I sneered.
I started to walk backward. But I had forgotten, Theo was behind me. I turned around and looked up to him.
'Excuse me.' I said flatly. He smirked.
'You never lost your spark Vee.' He purred
'You're not allowed to call me that anymore. I told you that last year. Now excuse me.' I pushed him out of the way completely and walked out of the dorm.
I slammed the door behind me.
'Ow' I said under my breath as I started to rub my hand over the knuckles that had hit Adrian's jaw.
And back to my dorm I went.
I spent about an hour pancing my dorm back and forth.
Was he ok?
Was his Mother ok?
What was so urgent?
Why didn't he wake me?
Why didn't he leave a note?
I paced and paced and paced until I heard three sharp knocks on the door.
'It's just me Vee' I heard Blaise call out from behind the door.
'Come in.' I said back to him.
Blaise opened the door and walked into the room. He sighed as he saw me pick at my nails. He closed the door and leaned against it.
'He's fine Vee don't worry.' He said calmly.
'But why didn't he wake me Blaise? He left me no note. He always leaves a note. Always. Is he safe? Why did he go?' All the words spilled out of my mouth.
'He's with his mother Vee, he's safe. He just said his mother needed help with family stuff.'
'Family stuff?' I snapped my head up to look at him. He nodded slowly. He must've known.
'I've known him since we were four Vee, if he's with his mother he's safe. I wouldn't let him leave if it was for Lucius. Trust me.' He assured me. He watched my expression as I nodded with no response.
'He seemed off when he left Vee. Did you two fight?' He walked towards me slowly. I sat down on the bed. Blaise sat with me.
'No no, well yes kind of. It was an accident, everything was an accident.' The words jumbled together.
'Venus. Whatever happened, Draco just wants you. I hear how he talks about you, how he looks at you. Whatever he did, he regrets it. It's obvious.' He pulled me in for a hug.
'I really shouldn't be saying this Vee because if he finds out I've said this he will murder me with his bare hands. But Vee he's head over fucking heels for you, he really is. So whatever it is he's done, please forgive him. He won't forgive himself if you don't.'
'I've said it's ok Blaise, I don't know what else to do, what else do I do?' Blaise pulled away from the hug.
'Vee as smart as he is. He needs it spelled out to him. He needs you to tell him straight to his face that you forgive him. Not that it's ok or that it's fine. You need to spell it out.' He explained.
I nodded slowly and looked down at my hands. I would tell him first thing when he came home.
'Vee?'
'Mhm.' I looked back up to him.
'He loves you.'
'I love him Blaise.'
'I really fucking do.'
